Colin Cowherd REACTS to #NewYorkGiants firing #BrianDaboll

Brian Dable has been fired. I think it’s idiotic. The New York franchises don’t know what they’re doing. So the the Jets last year, let’s fire the best coach we have, Robert Salah. How’d it work? Embarrassing. So the best coach the Giants have is Brian Dable, who works really well with Jackson Dart. So you’re going to let him walk out of the building. And you’re going to have like the third or fourth best coach on the staff take over as the interim guy. And if he wins a couple games, every fan’s going to be going, “Hey, that’s our guy.” Never fire the best coach on your staff. And if you have to, do it at the end of a season. If I was the New York Giants, I’d hire Mike McCarthy.

  7. Gm should’ve been gone first, that roster is abysmal outside of the defensive line. Daboll ain’t great but he’s been doing this year what his main goal was, find and develop your future qb. This move will also set back dart atleast a year learning new system, scheme etc.

  8. The players knew he was gone and so did he. He'd given up. The best choice was to fire him now. The locker room Needed it and now kafka gets a shot to show what he has.

  24. Problem with Daboll is he went from coaching to win games to coaching to save his job. Same guy who went for 2 to win a game his 1st season decided to kick a field goal to try and save his job last week

  26. The Giants were smart enough to figure out that their prize QB is not headed for a long career if he doesn't get a coach who demands he protect himself on the field. Daboll had to GO!

  31. I agree that they shouldn’t have fired Daboll yet. Let him finish out the season so Dart can get some consistency & develop without chaos during his first year. Then fire him & get someone new to replace him. Hiring Mike McCarthy would be horrendous tho… dude is just not a good coach. As a Giants fan i would hate to see that

  39. I get that he was the best coach on the staff but this is really shallow analysis. Daboll was the reason the coaches around him are so bad. Bowen was the Giants last choice because no other coordinator wanted to work with him. I like some of what Brian did but I understand firing him. Players seem to like him but coaches don’t. In order to get top coaching talent you had to get him out of the building first sadly
