That was such a smart decision by Sennecke, if he had shot maybe it goes in but he knew they really needed the win. So he chose to play it safe and get a guaranteed goal instead.
He was way too far out and made a justifiable, but bad mistake…

He was also likely expecting (I think it was ) Guenther to continue skating and protect the side of the net where Zelly ended up. A general rule of thumb in 3v3 OT is that you never stop moving your feet, so why Guenther just stopped to smell the flowers, then make maybe the most half assed poke check I’ve ever seen, is far beyond me.
So yes, Vejmelka was way out of position, but if Guenther had covered his man, this wouldn’t have been an issue. Closing up the passing lane would have put Vejmelka in the perfect, yet extremely risky position to be square to Sennecke’s shot, and Sennecke likely doesn’t make an attempt to pass to Zelly if he’s not wide ass open.

Why didn’t he just stop the goal from scoring? Is he stupid?
