A lesson in Journalism, from Jim Leyland.

  1. A lesson in *access* journalism from Jim Leyland. It wasn’t like Peralta had a death in the family or some other personal issue they deserved privacy about. Our all-star shortstop got dinged for cheating.

  2. A starter on a World Series contending team gets suspended for PED use and the manager doesn’t want to discuss it?

Only in Detroit can you get away with this bitch made bullshit.

  3. I respect Jeff Riger, even if he’s an hugely annoying troll of a radio host.

Because when he’s covering a team presser, he is one of the very few guys in town who is not afraid to ask tough questions.

  4. These sports journalists have such a holier than thou attitude. Guys you aren’t covering war or a serious world issue, you guys are covering sports. That’s it

  5. I lowkey love Riger for that just cause I know he wasn’t trolling that’s really who he is

  6. That was cowardly by Leyland.

Would have been easy enough to say “we’re disappointed and still processing what is going to happen next”.

Making it a forbidden topic didn’t make the problem go away. It was just Leyland throwing a hissy fit.

  7. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I don’t mind Riger asking. I loathe pushover journalists more than I do annoying ones.
