The Pittsburgh Pirates are “trying” and Jim doesn’t care. #letsgobucs

All right, Jeff Passen reported today that apparently the Pittsburgh Pirates were willing, quote, “will willing to spend more than double they have ever for a free agent on Josh Naylor.” More than double would imply that it was at least $78 million. $39 million is the most that they’ve given to a free agent in their history. Ultimately, Naylor signed with the Mariners, 5 years, 92 million. My thoughts on this? Who cares? Like are Okay, cool. Congratulations for trying. Is that what we’re supposed to do here? This team’s been trying to do stuff for multiple years now and they failed. We’re not I’m not going to get excited because you tried to do something and you failed. Now there’s reports saying that they’re quote in on Kyle Schwarber. Okay, whatever. Why don’t you go and sign Kyle Schwarber then? I said trying does nothing for me. We’re at the point now where you’ve been trying for a really long time. Stop trying and start doing. Like being in on guys isn’t going to excite me. What’s going to excite me is actually bringing in good players. So let’s do that.
