On August 21st, Randy Arozarena visited a local sports memorabilia shop. A young Mariners fan asked him about his gold chain and Randy let him try it on

  1. man i love that. what a sick story for that kid, bet he’s happy there’s footage bc none of my classmates would have believed me if i told that story

  2. Immediately hitting the pose while wearing it is awesome. You know that kid does it in the mirror or while playing in the backyard. It was so smooth.

  3. Leaving Atlanta after the 1996 Olympics, we saw a commotion in the airport terminal. My dad walked me over there to see what was going on. It was Dot Richardson, who hit the gold medal game winning home run for the USA Softball Team. She saw me walk up and started talking to me instead of the reporters. She took off her gold medal and put it around my neck. I got to wear it for a few seconds and pick it up and look at it.

Unbelievable. I’ll never forget it as long as I live.

Dot couldn’t have been a cooler person.

  4. Man, baseball players tend to be really good guys. There’s some dickwads of course, but most of them are just great.

  5. On a cold rainy day in Chicago this year my friends and I were heckling Randy Arozarena a little and he turned to acknowledge us and throw up a peace sign. That was cool of him

  6. My wife was born and raised in Detroit, a Tigers fan for life.

We started visiting Florida semi regularly in 2022 and we both became Rays fans as well.

When Randy was traded to Seattle, she cried. She’s never done that when any Tiger left the team. That’s how much that guy is beloved by his fans.

  7. That kids going to be in the MLB one day, tag me on it. We’ll look back on this day be like, “see it pays off to be influential to the kids and take the extra time”. I will not eat a sock if this doesn’t come true.

  8. When I was in middle-high school my dad and I had season tickets to the Single A San Jose Giants. During the season one year the GM stepped away to take a new job, and a guy ended up coming down from the SF Giants office to fill the role for the rest of the season.

He was a cool guy, would come and hang out on the season ticket holders patio before games, make chit chat, sit with the fans and so on.

Anyways one day he comes on the patio and over to me, and goes “Check this out” He’d brought his real deal 2010 World Series ring to show me. I’m obviously in awe of it, which is when he took it off and went “Hold on to it for a couple minutes while I go grab a drink.”

For a couple minutes there I had a World Series ring on and I was about as happy as any teen could be. Good dude. Anyways this video reminded me of that.

  9. I’m friends with someone who has won multiple SuperBowls and we met randomly from a mutual friend. I had no idea who he was until I visited his home city and he was being swarmed with fans as we bar hopped.

He visited me because he knew I was just a normal dude who thought I was cool and he brought his superbowl and probowl rings when we went to the bar. I looked hilarious wearing them as I’m probably less than half the size of him.

Great guy. His wife and daughter are amazing. He doesn’t trust many people because of money things.
