-12 +/- is by far the worst on the team and it’s not even close. Kuch has the second worst +/- and he’s only at a -4.
I know everyone says plus minus is a meaningless stat but when it’s this high of a number this early on in the season it’s glaring. This is becoming more than a slump and it seems like he has really aged poorly ever since the end of last season.
Point is my favorite player on the squad and has been since 2017, it’s really hard to see him struggling. I just can’t put a finger on why he’s playing so poorly besides age or maybe a nagging injury that hasn’t been disclosed.
This team is really starting to show cracks in the core players and it’s not good. The last thing we need is a slow decline over the next 4-5 years without any draft capital to show for it.

Slow start for the boys
There’s been so much wear and tear from multiple playoff runs to dealing with the cats
Bro’s been so bad he’s got Kucherov looking damn near average. Only at a point per game
He’s saving himself for later in the season? I think he’s got the yips. It’ll wear off soon. He’s too good for it not to. It’s not like he’s not putting in the effort; he’s just missing the net. I’m not worried yet.
The thing is, usually age regression comes from slower feet and hands; maybe less strength or stamina. He’s not showing any of that. I looked at one point in the season and he was still in the top 5 for speed.
Whatever is going on is not clearly wear and tear. He’s making bad choices, his shot is off…to sum it up: he’s zigging where he should zag.
I almost wonder if there’s some drama behind the scenes. Either that or he’s got a baseball-pitcher-level case of the yips. If he really doesn’t know what it is, and is really trying to play like he did the last few years, I’d get an MRI.
What does the +- mean?
Is Kuch off to a slow start HIMSELF, or is he being dragged down by Point?
Looking at the stat line I think he changed his name to Brayden Minus
Monstars took all his talent
Teams are keying in on him they all know he’s going to be in the slot in front of the net. That’s why the PP isn’t doing anything. We try to enter the zone the same way set up the same way and pass the puck around the same way. I don’t know if Point , Headman, and some of the others train enough in the off season.
His PDO is by far the worst it’s ever been. Like a full point lower. PDO is this weird approximation of luck. He should revert to mean sooner or later. He’ll be fine.
He’s def in his own head right now. Hopefully he breaks out of it.
Anyone know the last 18 game stretch this bad in his career?
As a team offensively we are TOO PREDICTABLE. This really shows up on the PP.
BORK, Gonzo, Point all really subpar. Kuch 16 points 1 point per game well off the pace of 1.5 which is his standard.
27th on the PP really
It’s the O that has let them down so far not the D
My theory is, we’re trying new things system wise, he’s having a hard time finding space. I think management will key in on top line guys more as time goes on. I think more attention is being given to the lower lines and their playing thus why they’ve been more successful as of late. Or call me crazy. Things just look different and we’re really trying to trap the zone more this season and key in on our entries and what depth is doing. So far.
Slow start to the year mixed in with bad luck and maybe poor decisions will result on what Point is going thru right now.
Concerning? No. Frustrating? Yes.
The team in general has had a sub par start to the year compared to what where use to seeing. Only Point and Bjorkstrand get the big red circles as the stats lines are easy to read. But that’s another discussion in regards to team issues.
As for Point, hes still got the Yip and can zoom down the ice no problem, he’ll get back to normal sooner rather then later and he may just end up having a Meh year. But if this happens again next year then the topic becomes a concerning issue. As for now im not concerned at all.
I’m not worried, long season
He’s one of my favorite players so it’s hard to say this. I hear some people say they think it’s age and wear and tear but I’m not so sure. The guy still moves up the ice fast and makes great cuts but he’s been horrible defensively. I think the lack of offensive production is also in his head and he’s missed some great opportunities to score. The PP being garbage also doesn’t help because he got a ton of goals there. I think it’s mental but I’m guessing just like everyone else.
He’s shooting at 8%. His CAREER low was 14.8 (first and second year in the league) and his career average is 18.5 percent.
Things will even out. He will on a heater at some point.
Point has been on the decline for a little while now. He really seemed like a top 3-5 center in the NHL in the cup runs but hasn’t looked the same
