It’s Tuesday. Your boys in the house. I’m not Florida. I’m not in the California sunshine. I’m in New York City. My girl Shay right there. You understand what I’m saying? But Tuesday is always a special special day. It’s the day of betrayal when Benedict Arnold show up and they supposed to be my boys. They supposed to be my boys. But Sergeant Friday aka Justic and Chris Kanty in the house. Always ready to start trouble and message your boy. This brother right here. terrorizing the American citizens at 6:00 a.m. So, you know, he just warmed up for this. All right. But what he doesn’t realize is that on Tuesday mornings, I get up extra early just to get ready for this, brother. Your boy’s in the house. First takes in the house. Holla. Let’s go. Buckle up. Started the night on the bench. Here’s Lamb wide open for the touchdown. Lock and roll. This is just too easy for Dallas. They have certainly heated up. End zone. Touchdown Cowboys. That’s tipped and picked deep to the middle. Caught by Pickinson. Holy cow. This has looked more like the unit that we had seen through much of the early part of the season. They’ve just totally controlled this ball game. Hello. Happy Tuesday. Yes. Welcome to First Take. You already saw the fellas here. Stephen A, Jeff Saturday, Chris Ky, I am Shay Cornet, and how about them Cowboys last? You How about Yeah. Yeah. How about them? How about them? Hey, let’s forget the record of the team they played for a minute. How about that? If you say anything I mean I mean when it’s time to talk, I’ll talk. Okay. When it’s time to talk, I’ll talk, you know. Well, that time is now. Let’s go to last night. Dallas went to Vegas. They took care of business. dominating the Raiders from start to finish. Dak Prescott threw for four touchdowns as the Cowboys beat the Raiders 33-6. But what stood out most was the way the defense played, right? Sacking Gino Smith four times, only allowing 27 yards rushing. And all this just comes days after their teammate Marshon Neland passed away in the locker room after the game. Coach Shottenheimer brought it full circle. Before we do all the celebration stuff, So proud of you guys, man. Hey, man. Tough couple weeks. You guys made a proud, man. Unbelievable. We’re a brotherhood. Uh, and as Marawn, you know, his he lived by one love. And, you know, that’s why I just told the guys before the game, like, let’s play for one love. Let’s play this one team. Let’s go out there and control the things that we can and play like Marawn did. And, um, that was just with our effort, our intensity, flying to the ball. And I think in all three phases we did that and it was such a complimentary win and something for us to uh build off of. So they’re going to build off of it. Dallas is now determined. The Cowboys currently have the sixth hardest remaining schedule in the league. That’s according to ESPN analytics. They’re only favored in three of their remaining seven games. And their next three games are tough. Eagles, Chiefs, Lions not favored in any of those games according to our ESPN analytics. But let’s focus in on what we watched last night on the football field. Were you impressed by what you saw from the Dallas Cowboys last night? No, I wasn’t. Let me tell yall something right now. Let me tell you something. Listen, listen. Listen. I’m just sitting there. I I had to wake up. I just want to thank all my colleagues at ESPN this morning for making me laugh. I mean, I woke up with a smile on my face listening to all of y’all. It was unbelievable to watch. You would have thought the Dallas Cowboys actually went up against Indie or went up against Seattle on the Rams or somebody. The second most highpowered offense in the National Football League. I mean, I’m sorry. This defense rather that was like one of the worst. Okay. Giving up over 30 points a game. Went up against the second worst offense in the National Football League, averaging 15 points a game. You had Gino Smith out there getting sacked. Quinnon Williams was balling. I got you. I know you could play. We knew it wasn’t your fault that the Jets stunked up the joint, but five quarterback pressures, five hits, one and a half sacks. I mean, it was very, very touching. I have to say to watch everybody talk about Did you say I said, you know, greedy greedy made me so proud. I want to know Mike Greenberg made me so proud this morning. I said, you know something? Let me tell you something. He’s going to kill me for saying this. One of my boys, my partner, my business, my man Kevin Frasier works for Entertainment Tonight, right? Kevin Frasier. I never forget years ago when he was interviewing Anna Nicole Smith, God rest her soul. And he walked up to her, you know, he was asking, he was interviewing her and you should have seen the look on his face. He’s like, he cared so much. I’m like, what? Yes. Are you really kidding me? What is this about? Right. That’s what I thought about when I was thinking about Mike Greenberg this morning. I watched him sit up there and he was making such a big deal of the Cowboys and I looked at Greedy and I said, “Is this get up or is this entertainment tonight? What is this? They’re playing the Raiders. Do we not understand how bad the Las Vegas Raiders are? They truly you do you I’mma say it to you like this. The Las Vegas Raiders are The Raiders are exactly where they belong. What do they say about Vegas? What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. That’s exactly where the hell it should be. We shouldn’t know anything about football out of Vegas. The way that they’ve looked this year, it’s been horrible. You got the oldest coach in the league. You got him looking old and we know that man could coach and we know that Pete Carol knows what the hell he’s doing. Look at how you got him looking. Gino Smith has been bad in the past, but he’s had good moments looking this bad. You look at the I Max Crosby, you’ve had sympathy cards, people throwing out there say, could you get him out of Vegas? Could you do something for the brother? We actually had a discussion as to whether or not he should be subjected to this level of ineptitude. Maybe he should sit out the rest of the season because of how bad they are. and Greedy was sitting up there on get up this morning and I went like this. This is why I love this man so much. I admire him so much. The perfect the perfect host. Not to take anything away from you cuz you’re great. Thought the Cowboys played somebody. He He had you thinking that the Cowboys went out there and beat the Eagles like this. I’m like, “No, the Eagles are this Sunday.” Yeah. Not not last night. What is Oh, who are you fooling? But greedy had America fool. You would have thought the Cowboys went out there and beat some Super Bowl contenders or something. It was the Raiders. The Raiders. Will y’all stop it? Come on. This is a new This is This is something new from you. I ain’t never seen this. I’m going to tear down the Dallas Cowboys by tearing down the opponent that I ain’t never seen before. This is a new I never seen this. This is a This is a new strategy. This is a new game. I love I love it. Here’s what I’ll say, right? I think some people are jumping out of the window with the Dallas Cowboys. They’re not going to the playoffs this year. They’re not. But the win for the Dallas Cowboys this year is to lay the foundation, lay the groundwork for future successes. I think the second half of this season can be what 2022 was in the second half for the Philadelphia Eagles. And if you squint really closely in terms of the football philosophy and roster construction, how this Dallas Cowboys team is now built is very similar to how the Eagles are built and how they want to play. They’re built front to back, inside out, both lines of scrimmage. You’re talking about a lot of first and second round draft picks in the trenches in those particular units. Two dynamic receivers, a Pro Bowl tight end and a top 10 quarterback. I mean it it there’s a lot of similarities to it and last and last night how they won that game they actually for the first time this season turn defense into offense the sudden changes at the beginning of the game being able to hold them the field goal being able to hold them the field goal Williams Kenny Clark get the sacks that’s impressive and then oh by the way they were able to have more ball disruption because the second and third level defenders ain’t running up on play action fakes to have to stop the run cuz you Got two ombres in there at defensive tackle that are absolutely animals. That’s how Kenneth Murray got the tip pass that ended up being a pick for Maris Bell setting up a short field touchdown for that Dallas Cowboys offense. And then in the fourth quarter, defense special teams the Raiders minus two yardd line. Then they end up getting a safety. I’m just saying I understand how the Dallas Cowboys want to win football games now. Yeah, earlier in the season it was lost on me, but now based on the roster that they have, they can build towards something that can be competitive with the Eagles in future years. I mean, listen, I mean, I think you and Granny were on the same coffee this morning. Y’all both y’all both excited. I’m going to say this. There’s a little truth. There’s a little truth in both conversations. I I do I do think the Quinnon Williams will be a massive addition in the future for the Cowboys. So do I. My my issue with the Cowboys from last night’s perspective was the Raiders did everything they could do to help them. They don’t run the football. They run the ball 12 times, 10 time, whatever. It’s 12 times. It’s terrible. It’s terrible. They throw it with Gino Smith 40 some. So, you play into So, like you said, they’re not getting pulled in and and the second line defenders because there’s no threat, man. They can’t run the ball even when they’re trying to run the ball. The Raiders don’t run the ball well. So, I think there’s a little bit of the Raiders help their defense look better than they really were. And I think from the offensive side, we’ve always said this about Dak, about Pickins. Can they keep Will Pickkins continue to be this version of Pickkins as opposed to what we end up seeing in in in Pittsburgh last year? Will he continue this this same? Because he baldled last night like like he baldled, Sidi baldled, Ferguson, you know, all all of that. And Javon Williams is a is a is a baller. So, there’s a lot to be excited about if you’re in Dallas. But I I would just say curb the enthusiasm a bit on how good their defense play. I I need to see them do that against an offense that can put that can do both run and pass and put you in a position where you have to defend. But go ahead, chef. Okay, listen. Um the Cowboys look better last night. We can all agree on that, but us hosts got to stick together. Greeny, are you here? Come defend yourself. Fantastic. You You’re very good. You You are very good. You Oh my lord. You perfection. Perfection this morning. Will you all just say with me, “How about them cowboy? I am not here for this cowboy slander. I am not here for this blasphemy after a dominant performance last night against NFL team. I got the I got the I raise it up. I raise it up for you, buddy. Hesitating with excitement over the performance of CD Lamb last night of George Pick last night. Javvante Williams. This is unbelievable. The Eagles think they’re going to beat this team 13-10 Jeff Saturday. I don’t think so. The Cowboys are going to put up points on Sunday. They’re going to beat the Eagles. They’re going to go into Thanksgiving with a chance. And that’s all they need. Greeny. Yes. When I say, you know, I said we we have some great hosts. I think we have a great host here. New host in First Take. Yeah, there’s no one better than you. Yes, you are. You are the greatest host. I mean, I mean, you had America. We thought the Cowboys beat the Eagles. I mean, I couldn’t believe it. Last night, Gino Smith was their leading rusher. Yes, he 14 yards. He was their leading rusher with 14 yards. He threw an interception. He now has more interceptions than touchdown passes. They they they they average 15. They’re the second worst offense in all of football. Sin City doesn’t want to be recognized by them. Sin City, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas are literally saying they ain’t with us. They ain’t with us. They need They’re not our team. And you were on national television. Yes. Talking to America at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time to see the Cowboys. I’m like, Cowboys are 40 and one against losing teams. Yeah, they I’m sorry. 4 and0. They’re 04 and one against winning teams. So if you stink, they beat you. If you’re good, they lose to you. And you had America saying, “Look at these Cowboys. I couldn’t believe it. I mean, it was there. There is no one no one better than you. I just want to say that. There is no one better than you.” Here’s you Cowboys did not have when they played all those winning teams. They didn’t have Quinn and Williams. and they didn’t have half the players they had on defense last night. I needed a flip card to figure out who is it that is now on this defense. Between the trades and the guys that came back from injury, this defense, they don’t have to be the 85 Bears. They just have to not be the worst defense in the league to be able to make a run. They’ve got the Eagles, then the Chiefs, then the Lions. How many of those games do they need to win to make you believe? To make you believe in your buddy Jerry? At least two. Two. At least two. And I expect them to lose at least two of those games. I got to give it to Greenie. He actually had me convinced they could beat the Eagles. Forget what happened last night. He was already telling me that Dak’s record at home against a divisional divisional opponents. I’m like, “Oh, maybe they can win.” Last time Dak lost a home game in the division was 2017. We like high ratings here. Okay, you you you want the other shows to succeed, but damn it, we want this show to succeed. I would encourage everybody in Dallas to watch Get Up. Watch. Find today. Get up. Go watch. Get up. Cuz let me tell you something. You will never have a day like today. Greedy. Listen, this team three, what did they come into the game with? Three five and one, right? They came into the game last night. Greedy had you thinking they were leading NFC East. He had you thinking they want to play. I couldn’t believe it. He and Jerry He and Jerry on the same word. Jerry called it a ballet and oper. Let me tell you something. You are in Arlington, Texas. You in Frisco, you in you you you in Big D. Wherever you are in the surrounding parts, go find Get Up today. You understand? Hold on to it because this brother right here, Greeny, had you thinking that this is the moment right here. I’ve never I couldn’t believe it. I’m sitting there like, who I literally had to go back to my DVR like who they play? Who they play last night? I know. I was watching the game. I saw the game. Are they talking about the Raiders? The Raiders. They are horrible and greedy had you thinking the Raiders were the Eagles or the Colts or the Patriots or somebody. You are very good. Well, here’s what I said. You’re very good. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. They have a long way to go, but they took that step last night. They started to look a little bit better. They have they looked that defense looked a lot better. Obviously, I know that’s a terrible offense they’re playing, but I’ll tell you what, the Eagles are just begging for someone to beat them. The Eagles are just hanging around. They’re winning these games the way they’re winning them. They’re waiting for someone to explode against their defense. Force them to try and do something offensively they seem unwilling or unable to do. Maybe we’ll find out which one of them it is. I believe the Cowboys are going to score points on Sunday against the Eagles. And if they do, I can’t wait to see what AJ Brown and Devont Smith and Jaylen Herz and all those guys have for them. I think it makes sense. I think it makes sense. I don’t know. I He’s convinced me too. Very convincing. He’s very convincing. He’s very convincing. You all know Jerry’s my buddy. My Libra buddy right there. I got to call Jerry Jones into He need to have you down. Oh my Oh my lord. I’m w I mean I I am more than available. I’ll go down there anytime. America. They were playing the Raiders. Yes. The Raiders. Raiders. And then not the Raiders. No. Not the great boom. Not the Raiders. No. The Raiders. Can I ask you one question? Raiders. Did do we all did we all see Denver play this weekend against Kansas City? Do we all think the Broncos look unbelievably good? Two weeks ago, the Broncos beat the Raiders 10 to7. 10 to seven. That game was that close. The Raiders have been playing. So, we’re just going to forget what they did to the Cowboys a couple of weeks ago. What the the How did the Cowboys look how the Broncos look against the Cowboys? No, I understand what you’re saying, but what I’m saying is the Raiders every week don’t look like that. The Raiders are a terrible football team, but the Raiders have played some people tough. They were playing at home last night in a Monday night game. I don’t know exactly what their home field advantage is there. I think people come from all over the place to go see their games. I think they have none. I think that’s about right. But the point I’m making is the Raiders have been competitive in some games. And last night they were non-competitive. The Cowboys completely dominated them from start to finish. I’m not saying it means everything, but I’m also saying it doesn’t mean nothing. And crazier things have happened. I feel like I’ve got Chris Kanty on my side. I’m with you, T. I think this second half of this season could resemble what we saw with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021 when they started out 3 and six and then they ended up finishing 9 and 8 and getting to the wild card. I’m not saying the Cowboys are going to make it to the playoffs, but that became the foundation for the Eagles as we know them today. I think based on the pieces that they’ve added to this defense and what their offense already is, the Dallas Cowboys can have that kind of success in the second half and that can make it real uncomfortable for some of them contenders that they got coming up in the next month of football. I am not ruling out the possibility that the Cowboys could beat the Eagles this Sunday. I watched them opening week. They gave him a tough game 24-20. I get it. And no Lane Johnson this week. And no Lane Johnson this week, which is a big big deal. Okay. Okay. I’m just saying last night it was the Raiders. And we’re walking around acting like we’re just ignoring that. We’re just blowing over that. Okay. We It’s the Raiders, right? They’re horrible offensively. horrible to the point where every time you watch their offense play, you keep saying, “What’s Tom Brady thinking?” Oh, what’s Tom Brady thinking? Oh, what you think about the quarterback? What do you think about the offense coordinator? What’s he think about the play caller? What do you think about Pete Carol? You find yourself asking these questions about a retired player that’s in the booth on Sunday afternoon because of what you’re seeing on the football field by a franchise he’s now the minority owner of because of its level of alarming ineptitude. and Greedy went on national television and had us completely ignoring that. We wouldn’t even think about the Raiders. All we could think about was the Cowboys because of you. Yes, you are special. Well, yes, you are special. Are you either all agree on Jeff Saturday not on your side here? Are you maybe a little more persuaded? Oh, no. They are better on defense, but you you I I think he he looks over the fact the Eagles are 40 and two in one score game. They don’t. He’s like, “Oh, they’re going to score a bunch of points.” Green Bay thought they were going to score a bunch of points. Detroit thought they’re going to score a bunch of points. Neither scored a bunch of points to get that Eagles defense. The Cowboys, not only are their defense got to get better, their offense has to go play in big games. To Stephen A’s point, they are over against a winning team. Yeah. Over. That’s that’s hard to just wipe under or or act like it hasn’t existed. I know they’re different. We’ll see what it really I can make a legitimate argument that the attention that Mike Greenberg is going to receive this week is unlike anything because I’m going to make it my personal mission for the world to focus on you. I want you back here on First Take Monday. I will be here. And they play the Eagle Sunday. I want you back on him Monday because I want to see I mean you deserve to be seen if the is if the Cowboys win, you deserve all the credit in the world. But let me tell you something right now. For you to be talking about them this morning like they beat somebody. The Raiders are a nobody right now. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be like that, but it’s just the truth. It’s just the truth. They’re bad. They’re very bad. They’re very bad offensively. Very, very bad. And to walk and to talk about the Cowboys like they played against somebody and I’m like, you you barely mentioned the Raiders and got away with it and got away with it and got away with it because nobody thought nobody thought about you know the Cowboys did do this. I’m like are y’all going to bring up the fact that they played the Raiders? Yeah, you don’t. Some of us did, but we get overshadowed a lot. We get overshadowed. The Raiders were one of the worst teams in the NFL last year, and they drafted a running back in the top 10 of the draft. They really don’t deserve a lot of conversation. Hey, what are we supposed to say? No, you’re right about that. I’m just saying you had us again. You got We got to think about the Cowboys and the playoff possible playoff birth. Now they four, five and one. We got to think about them as a possible player because of because they can only lose y’all. They’ve got who they got? They got the Eagles. They got the They got the Eagles Lions and the Chiefs in 11 days. Greenies. Greenies got us all thinking, will they win those game? What if they do? Well, see days, too. They have been the short weeks. Short weeks. Stranger things have happened. That’s the only thing I can say is stranger things have happened. We’ve seen them happen all the time. Things that seem to make no sense. We saw an Eagles team that two years ago looked like it was the best team in the NFL that had was the defending NFC champion just fall completely apart. And I’ll tell you what else. This also dovetales to one of my other favorite things. People love to complain about ties in football. They act as though a tie is the worst thing that can possibly happen. A tie actually throws a nice little element into the mix of a playoff race. The tie the Cowboys have actually is going to give them a leg up. You play against Green Bay and you come out of that game with a tie, not a loss. That’s a win on some level. So, I think that tie, they don’t have to get to 10 and seven. They can get to 97 and one. And that’s better than all the other teams that only have nine wins. There is a path for the Cowboys. It begins Sunday. If they beat the Eagles, the Cowboys are making a run. Okay. There will be an extra seat. There will be there will be an extra seat here for you Monday. Right on birthday. I’ll take off. Plan on double duty. Plan on double duty. You’re going to be right here Monday. What the hell have I done here? I don’t know. I’m just going to be all excited. You did it. You did it. You did your job exceptionally well. So, Greeny puts a lot of pressure on the Cowboys as there’s like zero margin for error. I think they can mathematically lose like one more game and then they’re back. The whole city of Dallas, the whole surrounding areas. You heard what Greeny said this morning. You see Greeny this morning. got him. Watch cuz that’s how they are. We do got a chance. We can still win the Super Bowl. This is what they’re saying right now. Because of this man, Cuz of this man right here, he done changed everything. That’s right. He’s done he’s done it for Chicago a few times. So, I appreciate that.
