MPJ’s ready for this new chapter ✍️ #michaelporterjr #nba #brooklynnets

My dad put the ball in my hand when I was three years old. And at that time, you know, I just knew I like going out in the backyard and shooting on the low hoop. It was just fun. As I got a little older, I played other sports as well. Football, baseball. And I remember probably in fourth or fifth grade, my dad was like, “Yo, you got to pick one if you want to be really good at one. Like, you can play all these sports. You want to be good at one, you got to focus on it.” So, at that age, I picked basketball. And then from there on, it just required a lot of sacrifice. I remember winning my first AAOU national championship in fifth grade, you know, so we were the number one team in the country. I remember the first time I got ranked nationally was 8th grade. I think I got ranked like 25th in the country. And from that point on, I just kept working until I’m the best player in the country, you know. Ended up going to Nathan Hail my senior year of high school out in Seattle. Played for Brandon Roy. Got a lot of experience from him, you know, being around Brandon Roy dayto day and then uh committed to Missou. Porter Jr. for three and it’s good. You know, had some injuries and some obstacles I had to work through. So, didn’t really get to play much in college, but got drafted the next year. Michael Porter Jr. from the at 14 to the Nuggets and spent the last seven years there. Ended up winning a championship, which was obviously the highlight of my NBA career thus far. But when I got that call from my agent that I was coming out here to Brooklyn, I was very excited coming out here and then meeting everybody and seeing how they treat the players and just I feel accepted and I feel ready for this new chapter of my career. So, I’m ready to get it going.

  1. I dead ass feel bad for MPJ. He should be on a contending team contributing to potential playoff hopefuls… but he has to be on our bum ass team. For his sake and his mental state, I hope he’s traded at the deadline for some picks.
