[McDonald] “6 Goalies That Should Be on the Oilers’ Trade List”
November 16, 2025
Binnington is mentioned.
Unless it’s a king’s ransom, they aren’t trading him. Hofer’s struggles to start the season make it even less likely IMO.

I would trade Binnington for McDavid
I mean. Hofer AND Binner are struggling.
Does Edmonton have anything we need though because we need to address our defense first
Edmonton would have to get a third team involved because we would want a goalie and defense back. Not to keen on several of the Oilers D-men.
Love Binnington, and yet it’s time to start selling what we can for draftpicks, preferably good draft picks.
It won’t happen, because ownership doesn’t have the heart/money to weather the storm of a real rebuild.
Binner and schenn for tage Thompson
For everyone who doesn’t think the Blues should trade Binnington, I’m curious as to how long they think it will be before the Blues are worth a damn again. Right now, we have a turd team with a middling propsect pipeline. This team isn’t hard to watch because they’re bad. They’re hard to watch because this half assed retool gives us a team with no direction for the future.
Binnington has one year left on his contract, has underperformed all year, and has overall been inconsistent. The Blues should absolutely listen on him.
They don’t need to force it, but it doesn’t need to be a king’s ransom either.
Hofer is probably ready to take over, and if he isn’t, you go out and find an option.
It really isn’t that hard to find a serviceable NHL starter. If someone wants to overpay for Binnington bc he won a Cup 6 years ago and played well in an exhibition tournament last year, then let them.
Don’t give him away, but you probably should be signing him to another big deal anyways, so if a logical trade is offered, consider it.
