Cooper could efficiently score 20 per night w/ good playmaking and help the team run a functioning offensive system, if he was consistently involved in the offense by the team and coaching staff.

  1. Huh, you know I think we used to have a guy who was REALLY good at making even role and bench players look great…imagine what that guy would do for Coop. Though that may just be a fairy tale or some myth from days long gone how could we, of all teams, ever luck into a player like that. That guy over at the lakers is pretty damn good at doing that I heard though

  2. Maybe the worst part is Kidd definitely thinks this is some sort of big brained masterclass of coaching and hes just smarter than everyone else.

Like yeah, let’s have our #1 overall draft pick, who already looks like the best player on the active roster, go long stretches not involved in the offense and only attempting 10 shots. That will surely develop his game!

  3. I think we have seen enough of Kidd to know he doesn’t have much of an offense besides letting whoever the primary playmaker is at the time dribble the ball and everyone else stand behind the 3 point line. Also doesn’t help that our guys have tunnel vision once they drive to the rim.

  4. The kid needed a break. Double OT two games ago, OT the next game, and a back to back this game.

  5. Kidd is not a good coach.

People overestimate his role in Giannis development, and his offense here was simply give the ball to Luka.

  6. Eh, I really think we need to slow our roll.

Coop is doing great, as a rookie, even if you ignore he is 18. There is no reason to push him to average 20. Lebron is still the only 18 year old to average 20. It’s not an trivial feat and that there’s an easy path to 20, just by feeding him more is a massive assumption.

What he should be learning is good habits – playing within the offense, taking what the defense gives him, making good decisions and knowing his limits. I think the path he’s on is already pretty solid.
