BREAKING NEWS: DAVID KAMPF SIGNS WITH CANUCKS

We have some breaking news in Vancouver. This literally just broke right now. So, the Vancouver Conucks have agreed to terms to David Camp on a one-year $1.1 million contract. What’s really interesting about this is earlier in the day, Darren Drager mentioned that there were three teams that were apparently real interested in David Camp. And the team that made the most sense would probably be the Vancouver Conucks. If you think about it, considering the amount of opportunity you’re going to get in Vancouver compared to some of these other teams, this team has had a stupid amount of injuries. So, where exactly is he going to fit? Well, this is kind of how the roster looks right now. And you can see it’s a pretty obvious pretty obvious spot right there on the second line center position. Now, do we want David Camp as our full-time second line center? Absolutely not. He is what it what he is is a pretty decent faceoff defensive fourthline center. That’s exactly what David Camp is. Like the the last year in the 2024 season, in the 59 games played, he only had the five eight five goals, eight assists, the 13 points. But Toronto used them a ton in the defensive zone when I think if I’m not mistaken, it was Tiveres who was getting most of the draws and Tiver was getting most of the assignments. But number two was David Camp. Now, what do I think about this trade? Well, honestly, it’s fine. Like the Vancouver Conucks, they clearly went out and they said they are not interested in doing any sort of rebuild in the future. They’re retooling this on the fly. So, what this is is just a stop gap. That’s all this is. We have a ton of injuries. Bluger is probably not going to be back back for maybe another, I would say, week or two. So, then you can have Bluger kind of go on the third line there. Ratu can go down to the fourth line, right? And then Gabe Camp can just be there. But if if you’re David Camp, like talking about opportunities, like this is your chance. Like if you’re ever going to have another shot at doing something, it’s with the Vancouver Conucks. You’re going to get a ton of opportunities. Sherwood is having a great season. Brock Ber is having a nice season as well, and that top line has been pretty decent, but we’ve had so many injuries, so that’s where he’s going to fit. So, it’s it’s not the biggest deal in the world, but it is an important deal when you’re kind of mentioning that we have some depth now for this team. Now, again, this is just a stop gap type thing. I don’t think this is a long-term solution or even just it’s a one-year deal. 1.1 is cheap. I think the contract makes sense if you think about the cap, but that’s exactly what this is. David Camp is going to be your defensive kind of reliable fourthline center stop gap who’s going to be playing way up in the lineup for now until we figure out that solution because Reicho unfortunately hasn’t worked out. He’s probably going to slip over to the wing. Max Sassin hasn’t been great on fast faceoffs. He might even slip on to the wing too when Bluger comes back. But that’s pretty much what we got. So breaking news guys. David Camp to the van.

  1. I feel this should really help the PK badly also, It's been struggling like crazy with Forbort and bleuger injured.
Also Leaves Petey to not have 2 do literally everything right now, since you can put David in some more defensive roles.

  2. Ahhh heard it here first, interesting. So what do I think of it…I think hell sure I like it, god knows we need ANY kind of help when it comes to centers so yeah at 1.1m there's not much to lose here, plus he's a special teams guy so that will help us big time. Overall, I definitely like this move, and here's to hoping it'll help make us better!

  3. decent in the face off circle, decent speed, decent pk, a solid 4C. he walked away from more than he's getting from the canucks so this is a show-me opportunity for him. hope it works out for everybody. lol canucks hav 4 -4C's.
