Aaron Rodgers suffers wrist injury in Steelers’ win vs. Bengals | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC
Monday edition of PFT Live. The Steelers got a muchneeded win. As I said last week, and some of the Steelers blogs made a big deal about it. I said it on our show. I said it on 937 The Fan in Pittsburgh. If the Steelers lost that game to the Bengals, they were done. They were done. And that just spoke to the desperation that activated. And they did get the win. But it comes with a question mark. Aaron Rogers left late in the first half. He didn’t miss any time in the first half, but he did miss all of the second half with what the team called a hand injury during the game. Then Mike Tomman called it a wrist injury after the game. Come back, wanted to come back, I’m told. I I’m told he wanted to come back. There are reports that they fear a slight break Yeah. in the wrist. They’re doing the imaging today. I tried to find out if he had X-rays that were negative last night. I mean, the way it was explained to me, if he’s trying to come back, the X-rays had to have been negative and and if they fear a slight break in the wrist, I mean, surely they x-rayed him at the stadium, but the imaging tests today are going to show exactly what how much time he’s going to miss. Sometimes those hairline fractures, you can’t see it with a normal X-ray. Sometimes that’s where you do have to go into some sort of CAT scan or whatever else that gives it a better look that way. So, yeah, we’ll see. But I I mean if you really look at it and there was one angle from behind where I mean you see the defender falls on his wrist like this, right? It falls on the wrist like the hand is over and it falls flat on it and it it it looked like you could break your wrist like that right there. So we’ll see where that goes. But nonetheless, pretty good showing by the Pittsburgh Steelers. I mean he was pretty efficient when he was in there. Mason Rudolph played well. We saw them run the ball. How much does that mean? I don’t know. Because the Bengals defense is so bad. It’s hard to really put any stock into that. But the defense made plays and did that. We saw Flacco fumbles, interceptions, everything that way. Um, so good win and a big moment for them. But yeah, still not one where you just go, “Oh, that was stellar.” And the Steelers are, you know, looking really good and on the right track again. No, it was a desperation. Had to have it. If you’re going to have any chance to win this division, you needed it because you’ve got to maintain your distance from your very narrow distance from the Baltimore Ravens. It was 13 to N. He threw the pick six, right? And you were you were going, “Oh man, the Bengals look like they’re going to go drive down drive here and make it 13 to 12 or maybe score a touchdown and take the lead.” And then Flaco throws the pick six to Kyle Duggar and the game is really never the same after that. That’s exactly the kind of moment that we said last week that that those are the games the Steelers win. Yeah. When there’s a special teams play or a defensive play that gives them a touchdown that they don’t need to generate offensively. Hi, it’s Mike Fuio. Thanks for watching PFT on YouTube. Florio has crush on Aaron Rodgers
End his season now. If Tomlin was any kind of coach he would have benched him last week.
Ducking the bears lol didnt want to go out like farve did
Chris Simms sucks
Dude keeps interrupting I hate that
The Bengals were doing their best to drill old man Rodgers into the ground. Two roughing the passer calls, possibly breaking his wrist. Not exactly a easy game for Rodgers.
The scaphoid bone of the wrist, at the base of the thumb, is notorious for not showing fracture on plain XR. If he is tender in that area, he needs MRI to confirm the presence or absence of a fracture. Not a good bone to fracture, it’s anatomy does not have good arterial supply, so healing may be delayed, and if occult fracture is not identified there is a significant chance of complication, including death of all or part of that bone, leading to severe arthritis and potentially permanent disability. That bone is a big deal.
I hope it’s not his contract signing hand. There’s sure to be another foolish team sucked into signing him. 🙄
As a bears fan I hate this , I want to see him lose in Chicago
He must have high insurance value
Aaron needs to take a seat. The last few weeks hes been terrible. Im good with Mason or even Will Howard.
Why report when you have no news… I JUST WANT CLICKS
This is why your other show was shut down due to DUMB Content. They Had a Big Lead in the AFC North after 6 games where the Ravens played maybe the toughest schedule in the NFL for the first 6 weeks. And the Steelers played one of the Weakest. Now its visa versa. There is literally 11 games left to be played
Don't speak on personal misguided feelings
Speak on facts with context
Aaron Rodgers super power has always been his Elite IQ and Elite Quick Release and Elite Arm Talent which has been on Display as he has thrown 19 Tds and 7 ints with a 100.00 QB Passer Rating
Mason is an above average QB who Lead the Steelers with 3 Victories two years ago and into the Playoffs with an inept Offensive Coordinator. Now, Under Arthur Smith's Offense, I think he is very well suited to hold down the fort until AROD returns.
AROD has been playing with that wrist injury for 3 weeks this why he has been inaccurate and he has been playing through that injury AROD needed this break to rest and take a step back an Analyze the offense so he can refocus for the crucial run down the stretch !!!!!!!
Efficient?Rodgers? It was awful. Noticeable improvement when Mason came in. Sims is a Wad!
I think it take 3 weeks to heal a serious wound, Rudolph is close to Rodgers. They should sit him to the Ravens game, because they go 0-2 vs 2-0 against the Ravens is night and day to playoffs. They have to go 1-1 to make the playoffs, you can't be Mayfield with his left side injury. If the offense sucks, it is close, you put him in late because he is the backup.
Mason is better.
The Steelers did not dominate that game; they won impressively courtesy of two unreal splash plays. And while splash plays are great when you get them, you can't rely on them. We've seen impressive wins by the Steelers in games where they've had timely splash plays, and we've seen them lose pathetically in games where there were no splash plays to be found. This team simply isn't good enough to be a contender UNLESS they get lucky and the splash plays are there.
