That’s very interesting. I don’t know a ton about the different defensive metrics. I would be interested to see/am going to look into what the course of his season looked like on both metrics. Just by the eye test, he started the year as one of the worst anyone has ever seen and pretty darn quickly developed into the high side of average. He looks to me like he still gets a subpar jump/read on the ball more often than nearly every other CF in the game, but he’s just so much bigger and faster than everyone he’s making nearly all the routine plays and even some plays that nobody else could likely make.
Hopefully he’s getting out of the mindset of being able to throw out everybody at home. There were too many bases given up because he wouldn’t throw a cut able ball. I’m sure it will come with more experience.
