This is genuinely INFURIATING…
This is genuinely infuriating to watch. After the Spurs got out to a nice lead in the first half, WBY started firing from deep. Castle was playing well. The referees and the Spurs themselves screwed them out of a win as the Golden State Warriors came back to just decimate the Spurs in a game that was infuriating to watch at the end of this. And there is a few culprits, some refereeing. Dear Fox is not in the good graces of the fans right now and so much more. And look, we’ll start with the box word Keenan. I know a lot of fans want to talk about De’Aran Fox. I know a lot of fans want to talk about the refereeing. I do want to start this video on a really positive note though because look, despite the negativity, despite a lot of the hatred and and and you know, anyway, just negative vibes around Let’s bring them up just for a second. Uh not not that Sohen, that might come up later, but this is the first time in Spurs history that two players had triple doubles in the same game. WBY and Castle. That’s a crazy stat by the way. And ESPN did not have Wemby’s 10th assist there, but the NBA does. He officially finished with 315 and 10 with eight turnovers. Um really, really, really good game even though this was a bad game from him. And Stefan Castle joins WBY, David Robinson, Alvin Robertson, and Johnny Moore is the only Spurs sophomores with the triple double. So Keenan, despite a lot of the stuff that we’re going to get into in a minute, I did want to highlight some of the good stuff that is coming from this ever growing and very young San Antonio Spurs roster. 100%. I’ll start with WBY because I I have even more praise for Castle than even WBY. Uh Webby of course phenomenal does everything that he’s supposed to do on the court because it’s Victor Webbyama. The 10 assists but the eight turnovers a lot of the time when he is controlling the ball up top. He can get a little loose with it. It’s also really difficult to handle the ball when you are seven feet from the ground. It’s difficult to do that. That’s why guards obviously are much shorter. But overall, I thought WBY played pretty well tonight. I thought there were some things that he could have done a little better, but I think overall played pretty well. I really like the way Castle played. He played under control. 10 assist. Again, only two turnovers, four straight games in double digit assist. And the turnovers continue to stay low and continue to keep getting lower. So, shout out to Stefan Castle for getting a triple double and putting himself on a list with some really good Spurs. and he just continues to do things in year two that you’re like, “Oh, we talked about Fox in the offseason. We talked about what Harper in the offseason. We talked about Wem and his ascension. We talked about a lot of guys. Castle is a forgotten guy for a lot of especially in the mainstream media. A lot of guys forgot about Castle and he’s showing like no that rookie of the year was legitimate and I’m really a guy in this league.” Though, this like evolution into being a great playmaker is kind of insane to me. Like so quickly how it happened. We’ve talked about this now. I feel like every day after each of the last few Spurs games, but you’re so right like like but on the other hand of that coin, you know, with the two assists or the 10 assists with just two turnovers for Stefon Castle getting that triple double, which is incredible for him is a De’Aran Fox game. We have 13 five and five with six turnovers. And that on its own looks okay, pretty bad turnover-wise, but my goodness, some of the vitriol I’ve seen towards De’Arren Fox is crazy. And I’m just here to say, I hope it’s none none of you guys, but maybe it is. And we’d love to hear from you guys down below. But my gosh, there’s a lot of negativity going around based on De’Arren Fox tonight. And I’m going to be the first to say this was a poor game from De’aran Fox, especially in the second half. He looked out of control, launched a lot of very bad passes. He had a couple of nice chances at the rim, but his jumper wasn’t falling. Like, if he just had his legs under him a bit more, he could easily have shot seven for 14 tonight, making a couple of those gimme jumpers, and we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation. But the turnovers from him for a guy that we were anticipating to be a big-time playmaker for this team, it’s just it’s really not a good sign. And him and WBY didn’t really seem to have that chemistry. And some are wondering, is it a cardio issue? This dude is just like fourth game back from injury. He missed a ton of last year, too. How are you feeling about Fox’s performance? And I’d love to hear what the fans have to say down below, too. Because I am going to be honest, there were some points in that second half where I really wasn’t happy with his play. No, they this was his first truly bad game of the year. Like I think he played he played good in other games. He played really well against the Pelicans, but overall like this was his this is not a great game. And the chemistry between him and Wii is not there and that’s understandable. They haven’t had much time together. You have to remember I believe it was February 8th was his first game in a Spurs uniform. They played a couple games together and Wemmy didn’t come back after the All-Star break. So they haven’t played together. It’s not like they play like overseas together or do anything like that. Like they don’t play time together. Castle and WBY have so many more games under their belt even just this year, but again last year playing together. So they’re going to have a better rapport. The Fox Webby rapport will come along and I do think that we need to be patient with it. We’re eight and three. We have to remember that we are still eight and three. We’re going we’re a top three team right now in the Western Conference and we have a chance to avenge this loss on Friday. though Fox did not play well and there was definitely points where you looked you’re like golly I’m not loving the way he’s playing. I don’t think that we need to kill the man because he had one bad game against a good team a good Warriors team that can make a lot of things difficult and they do have a lot of guards that can put pressure on you and make things difficult for you. Yeah, like Gary Payton the second was going I I don’t even know if I can call him a guard but he because he was guarding everyone tonight but like he would be doing these fullcourt presses and making it tough but like this tweet here from Bali I agree. Now, this was partway through the fourth when we saw, but this just can’t happen on Friday. Like, you can’t have Wemby have eight turnovers and Fox have six. 14 between them. That is the difference in the game here. Though, there was some officiating questions we’ll get into in a minute. This cannot happen from your top players. We need more of this Wimby. Like, though, again, I am going to just take a second and say, why on earth are we not giving Wimpby the ball near the basket? I feel like I’m I’m like bounding my head against a brick wall. Like, I played basketball my whole life, right? And I’m watching this team and I’m like, what? It can’t be that hard to get him the ball down there. I understand it’s not as easy as we say it is, right? Like it’s obviously not just like, well, if it was an automatic bucket every possession, they would just do it. Yeah, obviously they would. So, like, I’m not saying I’m smarter than the Spurs. I am not. Mitch Johnson much smarter than me. We’ve been incredible player. Kina, I still don’t understand how it feels like all of the Spurs offensive sets revolve around either in the very high post or out around the three-point line. He he crashes the net sometimes, but usually on just these slipped screens where there’s sometimes a lob, but they play the lob. Like I don’t know. Am I going crazy before we dive into this refereeing stuff? Because I feel like he could have got more foul calls as well, but it’s just nuts to me. No, I I completely agree. And over the big thing with WBY that we were talking about early on in the season was he’s not taking threes. He is not taking threes. He took seven tonight. He took nine against the Bulls. And yes, he is nine of 16 from three. So it’s not like he has been shooting the ball bad. He’s been shooting really well. Shot three of seven tonight, was six to nine the other night. But with Webby, a lot of the time they are trying to like screen for him like he’s Durant and get him on matchups up up top where he gets mismatches, but the mismatches he’s always going to get is going to be a smaller defender on him and then he’s not utilizing his size in the right position. What I would do personally in a little basketball conversation, again, Papovic, Mitch Johnson, they’ve forgot more basketball than I know. This is just me in my civilian brain thinking about basketball right now. I would just love if you want to get WebMes on screens, just set screens from the dunker spot from one post to the other post. So, you have to get rotations on maybe get a back screen from Stefan Castle who’s going to be guarded by either by Steph Curry, GP2, whomever. And then now you get WMY on the block with GP2 on his back at seven feet out and all he has to do is turn and shoot. It just seems like we sometimes run such complicated sets to get WBY into positions where he doesn’t need to be in where he’s 23 24 feet away from the basket with GP2 on him instead of being 8 to 12 feet away with GP2 on him to try to get Draymond off of him because Draymond’s obviously a Hall of Fame level defender. Yeah. Like what drives me nuts too though is that the Warriors don’t really have a rim protector and like we still weren’t like Webby was trying to drive on Draymond which is good which worked a couple times and then Draymond flopped like a fish was a foul getting doubled in the head. I’m not going to say it wasn’t but anyway like all these kind of crazy things and anyway we’ll see how they counteract this next game cuz WBY still had a good on Draymond. Like that’s the thing you I love the way he was attacking Nicole Vousvich. Use big and he’s strong and he but he can’t slide with WBY. That’s the thing about it. You are so much taller than Draymond Green. If you watch the Nuggets play the Warriors ever, Joic abuses Draymond in the post because he can’t do anything with him because Draymond is 67 listed, but he is really 6’5. Like he’s 6’5ish. So, I just don’t I just don’t understand sometimes the sets that we run for him. But we can we can talk. Well, we’ll move on. I Every time you My brain is rotted when you said Draymond. It genuinely does. I just like I get so confused. No, when you said his height, I just my my brain got rotted. Sorry. No, no, I know. I don’t We’re going to move on. Listen, um the the final thing we got to talk about, look, the Spurs shot themselves in the foot. Like, I’m not going to lie, the refs did not cost us this game, but I did have some interesting evidence here. Kurt Goldsberry is pointing out Steph Curry. Now, this was Steph ended up shooting more than this, right? It was 16 free throws. This was just at one point. Curry had more free throws than the Spurs entire team. And the Spurs had 42 points in the paint with only 12 free throws. The Warriors 18 points in the paint, 28 free throws. Now again, I think that actually did go up as the game went on. Or maybe maybe it didn’t, but like still the Warriors had way more free throws. Way more free throws despite the Spurs being in the paint way more. There were countless layups or possessions around the rim where Spurs were just getting hit on the elbow left and right. We were finishing through the contact and the refs were not calling it. And again, not the difference in the game, but the fact that the Warriors were getting that veteran’s whistle. The refs, every time Warriors put up a shot, they miss. Oh, wait, wait. That’s got to be a foul. Happened, I swear, four or five straight possessions. Just another thing, the young team is not going to get the veterans whistle like that. I wish Fox got it a little bit. I think he was getting bumped a bit. But anyway, Castle still getting some free throws himself. Seven free throws tonight. But like again, Keenan, like this is not going to help if your entire bench can’t get a single free throw and the Warriors are getting that many. Look, it’s not an excuse because I don’t think it cost us the game, but just one more thing to be infuriated at in this ah this game that just drove me mad. It it drove me mad, too. And I hope that the Spurs have this kind of fire in their belly cuz they go and play in a more important game on Friday that to the Emirates Cup. So I that matters to me at least. So I hope they have some more fire in their belly. But I mean Scott Foster thought Chris Paul was on the court again like for the Spurs. He doesn’t play on the Spurs anymore. like we don’t need to get that whistle unfortunately. But yeah, what uh Steph Curry ended with 16 free throws. Hasn’t shot that many free throws since 2021. And the Spurs ended with 16 free throws. Like just overall 32 of 36 for the Warriors when we have 30 more points in the paint than the Warriors did in that game. And I understand that they’re calling threes different now a little bit, but it wasn’t all on three-point shots. So Steph getting downhill and the veteran Steph did a good job of drawing of doing his best to draw contact, but if you’re going to have that whistle on that end, you need to extend the same whistle on the other end. We easily should have shot around 24 to 28 free throws easy. And this would even be like roughly a conversation. But again, I do want to say this the same way you said it though. The refs were a little bit of just the n like kind of just a thorn in the side. That was not the reason we lost this game. We lost this game because we turned the ball over 20 times. We did not utilize Wemby in the proper ways where you and I both think there. And I just think that we the Warriors thoroughly outplayed us in the second half, especially in that third quarter. Crazy how not using Wimby the proper way still leads to 3115 and 10 on 50% shooting. So good. Like he is that good to wear 315 and 10 and us feeling like man we just didn’t use him properly. But but it’s not it’s not even that. It’s just that like you like I I know watching the game that like he could like if Kade Cunningham could shoot 45 shots in a game, Webby can shoot 30 shot. Like I I just I just know especially against a team that doesn’t have that many rim protectors. That felt like an easy 31. A bunch of them were on jumpers. Like anyway, that that’s that’s my my thing with this should this was 315 and 10. This should have been 44 15 and four with like two turnovers. Like genuinely he should have had in the 40s tonight because there is nobody old Al Horford, Quinton Post, Draymond Green should not be able to check Wemby because they just don’t have the difference or Gary Payton the second like are you kid like all he had to do every time he got to the paint and touched the ball within the paint like that was a bucket. He just seemed like he just didn’t want to get there. Well, I I’ll I’ll say I think he did want to, you know, want to get tired. Maybe not once. Just Well, yeah. Like I mean, when we know how how badly he wants to win, but like I just feel like there’s other ways to keep doing it. And look, get that KG mentality, that dog mentality. We got time to come back Friday night. Leave your thoughts on this infuriating game down below. That’ll do it for this episode. But hey, hit the subscribe button if you made it this far. I’m pissed off. So is Keenan. this and we’ll catch you on the next

Step gets the Patrick Mahomes treatment of the NBA.
I think we just used this game to simply scout for the cup game
Fox has to much hype and gets paid way to much to be missing free throws and mid range shots.. and bad passes.. it's doesn't matter if they haven't played together.. he's an all-star caliber player getting paid 229 million.. and it's been 2 bad games no excuse!! I would pack him together in a trade package for giannis.. if fox can't figure it out .. we can't beat LA or Warriors.. OKC will beat us down
The refs sucked and it was definitely obvious the refs wanted GSW to win, the lack of foul calls against them was obvious, they fouled the he’ll out of the Spurs and got no calls. Draymond Green was running his mouth again as usual and should’ve been ejected and did not. The refs must be getting paid off because that’s exactly what it looked like to me. They should be investigated by the NBA
We lost because of poor coaching disposition. Tha untimely substitution when the team is blending.
I was at this game & the refs completely screwed over the Spurs!
Scott Foster strikes again, 36 free throws for Golden State to 16 for the Spurs?!!!
Draymond should have been ejected twice over, at least 3 no call techs for obsessive arguing over obvious fouls & that lazy ass flop that wasn’t called!!!
Another fixed game! This gambling is out of control
FOX just got back. Chill peeps😂
The Spurs fought on their own, but they are better than the Warriors, despite their youth and Curry. Fox is not physically ready. At high intensity, he's not there yet. Castle is already a top-level player, as he was last season, and he's improving. Fox needs to average 25 points, like Victor, and Castle and Harper need to average 20 points to ensure 90 points per night, with the others averaging around 15 points because they are less consistent. The Spurs are starting to play well this year. They just need a third consistent strong player per night, either Harper or Fox.
Had a bad feeling when I saw Scott Foster among the list of officials. Warriors cried so much after that Thunder game where they got blown out and Curry got his first ever flagrant foul. Had a feeling something is gonna be up in this game and lo and behold. That FT discrepancy is ridiculous. In this game, SC had the same amount of FTs as the entire Spurs team. Also, every team seems like they can play aggressively against Wemby but the minute Wemby tries to do the same, it’s a foul called on him. Been a trend in every game so far. Anyways, Spurs also committed a lot of self-inflicted wounds in this game, such as the TOs and the fouls (whether refs righed it or not). The coaching both on offense and defense felt subpar, especially after the first half. The rotations are bad. When Castle got into foul trouble, they should have at least let Sochan play. The team needed perimeter defense and somehow, the best or second best perimeter defender only got 6 minutes of PT. Fox sold so bad also. Fans said he played like he didn’t want to lose that shoe deal he had under UA with SC. 😂 I didn’t like that he was forcing shots instead of passing the ball, especially when his shots weren’t falling. He was more productive late in the 4Q when he was dishing dimes to his teammates. Again, TOs late in the 4th sealed the loss. Luke was a non-factor in this game. Jeremy who only played 6 minutes got 3 rebs, meanwhile Luke who played 20 mins got 0. Also, Jeremy should have gotten at least some of Julian’s PT ngl. Both Julian and KJ are bad defenders. I would have loved if Mitch tried to play at least Sochan and Carter for some time there. Oh well, hope the Spurs win the next game especially since it’s a Cup game, too.
Steph and wemby look great. Luke as well. I think we just need to keep an eye on everyone and possibly make a move at the deadline. We need a real respectable shooter. And our perimeter d needs to be a poa from here on out and funnel everyone towards wemby. Mitch needs to do everything he can do to make that happen, if not his tenured cannot be long
Pretty sure that Wemby didn’t care for that triple dub since it came with a loss. Castle seems to like it tho so good for him. But yeah, hard to feel happy for them especially after this kind of game.
Wemby in that post-game interview said there were lots of miscommunications on defense. He said they need to trust the process and trust each other and follow the gameplan.
Why is Mitch not devising plays that can help Wemby get to the post more? If the opponents clog the paint, why are they not helping him get freed? The problem is there’s not much off-ball movement around Wemby. Every time he gets doubled, everyone around him sort of ball watches. Also, why are they not running Wemby-Fox PNRs? I feel like Mitch and Sean should watch the Thunder vs Warriors game the other day. Their big men alone crushed the Warriors.
I think fox just had a bad game nothing else he looked lowkey scared out there lmaooo wasn’t ready for the energy the crowd was giving
Why can’t Sochan get some run ?????
We always seem to blow leads. All the open 3s our opponents get is fucking egregious. Against a team like GS, you simply CANNOT DO THAT. Come playoff time if our 3 point defense isn't cleaned up, we will not make it beyond the first round.
How are the spurs top 5 on D ?
It's hard to watch when the refs cheating for the other team , fck them refs
Deaaron Fox doesn’t come to play every night
I Feel like Fox is trying to hard to fix in, he needs to just be himself and ball out like we know hes capable of.
Go watch a rockets game with Hakeem how good they are at getting the ball to post
No you not crazy
The minute a saw Scott Foster was a ref, i said to myself the rig is on and we arent winning this game. NBA needs western conference teams that are in contention to lose to warriors to help ensure they make the playoffs. I dont think they are deep enough on their own to ensure that themselves
Fox was playing selfless idk what this dud talking about he wasn’t trying to force the game it just wasn’t he’s bight
Frustrating man
Warriors are the last team to get preferential treatment from refs. They’ve been hating on Curry for years. First time he got that many freethrows in months lol
I would put money that last night was a fluke for Fox and that he won't have a repeat showing like that from here on out. he's still shaking off the rust
Why is Castle bring down the ball instead of Fox? The rotations are garbage. I blame the loss on the coaches. And what is up with Sochan only getting 6 minutes? Why is our second best defender on the bench!?
Trade fox and vassel
Spurs getting revenge Friday it’s all good😈💯
"I played ball my whole life….". Sorry bro, you are way off on many of your assessments. 😂
Spurs lose by 5 with the Warriors having 7 more three's and 17 more free throw's…I like our chances on Friday.
This and the lakers game we could've won if the refs made good calls and clear fouls may i state those free throws couldve won this game and that lakers game
Blaming refs is always a bad look.
Chemistry issues, with new coaching staff and integrating new players. Kornet cant guard perimeter players, which is a majorly of the Golden State team, the game is about matchups. Spurs will adjust
Calling other players a bitch? You wouldn't dare if he were there with you.
Draymond is 6'5.75" in bare feet. He has a great wingspan though.
You say all these fouls should have been called, show us the video.
This is a very unprofessional fancast type show.
Nothing can be done about the refs, sadly. My concern was the 2 back to back bad turnovers right as Wemby was heating up in the 4th. Took all our momentum away. They looked like they had a lapse in effort and then tried to make up for it but you don't have that luxury when you're behind.
Am I the only one who really watching scouting reports for Castle. Even in his college, he already flashing good playmaking skills knowing that he played as 2 guard. Entering the draft he mentioned to one of his interview that he wanted to play as point guard in NBA. As he matures to his role the turnover versus assist ration will continue to improve and he can learn to control the phase of game.
What really defeated us this game is the 3 points. Spurs is one of the league's worst 3 point defender. Yes our interior defense is leagues best but we need to improve our defense beyond the arc.
Huh ? 😂 they lose because they lose not because of the ref lol did you watch the game?
Start sochan. We need his D and his shot has gotten better. Sochan only played 6 minutes and had as many threes as Fox, castle, waters, and KJ COMBINED! Yes he went 1/1. And he outrebounded kornet 3-0 and kornet is 7' and played 29 min
You guys are coping HARD for a team that's been playing bottom feeders to start the season. 🤣😭 Keep crying
