BLACKHAWKS POSTGAME: Chicago TRIUMPHS Over Maple Leafs, Colton Dach Leads the Way! | CHGO Blackhawks

Hawks win 3-2 at the United Center over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dare I say the reeling Toronto Maple Leafs. Join us for the postgame show right now. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Welcome into the CHGO Blackhawks victory lounge. Hawks beat the Leafs 3 to2. I’m Jay Zawoski. That’s Greg Boyison. Sarah’s here running the show. Mario will join us from the United Center in a little bit with all the postgame news. Uh if you miss it, something to keep an eye on. Nick Fo left the game in the second period. Did not look good. Took a puck to the wrist and left the ice immediately. It did not return. So, we’ll get an injury update there and share some other things. But, do us a favor, hit that like button. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube page. Let’s get to 100 likes so we can turn on Wacky Wavy Noodle Man as we do on all the wins. There is a lot to get to here, Greg. And um we were talking before the show began where it is nice to be stressed out because it means the hockey matters again. I’ll also say it’s nice to have a little bit of frustration after a win. where you feel like, okay, they got two points, but it should have been better. It could have been better. There were a lot of guys that underperformed. We’re going to spend the first segment basking in the win, but there is some stuff that needs addressing on this postgame show for sure. Dressing. Gummy bears. This is the season. This is the season for dressing. Um, yeah. I listen, bottom line is this team once again not giving up, not throwing in the towel. Third period, they came out, they get, you know, they get a couple goals. They’re they’re fun to watch. Uh, as as frustrating as it was at times tonight, there is our noodle. Um, you got a regulation win. Yes. at home. First sellout of the season, big night. Lots of alumni in the in the building. Went off without a hitch. Oh yeah. Perfect. Perfectly executed pregame ceremony. And uh more importantly, I know I’ve talked a lot about it over on blackhawkup.com. Cheap plug. I’m sure you guys have talked about it a lot. I’m going to admit I don’t watch every show when I’m not on. What? I don’t. I I Sorry. Um the the narrative is flipped around this team and you just beat the Toronto Maple Leafs on hockey night in Canada. Yeah. Despite the best efforts of the referees. Despite the hockey night in Canada referee acrew. Yes. Uh West McCaulay loves to make calls, but you don’t make the right ones half the time. Uh but they just got two points against the Toronto Maple Leafs on hockey night in Canada. So now all of a sudden the Canadian narrative is going to be like, “Oh, maybe these Blackhawks are for real. Maybe this is not just a hot start. Maybe this is a team that’s going to be around for a while.” You know? Yeah. Again, not ready to christen them playoff team yet, but be in the conversation after the Olympic break. Well, you see what happens. And you’ve really got an opportunity here coming up with I’m going to get the order wrong, but you’ve got Calgary, you’ve got Seattle, you’ve got Minnesota who’s not playing very well. There’s Colorado in there. Who am I missing? Nashville. Yeah, Buffalo. Like there there this is a there’s there’s some points to be had here. You can stack some points. Yeah, as the boys like to say. And there’s that. You know, American Thanksgiving is coming up real soon. And there’s the stat. where about 75% of the teams who are in a playoff spot make it. Now, that also means 25% of the teams don’t. Don’t be one of the 25%. But just that’s all we asked for at the beginning of the year was 100% play meaningful games in March and April. Yeah. Be in the conversation. Have some games that matter. And the more you do, you win in October and November, the more chances that’s going to happen. And hey, two points now are as valuable as they are in April. Absolutely. Two points. They’re easier to win now than they are in April because there’s far less pressure. Um and listen, they the beginning of the year, all of us sat here and said about h maybe they’ll get about 10 or 12 more points this year. They’ll be around 72 to 75 points. At this point, anything below 80 is going to feel like a disappointment. Yeah, they’re they’re definitely raising expectations. uh like game to game with every win expectations get raised a little more and like again Colorado is coming up right and I think that’s a game where you’re like all right well that measuring juggernaut it is a measuring stick but it’s still going to feel bad if they lose that game whereas before you’d be like all right well it’s Colorado what are you going to do you’re going to get pasted by them and you know it’s still going to be disappointing if if that game ends up in a loss but let’s not get ahead of ourselves there’s a lot of good stuff in this game and I want to start by talking about Ardum Lev who Man, was he playing with confidence today. Training wheels are off. Man, he was uh you the assist on the Ryan Green goal where he basically has the puck along the left wing boards. I don’t know if he hit a rut or something. Kind of lost his balance a little bit, fell, circled around, walked all the way around to the right wing side, almost all the way to the goal, and that is a perfect pass on the tape to Ryan Green who one timedimed it. A beautiful play. Then there’s a play in the uh second period where he takes the puck from the point, drives the net, stick handles in and just gets kind of checked and pulled down and can’t get the puck on net. But damn, he is just like he wants that first goal so bad. But even beyond that, he is feeling like, all right, I am starting to get this. I’m starting to understand this game. I’m starting to I’m starting to get the speed, the timing, all the things that young players talk about when they make the jump from whatever lower level to whatever higher level. He is really starting to put it together and he looks fantastic. Look, are there moments? Yes. Was there another scary drop pass on the power play? Yes. Did he fall down before the assist? Yes. But he’s got the ability to make up for him. I I’ve just been really impressed the way 55 has played lately. Yeah. I mean, after that goal, the the green goal, I turned to you in the press box and said, “That’s the shift right there is why you drafted him second overall.” Yep. And you know, I I said early in this game after the first or second shift, Arty wants that first goal, man. He was trying so hard to to find the shooting lanes, get the puck on net. And if you’re not entertained watching Ardum Levino play hockey, I don’t entertain I don’t know what to tell you. Yeah, cuz that dude is just fun. Yes, he is fun. He’s just Sometimes you have no idea what he’s doing out there, but when the play is over, you’re like, “Hey, that worked.” Yeah, that worked really well. That was fun. The kid is just enjoyable to watch. And those those scary clutcher pearls moments, they’re not happening nearly as much as they were earlier in this season. They’re they’re less frequent. Now you get, you know, one and a half to two a game where early in the season it was like four or five. Yeah. And he got bumped up to last six pair tonight. Yeah. So obviously Jeff Blasio and the coaching staff, what they’re seeing from him, they’re giving him more time. They’re giving him more responsibility. This the season kind of changed for him. I’m not saying it’s going to be the main reason, but the timing lines up. his season got going on track when he got put on the top power play unit. Yes, it did. It just something clicked. Not saying that’s the reason why, but at the same time, he started to figure it out. Well, it’s a it’s it’s a vote of confidence. I mean, it’s the coaching staff saying, “We believe in you. We know you’re good.” But look, like I’m sure Arnum Lev is is fully aware of the things that he’s done in games that have not gone well or where he’s given up a pizza to the opponent or made a bad pass or or lost his man or whatever. Now, when you get a vote of confidence from a coaching staff like that, if you are having those internal doubts, that is a huge like that’s going to wipe that clean. Say, “Oh my god, they’re putting me on power play one. I have really earned their trust. All right, let’s go.” Like they’re putting faith in me. I’m going to reward that faith and I’m going to play my ass off. And he’s done that, man. He has been so damn good. I think he was the most noticeable. And look, every time he’s on the ice, every time he has the puck, something’s happening. He is like, and please hear me when I say this. I’m not comparing him to Patrick Kane. They play different positions and they do different things. But my point is when Patrick Kane would have the puck, there was a different kind of you would sort of sit up because you knew like something could happen very quickly here. We’re getting to that point too with Conor Bedard where he’s got the puck and you feel like something is going to happen. Leave is similar in that way where maybe it’s not good every time but more often than not something is going to happen. Something something entertaining is going to happen. There will be. He is a uh highevent player. High event is a good way to put something will happen. Hopefully good, sometimes not so good, but it will be a high it will be an eventful shift. He’s been a lot of fun. And oh, lookie lookie. He now leads all rookies with 10 assists. Weird. For those of you keeping track of him and another rookie in the league. Yes. Um so, you know, it’s it’s been fun to watch him. Um, still a long way to go before we can declare him like a superstar. Oh, yeah. There’s a ways to go there. Long way to go to I’m ready to declare him a good player. you see you see why he was drafted in that spot and why the Blackhawks were high on him and just to kind of see, you know, here in in the postgame chats and just in general, uh, across social media and you’re starting to see fans really, uh, you know, take to the pick, take to the player. Yeah. They’re starting to see it. They’re like, “Oh, okay. This I I like it now. This is fun.” The scouts have been telling you ever since the draft that it was the right pick. Yeah. It’s there. And now you’re starting to see it at the NHL very early on in his career. It’s exciting. And the thing about this is you you he has these great games. You give him some more responsibility, but the second he starts not deserving it, they’ll pull it back from him. This is a real ass coaching staff that says, “Okay, you haven’t earned it.” Sam Renzelle sat in the press box tonight after he was playing 24 minutes a night to start the season. If you’re not earning your spots, if you’re not earning your ice time, they will take it away from you. That is something that coaching staffs in the past weren’t doing for these young players especially. Yeah. Well, look, and and it it will not be linear for Lev. It won’t be for Renzo. It won’t be for Badard. It won’t be for Nazar, but you have a coaching staff that is fully aware of the struggles that are happening. They are watching like they’re not going to miss it if a guy is playing poorly. And you saw over the last few games Renzel has played mostly offensive zone starts. They haven’t been giving him the hardest matchups. They’re trying to build his confidence back up by giving him better situations. And finally, they said, “You know what? Let’s just give him a night. Let’s see. Let’s see how he does. Let’s see how he responds. And it’s not a punishment. And Jeff Flashel talked about it today. He talked about it yesterday. It’s not It’s not a punishment. It’s not a you’re not good enough, you’re doing. And look, those will come, I’m sure. Not for Renzel necessarily, but just there will be consequences, too. But this is Vlashel saying, “Oh, wait a minute. He’s taken on a lot in the in the last, you know, start of the season, the end of last year. It’s been a a roller coaster for him. He comes in with massive expectations. People are talking to him as a Calder nominee before the season even begins. All right, it’s starting to get away from him a little bit. Let’s take him out, let him watch the game from the press box, have some popcorn, have some non Mark Bersanin infested gummy bears, and just breathe. Just breathe. I don’t think there’s any I don’t think Samle should take this as any sort of I’m not good enough or they’re going to send me down. Not at all. No, it is a it is a it is a professional coaching staff. A teachable moment. Yes. And it’s a it’s a professional coaching staff recognizing that a young player needs a breather and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. You mentioned Renzel getting some of that Calder. We saw a lot of oh my dark horse for Calder Sam Renzel. When does Aries start getting in that conversation? It’s got to start happening soon. You think so? I mean, everybody fell in love with the defense with all the points last year and the year before at Brock Faber. Yep. Just saying. Is he on pace for like 50 points? All assists. The reverse of the sver. Yes, exactly. That would be that would be what? The Anthony Young line. See, Detroit Lion circa 2000 to 2018, whatever it might be. Uh, all right. Hey, we have a ton of people watching. 655 people watching right now. 286 likes. Let’s get those likes. For every hundred likes, Noodle Man wakes up. God, $50. Indeedable. I think I got it right. Indeedable. I’ve been practicing at home. Arty’s best game as a Hawk. Thank you for the $50. We appreciate that. Uh, Aerys mix for five says, “I was always a fan of the already pick, but he’s proving me more and more right and others more wrong, and I’m here for it. His instincts are insanely good.” Okay, dunking on people early. It’s okay. Uh, McBaconator five bucks says, “I don’t understand how the refs in the league can keep getting these calls so wrong. Not only is it awful for the Hawks, it’s awful for the sport of hockey.” I’m with you on this. And like how many times have we said this year alone either on Twitter or to each other play sucks. I’m not Well, it’s not only that. It’s like I’m not going to make a prediction on what this is going to be because everything I’ve ever understood about the rules of hockey are apparently wrong that I can’t I am still not over the freaking interference call on Tyler Batusi in Vancouver. That was the most asinine call I’ve seen in my life. And then tonight, is it a high stick? I don’t know. The stick is over Terrain’s head, right? The stick is the same shape as my as my mic arm here. The high end is pointed up. It’s over the shoulder. There’s no question about it. And they’re like, “Nope, no high stick.” And how many Blackhawks did you notice get tossed out of the faceoff dot tonight? Yeah. Michael Pekka was over and over. Yeah. And then there was, you know, uh there was a play in the second period. Bard was getting mugged by two guys behind the net. No call. Yeah. Uh did was it Krevy got cross-ch checked into the boards? Yeah, it was like just blatant two hands. Then there was the play where Colton Doc after the goal hit Simone Benois and he kind of fell awkwardly in the boards. It was very clean hit. They were going for the puck. He just, you know, lost his balance and Jake McCabe comes in from behind, cross checks him right in the head and no call. It should have been a call on McCabe at the very least. Um, but yeah, the the replay, I’m not surprised they got it wrong because replay sucks. It’s the it’s the effing worst. Get rid of it. It’s stupid. It every time you see a play and you go, “Oh, this that’s going to get overturned. No doubt.” Nope. Or you see it and you go, “That’s going to stand. That that’s obvious call.” Nope. Replay sucks. It is so stupid. It it takes away from the game. Just either call it on the ice or don’t. Forget it. I mean, if you’re going to use replay, replay should only be for is the puck over the goal line or not. That’s it. I don’t care about any of this other crap. Yeah, it’s garbage. And and Reven says it like betting has ruined sports. I like that’s why replay is don’t don’t get it twisted. A big part of why replay exists in sports is because of sports gambling and they want to make sure, oh, we didn’t get that call wrong. Here’s proof that we got it right. Look, we every blade of grass, every inch of ice, we’ve got a little camera on it and we can tell you. But look at his his skate lace was over. So he’s he’s not offside. There were so many like to me replay should be you miss something obvious. Did you see that? You missed that obvious thing. Yes. Okay, great. But if you had to go frame by frame by frame to see if somebody’s offside, it didn’t impact the goal. It made no difference on the play. Yeah. No. And look like that, sure that high stick should have been overturned, but like it was 30 seconds before the goal was scored. You know what I mean? Like it the Hawks frankly deserved to get scored on in that shift. They were getting panced. Yeah, for sure. I mean, they they Yeah, it was it was almost a mirror of the shift where the Hawks scored in the first period where they just own the zone for a minute. And when you are playing defense for that long, one of two things is going to happen. you’re either going to get a penalty or the goal is going to be behind your goalender. Yeah, those are the only two ways out of that situation. But, uh, yeah, it just the replay it’s it’s it sucks. And I think in all sports, replay has led to the officials making worse calls because they know they have the cameras to fix it if they get it wrong. Yeah. I I just fans don’t want to feel like they got cheated out of a game. And yeah, to me the human element is part of a game. I’m with you. I agree. I I just think that we are two old men yelling at clouds right now. Sure. Cuz it’s as long as the technology exists, they’re going to use it and there is too much other influence that is permeating the game and it’s frustrating. Um do we have anything uh ready to go postgame wise? Sarah, I see you’re throwing some stuff in. We have Colton Doc, uh, who’s short and then his is like a minute and then we have Frank Nazar who spoke. All right, we got some news first though. Uh, the first place I saw this was Tab Bamford. Uh, Blashel says Felina will miss four plus weeks. Probably had a cast on his hand after the game. I was going to say probably a broken not the first time he’s broken his hand here in Chicago. It wasn’t punching a guy in the head though this time. Yeah, that’s uh that’s a tough loss. I mean, he blocked a shot from like 5t away from him. Uh, Felina was having a really good game tonight, too. Uh, that fourth line was good in the first period. They were the ones that started that long shift that led to the goal. Um, that, you know, it’s your captain. It that sucks. Um, but, you know, it’s a next man up. Um, you know, of course, now everybody’s going to be like, “Oh, we’re going to call somebody up.” You know, we’ll see. But well, Slagger’s here. I I was a bottom six guy. If Dickinson comes back, but yeah, you have Dickson come back and you can you can go right back to your 117, which I think you’re probably going to he does prefer that, right? Um but that is a big loss. And I was actually thinking about this uh during the game and I think Nick Fino has been a lot more effective than he gets credit for. Like he’s controls the puck. He makes smart plays. He’s one of those guys where it’s like, boy, I wish I understood the game when I had the like the more athletic ability, you know, like he’s so wise now as a hockey player. It’s a shame that as you gain wisdom, you lose the physical ability to do the things you were able to do when you were new in the league, fresh in the league, cuz he just he’s almost always making the right play, protects the puck, strong on the puck. Um he’s done well in his limited role, so uh it’s going to be rough to lose him. Uh, but if it’s four weeks, not that that’s good, but he’s got a cast on his hand and the diagnosis is only four weeks. That’s not awful, actually. So, that sucks, man. That really sucks. All right, why don’t we hear from uh who do we want to hear from, Sarah? I want to hear from Frank Nazar. Why don’t we hear from Doc who scored gamewinning one? Let’s hear from Colton Doc. He spoke after the game here. It’s not just Connor and uh and Tyler scoring away. Yeah. I know it’s been awesome. Um I think obviously it started with slags uh last game being uh stick on or pan on one. I think that’s kind of our game, you know, as uh you know, fourth and third lines. You got to be hard below the goal line, get the pucks low to high and just get in front of the net, create chaos. I think that’s how we’re going to score our goals. Ly is becoming quite the offensive defense. Yeah, I think that’s his game. So he’s good. Yeah, he’s pretty he’s really good at getting pucks through. I think he’s got a really good shot. Um he’s really finding those kind of lanes to just kind of get pucks on net or get it towards the net. And as forwards we got to do a job trying to get a stick on it. So that’s a skill too, right? Just getting a puck through. It’s not always just a harder shot. He’s got to get it through. Yeah. No, he’s he’s doing really good at that. Um I think obviously as a as a winger myself, it’s not always easy going out at D when they’re trying to find lanes through you. So you have a lot of respect for a guy when they could uh get the puck through. With how you guys are playing right now, is it maybe extra special to do it not only against the Leafs, but also on hockey night in Canada? Yeah, I was pretty pretty cool. Um, it was a good comeback from the guys. Uh, you know, I think like I said out there, we we’re having a lot of fun. We’re great chemistry. Um, I think, you know, we just got to keep riding with it and good things will happen. How important was you to get the review go against you, but you guys didn’t let that bother you? Yeah, I think we were playing pretty good hockey. Um, we obviously had that shift, got hemmed in a little bit. Um, it sucks when it doesn’t go our way, but I think the the guys kind of rallied and got a little bit of momentum towards the end there. And I thought we came up pretty good in the in the third. All right, there he is. Colton Doc. People like his hat. Um, we got over 400 likes. We’re going to hit it. Noodle man’s coming back on. You know what’s uh one of the things I like about this game, too, is you get some depth scoring. You get Ryan Green scoring a goal. You get Colton Doc scoring a goal. Um, you were short-handed without uh you were short-handed without Felino. You’re obviously short-handed without Tower Bratusi. And boy, is he really like he was really really obviously missing tonight. Yeah, like I was not despite the point totals that Bertusi is putting up, I didn’t recognize how big of a difference he makes in the moment to moment process of a game because he is that edge guy who’s going to crash the net and win board battles. And for a lot of this game, that’s what was missing. You and I both said it. If I see one more forward enter the zone with speed and then stop and curl off and look for the drop pass, I’m going to snap. It was Barackovski. It was He was doing it a lot. We saw Nazar doing it. We saw Table always does it, but like it was just take it to the net. Go, go, go. The only guy really taking it to the net aside from Lebanon was McKav. There were so many just stop, peel, look for the backhand, look to drop it off. No. No, take it hard to the net. You said too as we were walking out, Toronto is just collapsing everything towards the net. So go Yeah. Take take it. They had accept the challenge. They had no desire to cover a defenseman with the puck up high. So shoot the puck, get guys to the net, and cause some chaos there. But um you know, it it was frustrating watching that at times. That was part of the frustration building. Yeah. Was was seeing a lot of that. Uh the puck management wasn’t great. A lot of turnovers. They they couldn’t get the puck out of their zone half the night, which has been a problem for seems like forever. Yeah. Uh they, you know, the passing wasn’t good. There were a lot of passes on the back foot. Uh too far ahead of guys. You know, Burkovski wasn’t great tonight. Ryan Donado. Donado had a rough game. That was probably his worst game of the season. That might be his worst game as a Hawk. Maybe. I don’t remember much of his first year, not going to lie to you. That was a That was a bad year for everybody, but uh everything just seemed to be so hard for him tonight. You know, every pass was getting fumbled every night like that. Yeah, sure. Listen, he’s been really good all season long, but he was he was fighting it tonight from from the opening draw to the end of the night, but you know, yeah, Tyler Petusi was definitely missed tonight. Um, so hopefully you can get him back. He was he took part in morning skate. They play again Tuesday, so they got a couple days. Jason Dickinson’s been practicing all week. Yeah, he seems close. So yeah, we, you know, here here that Felino’s out for a month, but you get those two guys back, that softens that blow a lot because those guys play that same kind of style. I know a lot of people are, “Hey, just call up Nick Lardis. It’s not the same role here.” And plus, let’s let’s let Nick Lardis kind of get his game back. Yeah, he got an assist tonight, but he went five games without a point. Like, relax. There’s plenty of time for Nick Lardis. Let’s let’s do before we hit the break zone. Let’s just so far this organization’s done a pretty good job with the development. Young players have come up and contributed. If they don’t feel that Nick Artist is ready, then cool. There’s no reason to get worked up. Trust them, right? Like at this point, I think they’ve earned a little bit of trust in terms of developing players. You have a seventh round pick in Louis Creier becoming a guy you can’t sit. No. Like trust me, three assists in the last two third periods for Lu Krevier. Yeah. And he was he was the the shot he that was redirected by Doc was a bomb. And he had another bomb in the first period. Just unleashed it like he’s that’s a confident player, too. All right, we’re late for the break zone. Hit that like button. We got to get to uh Noodle. We got to get to 500. That’s the goal before uh the show ends. And we we have a special guest that is here. You might we might hear from them later in the show. the new mayor. They want to give it away. The new mayor of Chicago. That’s right. The new mayor of Chicago. All right, we’ll talk to you in two minutes. And we got a cool special to tell you about on the other side of this break. So stick around. Hit that like button. Back in 2 minutes on CHGL Blackhawks. A great value, correct, Holly? Great value. Yes, absolutely. All right, so you are in town till the 21st. Yeah. You’ve already been to an Ice Hawks game, correct? I’ve been to two Hawks games tomorrow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow is Ice Hawks game. Two Hawks games. You’re on the scoreboard today. Yeah. Has it been as magical as you expected? It’s been crazier than I expected. I didn’t like half the things that have happened. I did not expect to happen. And we were say like every single day. It’s just one thing after another. And I don’t know when I’m going to get to rest. Probably not until I’m home. But it’s been really good. You got that long flight home to sleep. You’ll be fine. Yeah. You’re going to crash out for like a week. You’ve got the power of youth behind you. You’ll be all right. You have to go home and act like everything’s normal. Go back to my normal boring life after this whole 10 days in Chicago. Well, my favorite part of your trip is that you went to Chipotle. Yeah. Chili’s, Target, and Starbucks. Yep. That’s it. And I went to Duncan. I went to Duncan for breakfast. Were those Was that all your first time? Like ever? I’ve never been to the US. I’ve never been outside of Europe. So everything I’m doing I’m like we were driving down the street and I’d be like, “Oh my god, it’s” and it’s just like something random, like a random rush. It’s Olive Garden. She’s like, “Olive Garden’s pretty good. I’ve never been to Olive Garden.” I know. I refuse to go. I know. All right. Can we We just got to plead with you though. You have to not just have No, I’m not. the stereotypical American chains. I’m not. You’re in the best food city in the world. We’re going to Rockford tomorrow. We’re definitely going to have some Taco Bell or beefoo. Yeah. Taco Bell out there. No. Well, we have that in the UK. Okay. So, all right. I don’t need to have that. But, um, no, my friend Alyssa, she has recommended some local places. So, it’s not just going to be chains. I’m going to try local stuff. Please don’t get mad at me. I do portillos. No, I haven’t yet. Well, that one you can do. We’ve been so busy. Yeah. What has been your favorite non-hockey thing that you’ve done so far? Um, just going to downtown I think seeing all the I almost fell over. I’m like walking around like this like looking up because we don’t have like I mean in London they do but it’s not as built up like as compact as Chicago is. So I’m walking around like wow. And she’s like we’re about to cross the road. Be careful. And I’m like yeah like cuz I just it’s so surreal and so different. I’ve been see I’ve been looking at pictures and videos of Chicago for so long and now I’m here. I’m like wow. I’ve actually taken these pictures myself. So, do you have any like uh friends at home like be careful, be careful? My mom My mom was convinced. She was like, “Ring me when you land. Ring me when you meet your friend.” She was freaking out for so long. Spread the word that Chicago is a great worldass city that everyone should visit. It is. It’s been so good. I don’t want to leave. Don’t listen to the narratives. Also, the West Loop is like this is one of the more popular areas and uh there’s some of the best restaurants. Fton Market’s like a few blocks away from here. It’s fantastic. Great restaurants, drinks, and it’s I’m definitely going to have to find some places to try. Kumas, Ashal. There’s so many. Oh, you got to go to Smashall. There’s so many things you got. You’re just going to have to stay through you’re going to have to stay through end of December. You’re going to have to extend your trip. You can’t miss Christmas. There’s not there’s not enough time to to do everything. Honestly, everything I’ve got like a list of things that people have given to me and I’m like, I’m not going to be able to get through all of these. There’s not enough time in the day and there’s not enough days in the week. How do you like the United Center? So good. Yeah, it was so loud and like just busy and like people were cheering. I’m like, “What are they cheering about?” She was like, “Oh, it’s something on the screen.” I’m like, “Oh, okay.” Like I had no idea what was going on, but it was good. That’s great. Yes. Tonight’s uh was a different experience than Yeah. U night full house, lots of Leafs fans. Yeah. That felt more like, you know, how it used to be here every night. Yeah. Uh when the games mattered. So definitely a good uh a good game to get to. I actually during the first intermission I went to meet Charlie the bacon guy. He um another one of our Yeah. We had to like meet in the middle and I I missed part of the second period because it was so busy trying to get back. I was like trying to squeeze through and everyone’s trying to squeeze through so it was difficult but it was good. Did he give you some bacon though? No, he gave me a signed Lucas Reluck from Josh. Awesome. Josh passed it to him to pass to me. That’s nice. Yeah, bacon. Got that. So, thank you Josh. He gave us bacon tonight. Thank you Charlie for the pocket bacon. It was in his pocket for like 2 hours, right? He literally Maybe I don’t want that. Like he put it in raw, so by the time he pulled out, it was cooked. So yeah, it was pocket bacon. Yeah. Still bacon. Exactly. Still good. Uh All right. Well, we’re glad you’re here. We’re glad you’re having a good time. Me, too. I’m glad I can finally sit down and relax after, of course. Hectic few days. How do you like the studio? It’s good. When we walked in here, I didn’t know where to go and it was dead silent and I was like, I know this is CHDO, but where is every I didn’t realize how big it was? Saturday. We pranked you though. We pranked you. I was like, “The lights are all off. It’s dark. It’s I can’t hear anything. We’re the only people here today.” Yeah, I figured. And then I was like, “Oh, it’s okay. It’s this way.” We keep it We keep it moody. Yeah, we keep it moody. All right. Well, we’re glad you’re here. We’re glad you had a good time. Um, and we’re Is it surreal to be in the studio you see so many times? Yeah, I because I don’t know what it looks like cuz I just see this or I see the other studio. So, I don’t know what the rest of And I I really didn’t realize it was as big as it is, but it is quite big. Well, now I get Mario. Yay. cuz he’s joining us from United Center. We’ll get him up here in a second. There he is. Mario, we have a we have a we have a guest in studio. You’ve been replaced. Sorry. Oh, man. Does this mean I have to go to England? Yes. You got to cover uh this the trade. Third third Crystal Palace. Third tier British soccer. All right. We do have some news to get to. How’s going to hang out? Uh but Nick Fino is injured. That’s the big news of the day. four weeks plus they said and I think I saw Tab say he left in a cast. Uh that would be Tab’s vision. Um I didn’t uh I didn’t I didn’t see that but I mean based off of what Jeff Blash had to say um yeah I mean that would that would kind of make sense given the at least four week um estimation by by by Jeff. And um I think Tracy Myers said, you know, are we talking about a break? And he kind of shrugged his shoulder and was just like, yeah, kind of. So that’s uh that’s that’s a tough blow uh tonight in a game that you you come away feeling again like really good about obviously the result, but the process in which they got there and to lose a guy like Nick Fino who’s really important to the team both on and off the ice, like that’s a tough blow. Yeah. Uh, so he said at least four. Yeah, I mean he’s he’s he’s not trying to, you know, be Dr. Luke Richardson, but um three weeks. Smart move. He he did, you know, he did say four weeks, maybe less, maybe more. But I mean, I I think if you’re if you already kind of have a timeline in your mind, you know, the the injury and what it usually would take. So I I think I think we’ll we’ll probably see Nick Felino in a few weeks and put it that way. All right. Well, it was a good win. Uh, two points against a decent team, we think. Uh, and we started the show talking about Ardum Levchov and how good he was. Uh, and how confident he’s playing. Uh, I’m I’m assuming that was addressed postgame. Yes, I sent a Levino clip. So, if we just want to roll right into that, that was uh that was one of the the topics of discussion. All right, let’s do it if it’s ready. No, the left shot postgame video. Do we have that from Bashel? The way that second period went, it could have been kind of tough for you guys. Just to say about this team that come back from Yeah, we have the same Yeah, it’s it’s been a production issue filled evening um with the curtain getting stuck at the United Center, which was just an encapsulation of the whole night. Ultimately, it worked out, but the route there maybe not the cleanest. Yeah, it was just a metaphor for the entire evening. Um, yeah, that was a little um strange, but they got through it. Yes. And so, and now we have Jeff. Um, Marty was excellent for the majority of the game tonight. Um, you know, I thought I thought I think he’s played very very well over the last few weeks. Um, you know, I thought there was a couple chances he gave up in the last couple games that I wanted to make sure that he eliminated. And overall though, you know, Art Ry and I talked about he’s got to attack the game and um, you know, so with him learning how to attack the game without taking on unneeded risk, that’s a process. And it’s and I’m okay with that process cuz in the end for Arty to be great, um, I think he’s got to be a guy that attacks the game and that’s what he’s been doing lately for sure. Um, you know, I think on the power play end zone, he does a really good job of being efficient. Um, he takes what’s given. think he distributes the puck at the right time on on on the tape. And I think that’s an a little bit of an unheralded skill like getting the puck to Connor when he’s exactly in stride, getting the puck to be cost is exactly in stride. Like that’s a big part of having a real efficient power play. So he’s gotten points there, but I also thought today he kind of really attacked it and had moments of really taking over. Obviously was real close to scoring. Attack the game. That is a really good way to describe how he played tonight. Yeah, that’s exactly what what he I mean, he had he had jumped from from the very first shift he took. Um, I think he’s, you know, we heard from Tavo and Colton and and and Frank Nazar after after the game and each one of them was asked about, you know, Levchov and the way he played and it sounds like the group has made a concerted effort to kind of get on him about not having scored his first goal yet. So, he looks like he’s uh he’s determined to stop being bullied in the locker room about not having that first goal. Um and and he’s the team’s better for it for him playing that way. And uh it’s just been a lot of fun watching his development this year. Um and you know, you roll roll the calendar back a month ago and he’s getting scratched on the the home opener and we’re all kind of freaking out and now he’s completely flipped uh the script on on how his season has has been going. And uh I mean I I think he’s he’s earning a lot of trust. uh from the coaching staff and and and from his teammates and he’s showing what made him such a highly touted defenseman. And I think, you know, he keeps putting in games like this. It’s not going to be too long until we might be talking about Ardum Levchenov being right next to Alex Vlic getting the most minutes uh amongst the defenseman per game. Yeah, he’s he’s certainly starting to earn it. And we were talking to like the vote of confidence of being put on the top power play unit. It seems like and look he was playing pretty well up to that because he earned that opportunity but then it feels like since then there’s been another level added to his game where that belief is certainly there for him where he’s more frequently activating taking the puck in deep you know circling the zone doing all the sort of things that you don’t typically see defenseman do especially look the Hawks have a lot of good defenseman they don’t have anyone like Lev that moves the puck that well, the carries the puck that well. Uh, and for him to be moving that that Ryan Green goal was all him. Not to take anything away from the shot that Ryan Green made. Great. He was ready for it. Terrific. But just the confidence that Leb showed on that play and all day was really impressive to me. Yeah, it was the full full RD experience. No one within 15 ft of him and he falls down. But then he gets back up, cycles through the entire offensive zone, and finds a a wide open Ryan Green. Like, it’s again, it’s just those you’re still going to get those moments where you’re your heart skips a beat with Lev, but sometimes there for moments like that where it’s like he might fumble a puck or something, but then there’s al also moments where sometimes in the same shift, he’s he’s making something positive happen. So, I think it’s just again, it’s just that that growth and development and just getting more comfortable in the NHL and with the group. And I mean, it’s he’s he just turned 20. Like, this is this is a defenseman that is still very young, still very, you know, raw in his NHL career. Um, but we’re seeing him grow every game. It’s it’s it’s been really positive. Well, let’s uh we haven’t really there have been there were some negative things to talk about in this game and I I don’t want to do this after a win, but as expectations grow, our analysis has to grow too, right? And our we got to get a little more granular on things. And that goal, the Ryan Green goal came at the end of a shift where the Maple Leafs looked like they were completely uninterested in competing in hockey. I was just going to say Craig Buby is going to have a field day in the video room on that goal because Leonov skated all around the zone and there wasn’t a white sweater within nobody stepped up to try and stop him. It looked like they were on the power play. They weren’t. And remember right before that is when Felo had the puck behind the net. He walked out in front and I think even he was like is no one going to check me. He turned to his forehand and put two shots on goal before a leaf even looked at him. And then that whole sequence continued. And yeah, the Leafs were out of gas, but they were out of gas cuz they weren’t performing. And I felt like, okay, you got that first goal, you’re all over them. And then it gets away from them. And the Leafs from basically from that goal until maybe the middle of the second period were really in control of the game. The Hawks even things out as a 83 Hawks at when they scored the goal. The Maple Leafs led 14-10 at the end of the period, right? And then they they figured it out as the second period went on because if you look at the shots on goal, it was 115 for the Hawks in the second, but shot attempts was 1611 for the Leafs. I just they’ve got to stop having these lapses in games. And when there is an opponent on the ropes, I want to see them put them away because now they’re good enough to do that. We have seen that they’re not just hanging on for dear life every game and needing every bounce to go their way. They are good enough to dictate the play. And when the Maple Leafs are ready to tuck their tails and go home, let them get up two nothing, 3 nothing, put them away. And I think that was a bit of a missed opportunity tonight. A just just a small frustration on an otherwise really good night. Yeah, I mean Jeff, you know, Jeff Blash kind of expanded on somewhat on that topic in in in his postgame. Um, talking about how the the team has seen kind of their their their es and flows from period to period this season. Um, I mean, when you look at it, the first period and third period have been good for the Blackhawks this year. um they have a a positive goal differential in both those periods. But yeah, it’s that second period where it’s just like it seems like they still have struggles whether it’s with the you know the the difference in the change uh from from first period to second period, whether it’s you know teams just push back on them and they still are figuring out how to how to handle it. Um, there’s still things that you would want them to be h have have be cleaned up, but I think it’s it’s it’s a double-edged sword really because I think that I think that the Blackhawks are really good at starting games, but it’s just we haven’t seen that sustained from the first to second period and sometimes we haven’t even seen it like tonight, we haven’t seen it sustained from the first minute of the first period to the 20th minute of the first period because it’s now was it back-to-back games where they’ve allowed a first period a tying goal in the final minute of that first period. So like it’s you get to that final 60 seconds and like you want to go into the second period feeling good having a lead especially knowing that that’s the period that you’ve had the most struggles in um so far this season. So, yeah, I I I really would hope that eventually you can see that kind of turn a corner because if this team plays it the way that they’ve been playing in first periods and third periods um and you you clean things up in the second period, like they’re they’re going to be even more dangerous than than they have been playing right now. And um you know I asked I asked Blashel uh about that um specifically for their third period success and you know is there anything that you can that he could point to um where that change comes in where it’s second periods you’ve struggled third periods have been their best period all season. Half of their goals that they have scored this season have come in the third period 30 of 59. They’re only behind the Colorado Avalanche who have only one regulation loss this season in third period goal differential at plus 16. Yeah. So I I so I I again he he said there’s really nothing that you can point to X’s and O’s wise. Um but he did credit the team for being able to kind of flow with the game and when they get pushed back upon in the second period they’re able to return the favor in the third period and it’s worked out for them. All right. All right. What else did we uh hear from Jeff Flashley we need to share with the with the kids? I got two more. So, we’re going to go with uh we’ll go with the more hockey one. Um he was asked about, you know, expectations and how the team has kind of turned the narrative uh from the outside perspective from the beginning of the season to now. And um I thought he had just a really good answer about moving forward and and how they’ve been playing and what he attributes that to and how they can continue it um and try and sustain that sess success through the rest of the season. 93 in the last 15. At some point it’s not just PDO or goalending. I mean have your own expectations of this team changed in the last month or so? You know I started the year without any expectations. I just didn’t know what to expect. you know, we we had a group of guys that um that I knew were talented and I thought if we could mature our game, we could become a really good team because if you have talent and you play mature, that equals a lot of success. Um you know, as we’ve grown, I’ve continued to say to them, we can be a really good team. We just got to do the right things. And if we do those, we can be a really good team. We got to choose that. We got to choose to be that type of team. And I think for the most part, we have. Are we going to have some growing pains? Yes. Um but we’re choosing, we’re making the right choices on a daily basis. and and to me, um, that’s how you end up, uh, being successful as a group. So, I don’t really have any further, uh, expectations. Let’s just go out, continue to get better here. We’re going to practice Monday, find a way to to to play a great game on Tuesday. So, you don’t want to predict playoffs, right? I’m not, you know, again, for me, I just don’t I don’t think that way. And I know it sounds coach speak, but it’s not. I just don’t think that way. I I I I think it’s that’s that’s asking yourself to to try to control stuff you can’t control. What we can control is coming Monday and getting better. and then coming Tuesday and playing good hockey. That’s all we can control. Uh interesting. By the way, yesterday they worked on ch like changing on the fly the long change. Yeah, they did. It was one of the things they focused on in practice. All right, Holly got Holly got to do the honors. Is he on? She got it. He takes a minute. There we go. There it goes. 518 likes. We like that. He is very noisy. That’s why he’s only on for like 15 seconds at a time. Um well with the I know we have a little something else you want to share from Jeff Flash and it kind of goes along with Noodle Man. You want to you want to talk your way into it? Absolutely. He you know this was the first game uh in the last 14 that there were six defenseman different than their 11 forwards and seven defenseman setup. So he was asked about the defensive rotation. Can you comment on how you feel the six defenseman did overall tonight? Um, yeah. I thought, you know, honestly, I think our DA played pretty good overall. And whether it’s six or seven, it to me it’s not Oh, did I just do that? I didn’t even do it on purpose. Whether it’s whether it’s six or seven, uh, uh, you know, they they they played pretty well and I thought our D did a good job tonight. Um, but that’s not to say that, you know, we won’t go back with seven. Uh, you know, we’ll we’ll make the decision against Calgary, but uh I have confidence in in our decor either way. Man, he’s he’s on one today. He was doing the uh come on Eileen dance before the game and then he’s doing 67 post game. 67 is officially dead. He’s got to he’s got to he’s got to reach the youths. He’s got a young team. Oh yeah. So many kids got the come Eileene dancing reference earlier today. This is me in college like oh god. This is this is an alltime Jeff Blashel day. I’ I’d have to say it really is. You know what? You could be you could be as silly as you want to keep winning games. That’s all that matters. That’s it. Exactly. Listen, I mean, as as much as you know, we we have had to endure some some rough uh vibes the last few years. Uh they they haven’t been higher than I than I’d say right now. So, um I think this this team is is enjoying the uh success that they’re on and I think that they have the they have the pieces to kind of lean into it, keep it going and and I and I I mean you you look at the group, the young guys and and what they’ve done to kind of put some energy in this organization and and everybody feeds off it from obviously from Jeff Blashel uh on down. So, um, yeah, I mean, it’s it’s it’s a good it’s a good feeling. I I think even something as silly as this, um, you know, if the team was had five wins instead of, you know, where they’re at right now, like it’d feel a little different. This one you can actually like lean into, enjoy, and feel like you got some um some positivity uh moving forward. All right. Anything else before we spring you? Uh oh, Greg, you mentioned um Craig Buru uh going over film. Does he have their next film session? Is he involved in that? I don’t know. It would be hilarious because that would mean this would be the second straight job the Blackhawks got him fired from because his last game as Blues coach was a loss to the Blackhawks. So, uh that would be hilarious. Um, but you know, I don’t know. I don’t think you can fire your coach when your best player is out of the lineup. Yeah, it’s rough. That’s rough. Yeah. I mean, who makes the rules? But I mean, it’s the Leafs. So, the Leafs are going to leaf when they leave. So, we’ll see what they do. You know what I know is there’s a lot of great coaches available right now. Like, what are you going to do? Yeah, definitely. That’s their problem. Enjoy that Toronto when they’re ready to sell. We got We got room for William Knander on this team. It’s not. We have to create We have to finish the Triforce of Knanders. Mhm. Michael, Alex, and William. We got to get all three. Collect all the stones. Collect them all. Yeah, that’s right. Exactly. One stone not as bright as the other ones. That’s for damn sure. All right, buddy. Thank you. We’ll talk to you uh Monday. All right. See you guys Monday. All right. That is uh Have fun in Have fun in Rockford, Holly. It’s It’s great. Sure. I will. You might be the first person to travel overseas to go directly to Rockford. Not for a business trip. Yeah, probably. Or a Cheap Trick concert. That too. Yes. Cheap Trick is a band, Sarah. They were from Chicago. Yeah, I don’t know. You don’t know Cheap Trick? No. She doesn’t Rage Against a Machine. I know. All right, Mario. Drive safe. All right, see you guys. All right, see you. Uh, that’s Mario Turbosi from the United Center. Follow him on Twitter, Mario Tierbosi. Uh, we are 57 minutes into the show. Yes, we have to go to the frat house. We will, but we have not said one name this entire show and the Hawks won the game. Actually, two names we haven’t said this entire show and the Hawks won the game. We have not said Spencer Knight and we have not said Conor. No, I was going to say Sam Laferty. Well, that either or Landon Slagert. Well, there’s a lot of names we haven’t said, but the ones we usually say, right, have not been said. So, the point streak is over for Bard. They had him out there for the empty net. Um, but wasn’t from a lack of trying. Five shots on goal, 10 shot attempts. That’s what you want to see. That’s fine. I have no concerns. Uh, had a couple shots that got blocked. He trust me, he would rather have no points in the Blackhawks win than have him five points and the Blackhawks lose. Yes. And we should, by the way, Spencer Knight was dynamite in this game. He is not one of our game pug nominees, but he stopped 31 to 33 shots, many of them challenging. Uh, so honorable mention to uh Spencer Knight. All right, let’s go to the Fred House and then we’ll reveal the winner of our game puck and then we will go home. Yes, sir. All right, Fred House start today is Ardam Lechnov. One assist, 2134 of ice time. Pulling up the ultimate numbers here. Four shots on goal, five shot attempts, two hits, four block shots. He was the most noticeable player on the ice for either team. More of that, please. Yes. Yes. every dang night. This is going to be when this team is winning again, contending again for a cup, your number one defenseman. Certainly looking that way. I’m more confident about it now than I’ve ever been. Certainly looking that way. And speaking of Moshinov, I believe Sarah, if I’m not mistaken, he is also the winner of our game puck. That is correct. What was the percentage for party? We have over 430 votes and about 65% voted for Arty. About 25 voted for Doc and about 10% voted for Tavo. That’s awesome. Can we also talk about give a shout out to Jeff Blash for being on his game tonight giving a 55 second answer to the question and already left off. What? That is impressive. I mean the 67 and that I mean he’s on it. When you’re on a heater, you’re on a heater. All right, let’s we’re going to go to overtime just for a minute or two because we want to get a couple final thoughts in from Holly. And you were asked this today on the video board. If you want to keep watching, by the way, allgo.com, uh, YouTube, all that stuff. Um, how did you become a Hawks fan? I know the story. You’ve talked about it with us before, but why don’t you share with the rest of your friends why you’re a Hawks fan? I got into hockey because I was friends with some people through motorsports and they are American and Canadian and they would talk about hockey in front of me and I had absolutely no idea what’s going on and I sort of got FOMO because they’re talking about all these things and I’m like I don’t know I’m just going to sit here and watch and it wasn’t a big group chat so I was like I don’t know what’s going on. So I thought okay I’ll try and get into it and the only player that I really knew was Conor Badard because there seems to be a big overlap with F1 fans and Connor Badard fans. Not sure what that’s going on there but interesting. And so I knew him and I knew when I looked at this um schedule that night that the Hawks were playing and I was like, “Well, I might as well. I know one of their players, so it’s something.” And the first game I actually watched and people are going to be mad at me for this. Please don’t be mad. Was they played against Detroit and Patrick Kane scored the overtime winner in the United Center. And I remember going, “Oh, they lost.” Cuz I had no idea. I didn’t I didn’t know hockey isn’t a thing in the UK. So I didn’t I had never heard his name. I didn’t know anybody. And it wasn’t until after like a couple months later I went back to see which game it was cuz I remember they were playing Detroit cuz I was like it’s two red jerseys. I don’t know how to work out who’s who. I was like so confused and I looked and I was like it was that game. It was that overtime winner. People are going to be really mad that I don’t know who that is. But it’s not my fault. Well, you know you know who he is now and that’s important. Yeah, I do know who he is now. Well, it’s really cool that you have been such a fan for such a short time and you’ve really put in the work and you’ve watched it and you’re you’ve gotten to the point where you flew to the States to watch a game, you’re on a scoreboard, you’re meeting players, listening to the best podcast in the country, actually and ours, too. I think I told you this before. The way I learned about hockey was because I got into hockey, it was just after Connor got back from his broken jaw, so there was only a few weeks left of the season. And the way I learned a lot of it was I would go and I watched every single game in order and after every game I watched I would watch the postgame show from here that’s dedicated so that I could learn and I remember getting really excited because I would watch a game and I would think that was a bad play by Taylor Radish and I would turn the show on and Jay would go that play that Taylor Radish made was not very good and I was like yes I’m learning I understand things now. So when I could pick out things before you had said them I was like okay I’m getting somewhere now. So I yeah it took a while but I’m getting there and I understand more now and here I am. That’s great. And uh people are asking what’s your F1 team? McLaren Oscar Pastri specifically. Okay. Yeah. All right. I totally controversial. Yeah. That’s a big blind spot for me. Uh our good friends are big F1 fans and I know they are McLaren. That’s the orange, right? Orange. Yeah. Yeah. That’s really all I know. Yeah. I watch F1 and Indie Car. Indie Car is more American because they only race here. Okay. All right. Yeah. The whole getting up at 4 in the morning to watch it. I’m see that’s why I got into uh Right. football. We call it soccer. Um after the two World Cups ago, like I’m going to get a team. And then it was just like I just don’t have time to commit a fandom to another team. And it was getting up at 5 or 6 in the morning to watch Liverpool. I still watch them from a distance. Big games I’ll watch. I’m up on the roster. I’m a fan of Liverpool, but like I’m not a liver. If they lose, I’m like, “All right, if they win, cool.” That’s about it. Just a team I cheer for and who I use in FIFA. I picked uh when I first I got into the Premier League when they when NBC got the rights and it was much easier to watch and uh because I love underachieving teams that heart break your heart every season. I became a Spurs fan and that’s all I do is just underachieve. Well, from what I understand, that’s what Liverpool was before before they got they hired Jurgen Klopp. Before they got that money. Well, that too. That helps, too. Anyway, all right. We are going to wrap things up. Thanks to Holly for hanging out with us for the second half of the show. Thank you for having me. Rock Vegas. Enjoy tomorrow. What is the thing called? The pig slop. Is that the uh fries covered in barbecue sauce? Yeah. I don’t know. I don’t know if Holly’s going to go British stomach can handle that. I think I’ll pass. Yeah, it’s probably we’ll stick to like a hot dog, something safe. There you go. Um, yes, but hopefully uh Holly is the uh streak breaker cuz the Ice Hogs are uh they’ve been losing a lot lately. So, Holly brought home a win today. Holly will be the uh three points on the trip. Are you going to be watching the Chicago Bears game tomorrow at all? No. No. Okay. I’ve never watched American football. I was going to say tomorrow is a very big day, especially in the great state of Illinois. The Bears are playing. Yeah, you should come here on a Bears game day if you want to see people. I was going to say it will be a lot busier tomorrow starting around 10:30 in the morning. We’ll be we’ll be on the road to Rockford during the second half of that game. Yes, we will be. Go Ice Hogs. I hate to I got to warn you both by the way. Greg is in charge of the music. She has a bone to pick with you about that. She is a huge Taylor Swift fan and she was not happy with what you said the other day when you said Taylor Swift is banned. She went so she was not pleased. We could listen to Taylor Swift the whole way in your car. That’s how that works. That’s what it is in her car. so far. See, that sounds that sounds fair. All right, I I we we’ll have that. You guys are going to learn about Grand Funk Railroader, right? And you’re going to like it. We’re going to be sat in the back of the car looking at each other like All right, we’ll talk to everybody. Where are we back? We’re off tomorrow. Do we work Monday? I don’t know. Monday’s practice. Well, Holly knows more. Mario’s going to practice. Uh yeah, we’re off Monday, too. So, we’re back uh Tuesday postgame. Calgary. By the way, if you’re going Tuesday like Holly, my uncle will be honored as the veteran of the game. So, good times. My uncle Frank gonna love it. Maybe he’ll come here and do the postgame show. Who knows? We’ll talk to you then after Hawks and Flames on the CHDL Blackhawks podcast presented by Bet 365. [Music] [Applause] [Music]

  1. I think a question to ask with Lev is would you give up Frondell to have Demidov? At this point, I am not so sure it would be a slam dunk. Frondell could end up bring great

  2. At what point do we start conspiricy theories around the refs and the hawks? Did the league want us we compete for McKenna to have him and Bedard together? I am not saying that is it… It is just truly mind boggling at this point and i don't know what to make of it

  3. Eh, no not sure.. if there is an infraction the play is dead. They did not deserve to be scored on, they needed to go to the pp, not Canada refs are proven bias by their work game in game out..

  4. the 2025 draft was light on quality RH defenseman. GMKD nearly hit a Homerun in 2024 by getting 55 right handed defenseman that KD knew would not be available in the 2025 draft and Demidov. Instead, he got a Levshunov and he still got a potential top 6 forward in Fondell. Fondell has a different skill set than Demidov but yet still considered a potential top 6. Also, as afterthought. Having RHD Levshunov made it easier to trade RHD Jones which netted the Hawks Knight and a 1st.
