49ers UPDATE: Asante Samuel Jr

As far as Asante Samuel, he visited for a try out. They’re going to see where he’s at. You know, I’d love to see them sign him. I don’t know that he’s going to help. I think the, you know, Dimma Lenor got toasted for two touchdowns yesterday. Renardo Green’s getting picked on. These guys are pretty good corners, you know, and they’re not coming off of major neck injuries and they’re getting toasted because there’s no there’s no push. There’s no pass rush up front. The quarterback’s unaffected by the Niners front. So, I’m not sure if this is the spot to come for Asante Samuel, but I’ I’d be interested if he’s healthy. Supposedly, he’s had neck injuries, some concussions. It’s got to be checked out. They want to see where he is physically. Obviously, a bunch of teams feel the same way. They want to get that peak at him. We’ll see. I wouldn’t hold your breath on that one. That’s that’s what I would say about that. I wouldn’t hold your breath.

  1. Playing cornerback in the NFL without a solid pass rush is a recipe for either lots of pass interference or plenty of opponent touchdowns. Some of the more dubious pass interferences I've seen this year in the league have been called against the 49ers defensive backs. Basically, they get no respect and, likely, will not get any any time soon.

  2. Both years the 49ers were in the superbowl they had all pro corners. Not saying Asante is that, but it’s a start. Enough with the d line stuff that is nothing but injuries

  3. So basically u sayin they can’t hold their coverage…even if it ain’t no push up front the DBs still should be able to keep their coverage and they not..most receivers against them is gettin 3-4 yards of separation before they catch the ball or they wide ass open…what it is they gettin burnt and that’s the problem
