Can Mendoza be our Bo Nix?

  1. The jets are incapable of drafting and developing a qb. We would be better off trading down and asset collecting for more talent and depth at no nonsense positions.

  2. lol ya if Aaron Glenn could be our Sean Payton. We would have absolutely destroyed Nix’s development.

  3. You guys are delusional with this shit. It isn’t about what QB we take with our first round pick. Darnold, Geno, Rodgers…they all played for us and we still sucked.

It’s about the fact that we have an owner who inherited all his money and has never won at anything in his life. Look at other NFL owners who win. They’re not the same.

  4. Mendoza has played 3 games this year where the opposing defense will have at least 1 player drafted.

In those 3 games close games he’s gone 52/84(61.9%) with 660 yards, 4 TD and 3 int.

But it’s likely any QB drafted this year would be closer to whatever Penix is for the Falcons then Bo Nix on a winning team.

  5. The media market in NY eats these guys alive. No one will succeed unless the team somehow can insulate them from the media

A guy like Josh Allen would be in career hell the second he started slow, even ignoring issues with coaching and ownership

  6. A wildly inconsistent QB who will look like a top 10 QB one week and question why he’s in the NFL next week?

Absolutely. We call that the Mark Sanchez Experience here.

The Jets are not that bad at drafting QB’s. We’re god awful at developing them. What we really need is solid ownership and coaching that can develop our high draft picks.

  7. I’m def not going to be a Boliever until I see him carry a team without a stacked defense. With the defense we have, we’ll need a much better QB than Bo Nix to get to a 9-2 record.

  8. Honestly I don’t think Bo Nix is that great. Come at me if I’m wrong but they will be one and done in playoffs and miss next year. They are having a one off year where they win close games. I say the same with Daniel jones. At the end of the day Allen / Jackson / Mahomes will somehow beat them

  9. Dude everyone needs to chill out in here lol. Of course Mendoza could be our Bo Nix. The real delusion here is people thinking a great QB can’t change a bad situation.

The lions had it worse than us and they got things fixed, the bills had it worse than us and they got things fixed, the commanders had it worse than us and they have reason to be optimistic. Look at the bears right now!

Sam Darnold got boned by the Jets, but he was just as bad if not worse with Carolina and Joe Brady.

It is certainly possible we draft a QB good enough that can lift the franchise up. Whether or not it will happen is a question but it’s certainly possible.

  10. This guy really isn’t it. They are a flukey team built off a very well constructed and run defense. They remind me of the 2022 Vikings. Almost all of there wins are extremely close 1 score games Hell, they barely beat us and the Giants. They aren’t winning shit in the playoffs.

  11. Nix had that one good throw down the sideline, other than that, it felt like watching every Jets QB since Darnold left

  12. I no longer think Mendoza will be an option. Too many bad teams and not sure if the Jets will or should use multiple picks to trade up.

  13. Nix was great the last few games of last season. He is having a sophomore slump. But it could be worse. Stroud certainly hasn’t been able to replicate his rookie year and Lawrence has had one good year.

  14. Wait. Are you implying Bo Nix is a great QB? Because I disagree with that premise. Wildly inconsistent would be a more apt descriptor.

  15. That depends is that idiot owner going to actually invest in protecting his new QB if he does he will win you a lot of games.
