THIS WOULD BE A DISASTER! Jay Glazer Drops MAJOR GIANTS RUMORS on Head Coach Search

Yo, what’s going on everybody? You’re watching Giants Now by Chat Sports. I am your host, Marshall Green. Appreciate everybody for stopping by. Not yet at the studio today. We’re going to get you guys a video as soon as possible. Major head coaching rumors coming from Jay Glazer, the best NFL insider in the game, and we got to talk about it. Glazer on the NFL Fox, I believe, pregame show yesterday talked about the head coach opening said he spoke to Joe Shane this week about their plan. And he mentioned a couple of names that could be head coach candidates for the Giants. And I’ll just say this, if that is true, which I expect it to be, considering the long accurate track record of Jay Glazer, we are doomed. Ladies and gentlemen, it would be the worst possible case scenario if the New York Giants hired two of the names that Glazer talked about yesterday. He also talked about Joe Shane a little bit in his job security. So, let’s start with this. He said, “So, here’s the thing. They’re not going to have a coaching search that is going to span everywhere. They’re just not going to, you know, open up to everywhere, every possibility, and have, you know, 25 guys in. That’s problem number one. So, the New York Giants are going to run a small search and next to their for their next head coach that’s going to save this franchise as they have the second worst record in the National Football League in the last 10 years. Uh, Red X number one. I I can’t believe that’s even a thing. they’re not going to have a coaching search that is going to span everywhere. I just I don’t get it. Another thing he says, obviously, there’s two different lines of thinking that, you know, I talked to Joe Shane this week and obviously the first one is, hey, do we want to get a guy to come in and develop our young quarterback? He al said the other way is, do we get a guy to come in just for the culture? And then we got to have confidence he’s always going to have right coaches like Dan Campbell or Mike Tomlin. So it sounds like Joe Shane told Jay Glazer we could be looking at an offensive coach to develop Jackson Dart. We could be looking for a CEO culture establisher uh like a Dan Campbell or a Mike Tomlin one. He also went on to say that one place I don’t see them going to though is college. and he was asked about Lane Keifin and he quickly shot that down saying, “I don’t think they’re going to do that. I don’t think they’re going to go to the college route. He is a college coach.” Then he mentioned some names. Mike McCarthy, former head coach for the Green Bay Packers, most recently the Dallas Cowboys. We did a deep dive into Mike McCarthy as a candidate on the channel. Go check that out. And then he mentioned two names that made me crash out. Matt Naggie, former head coach of the Chicago Bears, and Arthur Smith, the former head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. And if the New York Giants hire either of those men, they are going to consistently do what they do best in the last 10 years, lose a lot of football games. Matt Naggie as a head coach coached the Chicago Bears from 2018 2021 and that would be four seasons and he went 34 and 31 they went 12-4 8 and 8 and 8 and then six and one. I am just not a fan of Matt Naggie. Um at Chat Sports we cover the Chicago Bears very closely. Um, I helped uh my guy Harrison Graham a lot when I first started at Chat Sports in 2021 cover the Bears and I watched every game that season of Chicago and yeah, I’m just not a fan of Mr. Matt Naggie. When it comes to Arthur Smith, he has been a coach in the National Football League head coach for three years. 2021, 2022, and 2023 with the Atlanta Falcons. 7 and 10. 7-10 and 7-10. And now he is the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers. And I just don’t know how you can watch what the Steelers have done over the last two years and say that is the coach that I want. They averaged the 16th most points last year and this year they average the 12th most points in the National Football League. If the Giants hire Matt Naggie or they hire Arthur Smith, I I am going to be very upset. And look, I’m not going to act like I know more than the New York Giants. It’s not a high high bar to clear, but that would be the absolute wrong people to hire. That would be a disaster. Please do not do it. He mentioned some defensive names as well, saying maybe somebody who’s had some experience on the defensive side of the ball like Spag, Steve Spagnolo, former Giants defensive coordinator, former Rams head coach, and now current defensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs. He also mentions Lou anumo we’ve talked about on this channel. He is the current defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts. Spent a chunk of time with the Cincinnati Bengals and he spent time with the Miami Dolphins with Joe Shane when they were both there. Then he mentions a name that we haven’t talked about on this channel. Excuse me. Chris Schula. Chris Schula, the current defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams. And that is a name that is starting to pick up some buzz. He said this. I’ll tell you this about Schula. Of all the coaches that Shawn McVey has kind of pushed along to be a new head coach, the next head coach, McVey has done more with Schula than all of them combined. These two guys are best friends. They went to college together. But he lets him in on everything. Where he may not have done that with everybody else, he does with Shoula. Shawn McVey thinks Shoula is going to be a star. And look, I don’t think it’s the worst idea in the world to try to pluck someone from the Shawn McVey coaching staff. Of all the names that were mentioned in this video, um, Mike McCarthy, Matt Naggie, Arthur Smith, Spags, Louis Anaruma, and Chris Shoula. He would be the number one on my list. I thought the Rams put on a clinic yesterday against the Seattle Seahawks, and they gave Sam Darnold the most fits. uh he has gotten all year long and he looked like the Sam Darnold that all Jets fans remember. So Schula of those names is the one that I am the most looking forward to. Again, I think Glazer is the best in the business. I think that we should pay attention to what he is saying as he was the one who reported the Odell Beckham trade back in the day. He has been right a lot about the New York Giants. He was the one on the Wink Martindale beef with Brian Dable way before everyone else had it. So, I would just listen to that. Hopefully, if it is true, Chris uh Chris Schula would be that guy. So, I think that means you can cross out Marcus Freeman. I think that means you can cross out Lane Keifin as he made it pretty clear they are not interested in going the college route. I still can’t believe that loss yesterday. It’s only the fourth time this year that they have lost a fourth quarter uh lead. Does Shane Bowen get fired today? The Giants have changed their practice schedule. One of the bigger changes so far under Mike Kfka is um I want to find the tweets so I can say it accurately, but the Giants are moving their off days for players from Tuesday to Monday. And that’s a big difference because most players, excuse me, already come in on Monday to get treatment and see the trainers and work on their body. So, it’s not really much of a of of a day um that you’re off. You’re already in the building. And I like it. Get them in the building, get to work. You’re two and nine. Um you need to be in that building as much as possible. Also, Mike Cafka is speaking to the media right now and he says Jackson Dar is still in the concussion protocol. So maybe he plays this week. He was at practice on Thursday. Uh very very limited. Very first steps of the concussion protocol. Hopefully he’s out there ASAP. But news of the day, Jay Glazer mentioning some head coach candidates for the New York Giants. Mike McCarthy, Matt Naggie, Arthur Smith, Spags, Lou Anaruma, and Chris Schula. Mike McCarthy, I look I understand you could convince me that it’s the right hire, the smart hire, the safe hire. Um all he did with Dallas was win 12 games when his quarterback was healthy. He had the number one scoring offense twice. It seems it seems like you’re swinging for the fences, but you’re only really trying to hit a single. Matt Naggie and Arthur Smith, it would be the worst hires possible. Spags, I I I I love Spags. I’m not sure he’s a head coach. Lu Anarumo, why are we hiring a person that’s ever been a head coach before, uh, that hasn’t even been an elite defensive coordinator just because he has ties to Joe Shane, of course. Chris Schula, though, a name I’m interested in and I’ll keep my eyes on him and we may do a video on him later in the week. Make sure you hit that thumbs up by button.   2. Why is a head coach even being possibly hired now if Joe Shoean is going to be reevaluated and possibly fired at the end of the season? MAKES NO SENSE.

    For the record, Mike Tomlin would be a dream come true but he is still someone else's coach right now. Mike McCarthy would work for me also. A head coach with a track record is really important to maximize Jaxson Dart's potential. Preferably an offensive guy.

  9. KAFKA .. love him or hate him.. last few years he has been interviewed by other teams for their head coach positions.. So, if not the Giants, he will be a head coach somewhere else.. and you know what.. With how everyone gets better when they leave the Giants.. How Ironic it would be for him to go to another team and be amazing there.. …. just sayin..

  27. Arthur Smith?! He's terrible. Wasn't he the guy that had Russ stop calling audibles after he roasted the Bengals (?) for over 400 yards? So in the second game it was Smith's super top secret run up the middle, run up the middle, pass to the flat and try not to get intercepted since everyone knows it's coming, then punt offense? They cannot be serious.

  31. Look you have to understand… That those people that created the problem are not capable of fixing this problem…! Now you see it goes right to the top… So, the Giants fan base will pay and will be the laughingstock of the NFL for cheer for a team that's organization is run by complete and total losers…. When the owner ship last season did not clean house and the Giants only won two games I said over and over that the Giants did not fix the problem that their record would be the same, because of that so far, the Giants are making my prediction spot on… I said this last winter, I said it again this spring and in preseason as well… I am right up until this point…! The biggest reason I said this is because a very smart man said longtime ago…! Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results… That same man said those people that created the problem would not be capable of fixing it, and to expect them of doing so is also Insanity…! Get your popcorn out a laugh at those moron…!

  34. Jay Glazer doesn’t realize that he’s being played to give a false narrative that the Giants are going to have a real HC search when its all smoke and mirrors as the Giants are pretty certain that they’re going to hire Kafka as the HC.
    The Giants made Kafka their assistant HC and gave him a raise to make sure he stayed because the front office loves the guy.
    The last thing the Giants want to do is for Dart to play under a new HC with a new system in his second year. Because as Mara said about Daniel Jones,,,, we’ve done everything possible to screw the kid up. So they’re not going to start screwing up Dart by changing Head Coaches with a new system. The writing is on the wall,,, if Kafka can turn things around where the team responds to him and plays well, he’ll be hired as the Giants HC at the end of the year.
    Imagine if they let Kafka go and he wins a championship as a Hc with another team. It would be worse than when they let their good players walk. The fans would go nuts knowing they had a great HC but ket him go like they did with Landry, Lombardi and Belichick

  48. 9:22 "Lou Anarumo. Why are we hiring a person that's never been a head coach before". Then proceeds to endorse Chris Shula, who has never been a head coach before either. I like Chris Shula, but Marshall's reasoning for disliking Anarumo was unjust. If it applies to certain candidates, it should apply to all candidates as well
