You thought it was going to be a 2-1 Snoozer. Mm-m. Great start for Colorado. The execution on this is 10 out of 10. Mar, Val, Nate, boom. Havs came out on the front foot and this is a beautiful play by Kale. We’ll actually break this goal down here shortly, but Val sells shot and absolutely deaks out goalie and Dman with that pass to Nathan McKinnon. Wide open net. Few minutes later, ABS on the power play. Watch Victor Olivesson not shoot. Over to Nate, corner pocket. We were all sitting there saying, “You have so much time to shoot and you have a cannon.” But puck gets through to Nathan McKinnon and he rips it. Low blocker. Second night in a row. Two goals for Nate. What a shot. Vancouver Conucks came out like Badgers. They were sharp here tonight. Watch Carlson take it between his legs and pretty goal. I don’t think Taz was expecting this play. He stops the first attempt. He seals the post and Carlson actually the way that he is able to get it back between his legs and shelf it. I mean, sometimes you just tip your cap. It’s a heck of a skill play from a fourth liner. So, it’s 2-1 after the first 20 minutes. Head to the second period and call a spade a spade. This is a bad turnover and the lead has evaporated. Their leader, Kefir Sherwood, Johnny on the spot, five hole. This is a salty little shot from Kefir Sherwood. You can see just ends up puck coming right to him wide open in front. Turnover by nature along the boards and he for sure would dare I say he is a goal scorer. Yeah he is. He is against the ABS for sure. Okay we go to the third period just 30 seconds in. Watch our Tur Lechin just outmuscle Jack Hughes right in the slot. Gets the stick out there and it’s a perfect pass for Burns. Well, Gavin Brinley on the top line with McKinnon and Lechinan and Leki was doomed. Always battling. Out battles Quinn Hughes out muscles him. And that’s just a filthy little tip to the top corner. Abs get a break. They get a power play and oh boy, Drew O’ Conor. Nah, he’s not going to make it. Oh, I believe this one ramps up off Kale Mar stick. You can see the communication from Olson and Macar. Just that slight half second hesitation allows Okconor to get in tight enough and off Mac’s stick into the top shelf shorty. So Gavin Brinley, we just talked to him. He’s the one that drew the penalty that got this power play. Watch Leki right in front. That’s where he lives. Nathan McKinnon little saucer pass and Nas gets a ton on that one. Artur Lean always always in front of the net. Pay attention kids where you score goals. Two for him tonight. Two for Nate tonight. ABS take a late penalty. This is just a welldrawn up setup play. Brock Besser looking for Jake De Brusk and he finds it. Well, and this is repeated power play attempts. They know what the ABS are attempting to do. So, they shift. And you can see De Brusk wide open in front. He’s so good at this little tip. And Besser puts it in the exact right position for De Brusk to tip that over Blackwood’s glove. We’re going to overtime. Gavin Brinley on the ice. I got moves. I got speed. I got guts. And I got the game winner. Brinley takes the shot, but you can see he weaves his way in. Brock Nelson drives. And then watch Nelson actually draws Peronic away from the front of the net and allows Brinley to get his own rebound. actually squeaks between the pads of Lanken and he’s not able to seal it. Gavin Brinley first gamewinning goal, first overtime goal. You know what I love about that? He’s not afraid to take the shot. He’s not looking for the pass. He’s looking to end the game. That I love that, too. It’s awesome. And look at this smile on his face. Here goes the PG-rated version of good job. I’m sure they’re all just saying good job. That was great.
