Welcome back to the 11th inning podcast with Cole Goen Zim, Dan Kulko, Ryan Zimmerman. Joined now by the Nationals newest manager, the eighth manager in Washington Nationals team history, Blake Butra. Blake, welcome. Congratulations and welcome to DC and Nationals Park. Thank you. Excited to be here. Appreciate it, guys. you know, be naive to say that I’m expected to be in this position by any means at this age. Like I I just just fortunate to be here when I am and ready to get to work. All right, Blake. There she is. She’s got her outfit on. And Sabrina just got hero. Yeah. Hello, Blair. Hi, baby. [Laughter] Get her arms in here. Do one more button. Welcome to Nationals Park. Kevin France and Mark Zuckermanman here as we get set for the Nationals announcing the new manager Blake Vera. I’d like to officially introduce you to the next manager of the Washington Nationals, Blake Butra. [Applause] I’m incredibly honored, humbled, excited to be the next manager of the Washington Nationals. Um it was clear um during this process that this organization, the city are really special. Um this was somewhere my family and I immediately felt like we could make home. At the end of the day, when you when you talk with players and you work with players, I think what’s most important to them is do you care about them as as a person first? And are you going to do everything you can to help them become the best version of themselves both on and off the field? [Applause] here with me to my left, the Nationals, president of the baseball operation, Paul Deon, and our newest manager, the A manager of the Washington. I think I I came to realize pretty quickly that uh Blake was one that we wanted to uh lock in on. He’s just uh you’ll see it today. He’s he’s really bright, really personable. He’s uh able to do a really really good job, I think, connecting with people of all different ages and backgrounds. Yeah. Just want to make the city proud, make the fans proud. Just appreciate all the support and hope to have uh you know, many years of success. How are you? I’m great. Hey, how you doing? Pleasure to meet you. This is Danny. Dan, nice to meet you. Congratulations, man. Welcome. Live at Nationals Park today, it’s Grant and Danny out and about and on the road just down Half Street from our studios in the Navyyard. You’re locked into the fan, your flagship home for Nationals baseball. And the reason we journeyed down the street today was because of a very exciting afternoon for the Nationals. They introduced their brand new skipper, Blake Futer, who was just on the Deis talking to the media. I think he just did an MLB network hit. You’re making the rounds and we’re very pleased to welcome him onto our show. What was that vision as as you’re going through this process where because a lot of fans are going are going this all sounds fun, this is cool, but what should we expect and what should we expected? Yeah, I think um you know just kind of talking through the you know the foundation he’s trying to build in terms of the people that he’s bringing in here. Uh we already have a pretty exciting young roster of course with with some young talent and you know getting the chance to talk to a lot of them it’s it’s pretty um you know it’s pretty cool to hear how how hungry they are. Appreciate you. Thank you very much for doing this. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks. Thanks. Do you want us cry over there? You know, we need some. Hey, Nats fans, thanks for following along today. It’s a great first day. Um, look forward to seeing you all out at the park this year and and getting to work and um, you know, building this thing the right
