This is EXTREMELY good news for the Blues…

This is extremely good news for the St. Louis Blues as we get a huge update on Jake Neighbors and how he’s progressing with his injuries which will have fans fired up. But not only that, Jim McGomery makes multiple changes to the lineup once again. And this has huge implications for the team heading into their next stretch of games. We’re going to break down this update on Jake Neighbors, the update on the new lines, and so much more in this episode. You’re not going to want to miss it. So Darius, let’s just dive straight into it today where they are heading on a road trip taking on a couple good teams and a couple struggling teams over the next away games. The biggest thing was with the St. Louis Blues is we’ve seen Jim Montgomery change the lineup quite a bit over the season and going into this new look lineup. We’re going to break down quite a few things, but what is your overall thoughts on the biggest things with BH slid down to the third line? What is your thoughts on how he set this up? Yeah, I kind of like it. And I think that Jim Montgomery probably took a trip to Costco before the season started and bought himself a new blender because the same lines have not been together for more than what, two games, I think, at this point, Mark, all season long. He’s just tried a bunch of different stuff. Like, I don’t know any other team, their money puck page that looks like this or any other page in terms of lineup combinations that look like what the St. Louis Blues have done so far this year. So still looking for some type of chemistry or just something consistently from this group. And when you look at the lineup, I mean, Holloway has had, you know, better games as of late. So putting him on the top line kind of makes sense to kind of get something going with Snugaroo and Thomas. And I mean, those are your top offensive guys, I think, at this point in terms of maybe goal scoring. I know Kyu could be, you know, clumped into that as well. But in terms of point production, goal scoring, trying to get something out of those top guys on the first line and then, you know, you’re messing with the rest of the lineup as well in terms of, you know, we did see a second line of just pure, you know, running around and trying to score goals last week. Now they moved away from that. Shen is still on the wing, but now he’s playing with D’Vorski and Kyu, which I think is interesting. We know that Shen and Kyu had something going last year, so we’ll see if they’re able to get any type of resurgence going in that way. BCH finally moves down in the lineup. He’s been awful lately. Everybody’s been talking about it. Everybody can see it. So, he moves down in the lineup. He’s done almost nothing this entire season. He makes $8 million. So, he’s making a lot of money for a guy who doesn’t really offer much anywhere on the ice. Like, if you’re not going offensively, and that happens over the course of a season or even defensively, you just got to contribute something and it’s got to be consistent if you want to play at the NHL level consistently. And he just hasn’t done anything. You can see over his last five games he has two points and one of them being a goal. So, he has not been good. But Mark, ultimately, I think, you know, they’re trying to find something going here. They have to continue to uh, you know, switch it up. And like you brought up to start the schedule. I think this is a crucial part of this season because we’re heading into Thanksgiving. Uh, and depending on where you are at Thanksgiving, you know, tells a story for the rest of the year. Of course, there’s been some, you know, you know, over the course of the years, it’s like some teams like the Blues a couple years ago, you know, change that narrative. But I think going on the road could possibly help this team because I don’t know what it is at this point. I don’t know if it’s the jerseys that are cursed, but they cannot win at home. And I think that’s the biggest thing. The new jerseys in the home arena has not been working for this Blues team. They need to go back to the alternate, which is the old jerseys from last year, and they’ve been winning in those. But the big thing with the line changes, we’re seeing this consistently happen when looking at money puck. The only two four lines when looking at this to play over 50 minutes or minimum 50 minutes, Tom on ice together is the BCH Thomas Snugrude and Holloway Shen Kyu. So there’s no consistency in this lineup. And listen, Jim Montgomery is trying anything to get a spark going. We know the team is struggling. We know what he can change up. We’ve seen Logan Mayu sent down and he’s featured a lot on the money puck, trying to play with everyone and their mothers at this point. But I think the biggest thing with the St. Louis Blues is they’re trying to get something going. They’ve dealt with injuries. So of course there’s going to be a lot of different line combinations. Jake Neighbors, who we’re going to touch on very soon, but BCH is the biggest thing. We’ve seen a very unproductive year. seven points over his first 19 games. Is it 18 games? Whatever it is, it’s unacceptable for an $8 million player over the last five games. Only having two hits and one block shot over that five game with this assist. This is unacceptable. And sending them to the third line is the perfect just, hey, get your head ready. We’re going to get you against lower competition. Not saying that people on the third line are always the worst, but you’re not going up against top end talent like he would be doing with the first line. So maybe this kind of juggles things, gets him back. Maybe he gets scratched. We’ve seen it with Kyu. We’re seeing it with this team. But they need the production getting better throughout the lineup. Just looking at it, a lot of these guys are underperforming. Robert Thomas missed time, but still leads the team in total scoring with this team. Darius, the biggest thing is, do you think this is the Lion combination? Listen, I’m not going to ask you, is this going to be the Lions till the end of the year? Because we know this has probably changed after this game, but do you think this is a way for him to just kind of get things rolling? see if BH can get it going with a guy like Sudter and Joseph or is this a demotion in your opinion? Well, it’s definitely a demotion. You can’t play on the top line and obviously you need to rely upon your top line to shut down the opposition’s you know top lines and top players as well. So, I I like that point that you brought up that you know he’s moving down the lineup. Maybe he can find something with Sudter there on the third line and Joseph who’s had a pretty decent season uh for everything that we talked about in the offseason. maybe they can find something there on that third line and he can get going here against lesser competition uh when playing the other team. So that would be nice. The one thing that really, you know, strikes me too when you look at the top scoring on on the Blues, you know, the uh top scorers on the Blues is, you know, BH is under Jake Neighbors and Jake Neighbors has played significantly less games. And I think that speaks volumes to what Jake Neighbors did to start the season, of course, but you’d like to see, you know, when you’re playing that many more games, you’d like to see more point production out of a guy that makes that much money, right? So, that’s something that really stuck out to me. But, uh, you know, speaking about Jake Neighbors, we have a major update on him as well, which Blues fans are going to love because like you talked about, you know, they’re trying to find some kind of combinations going here in the lineup, but I feel like they’re going to have to change him at some point this week anyway. Now, and I think that’s the biggest thing. Listen, fans, what is your thoughts on these lines going into the next stretch of games? Does this get changed by the Philly game, by the game? Let us know down in the comments. But let’s go straight into what you just alluded to and that is the fact that Jake Neighbors is not only skating but at full today. Not a part of the Lions but getting a lot closer. Now Jake Neighbors went down with an injury just a few weeks ago. But the biggest thing is this kid was stellar to start the season. Seven points in eight games including six goals. The Blues have dealt with a lot of injuries. We’ve seen it with Robert Thomas. We’re seeing him with Jake Neighbors. But Darius, what is your thoughts on Jake Neighbors inching closer to get into this lineup? This is big for this team because he was one of their best offensive uh you know guys to start the year, right? He had seven points and like you alluded to six goals of those seven points, right? So, he was electric to start the year. Uh almost a point a game player. They need him desperately back in the lineup because, you know, they have been putting up goals here and there, but they also can’t keep the puck out of their net, but just getting him back in the lineup will lengthen the lineup a little bit more as well. So, uh he’s a big part of this team. I’m glad that he’s nearing a return or getting closer to a return. Obviously, he still has to practice with the group and he has to get uh you know, we don’t know when he joins the group if he’s going to be wearing a non-cont jersey, stuff like that. So, uh we’ll keep an eye on that stuff. But the fact that he’s skating, like we talked about a couple days ago, he’s even on the ice earlier than we thought, I think. And Jim Montgomery, you know, was talking about how he has to pass a couple more protocols, like I think he said like six more things or something like that, which was the exact quote, I think. But, um, you know, all of that to say that looks like he’s nearing a return and they’ll need him because, you know, looking at the schedule like you brought up and I mean, he’s been great so far this year. Uh, hopefully going on the road can help this team, but you’re playing struggling teams coming up here. So, hopefully you can pick up some points. You know, Phil against Philly on Friday was horrendous. You have an opportunity now in their rank, you know, to really have a a revenge game, you know, make a statement there. Toronto has been struggling. like that is going to be one of the most interesting games of the year on the calendar across the NHL. That’ll be interesting. The Islanders too, like they’re getting good performances from certain players and Schaefer and all of that, but you know, they’re a struggling team. Like, you can pick up some points here, I think, especially on the road and obviously being on the road uh you know, bonds guys together. Sometimes they can get going there. So, that’ll be interesting. But, uh to get back to Neighbors for a second, he’s a big part of this team. They need him back. And I think it just makes the lineup better uh and lengthens it and that’ll help I think defensively with certain lines and line combinations. Well, fence, what is your thoughts on the Jake Neighbors news? What do you think they do on this road run? Do they go out and win all five games? Are they going to go home and win back to back? 1. Neighbours is far and away my favorite Blue lately. Hopefully we don’t rush him back in the lineup prematurely. Want him to be 100 percent first. But damn, his hole in the roster is felt

  2. Lets start from the beggining of the season… they bring in Mailloux touted as a PP specialist with a big shot and could be used for PK in situations. They toss him on the 3rd line and give him nothing minutes, which every coach in the league took advantage of. Zero PP time and no PK minutes. Send him down to the worst team in the AHL for some "confidence"! They have consistantly mixed up the lineup from game to game, giving zero chance of chemistry to anyone on the team and think this will work! I will be at Tuesdays game in Toronto and will heckle the coaching of the Blues shitty coaching decisions as loud as I can…I actually feel the players pain!So while were at it we can move our 8 Million$ power forward down to the 3rd line for some "confidence". When is someone going to call out lousy asset management?? They have the fkg talent!!

  3. Would the blues shake it up with a goaltending trade?montreal has monty, struggling and binner is,would they swap and this might give both a reset?

  4. Jake coming back is AMAZING news! And so excited to see him back in the lineup. Unfortunately, I don't think its gonna push this team to play any harder or play with more heart/urgency…

  5. I have thought that buch should have been with Suter for a while, I know $8 mil is a lot for 3rd line, but Suter has seemed to help a lot of guys find their games this year.

  6. Its not the new sweaters guys, come on! 😂 These boys need to pull together and play for each other and support one another every single day to accomplish anything good this year.

  7. It’s about time to shift 89 down to L3. Why Monty kept him 1st line idk…he wasn’t contributing offensively maybe Monty saw his defensive work good. In that case make him a D man lol.

  8. STFU about the damn jerseys. Team sucks. End of story. Saying they are cursed is as ridiculous as me saying you guys cursed us by making this channel. Did you curse the Blues?

  9. Old slow and gritty won't get you far the first half of the season. Might work the the second half of the season if still in playoff contention
