Edmonton Oilers Fall Flat in Buffalo + Louie DeBrusk | Oilersnation Everyday with Tyler & Liam

Tyler and Liam are back on Oilersnation Everyday to break down an embarrassing effort from the Edmonton Oilers, who fell 5-1 to the lowly Buffalo Sabres on the road. It was game four of their seven-game road trip, and easily the least inspired performance we’ve seen from the Oilers so far. We’ll go through everything that went wrong, including another “Stuart Skinner Quality Start” delegation from Liam.

  1. I blame the defense first and foremost, especially Nurse & Boo for failing to play simple defense, instead there's routinely tire fires in our Dzone. Second I blame the forwards, especially the grunts (bottom 6) who haven't done their job and prevent goals, give a breather to the top 6. For the most part the top 6 have provided goals as they should and paid to do! What is the defensive coach doing? Players not listening? Coach Knob cant get onto the ice and play! All on the players first and foremost imo.

  2. its unfortunate because we all know what this team is capable of but, coming off 2 straight cup losses, have the olympics half way through this year, I genuinely think its an off year for the boys, I genuinely wouldn't be suprised if the oilers don't make the playoffs…

  5. Fans want solutions that don't exist. IF the goalies are so bad, well no one will want them, or they'll trade nothing good in exchange. There is no easy solution. Unless the players start wanting to win, the team will keep stumbling onto lucky victories.

  8. if we can play good defence, get more high danger shots, i think an average goaltender (skinner) will take us to the playoffs. but it has the last two years, idk if just tossing in different forwards hoping it’ll work is crap. get a 5-6 mill goalie. you do get what you pay for. i like skinner, but idk if he can help win us a cup
