I posted this three years back. Willie had given me hope cheering for a team that has brought a lot of heart break. I wish this team would’ve worked out. Hope your next job comes soon and you find that spark again.

  2. I personally liked Willie, but he wasn’t assertive enough (aka a big arsehole) to be a head coach in the NBA. Hell, last night’s game against the Lakers, JJ Reddick had little temper tantrums and challenged two calls when the Lakers were up by 20-plus points. You barely saw even that from Willie in his stint as head coach here. Willie will be fine. He’ll get another assistant coach job somewhere in the NBA.

  4. Willie just wasn’t a good fit it’s called having balls and adjusting he failed on both parts. He wants to be a nice guy go coach a church league team or highschool

  6. He sucks. He is a defense first coach with consistently shitty defense. His ato plays are garbage and constantly lead to turnovers. Finally , and most frustrating, he refuses to advocate for players and work the refs for foul calls like better coaches around the league. Instead he opts to cross his arms with the patented deer in the headlights look.

  7. me too. idc what anyone says. I’m going to miss Willie, he was a GOOD coach and he had such a good spirit. I always remember his incredible speech during the playoffs where he told them to fight. it gave me goosebumps and the pelicans immediately went on a huge run afterwards. people can clown willie all they want but I wish him nothing but the best.
