This guy is a good TE

  1. If he continues to build off the last couple weeks then he’s on his way to being one for sure.

  2. Compared to what?

Is he an average level NFL starting TE? No, but he isnt that far behind them except in catch rate where he struggles.

Is Daniel Bellinger a better TE? Probably, but for some reason he got in the dog house and has never been able to get out.

  3. One week people love him, the next they call him a bum….don’t forget, he was the Penn State TE before Warren…I think he has that kind of potential to be a top 10, maybe even top 5 TE in the league….it’s just a matter of targeting him….Giants typically do not target the TE that much…at least Wilson rarely did. Dart and Winston know he’s a large target and large catch radius so he’s been targeted more….but, I think he’s a big time weapon for this team for the coming years.

  4. He’s got an issue with drops but he’s clearly one of the more talented TE’s they’ve had over the past few regimes. I’d have no issue keeping him around

  5. He has shown improvement from week to week and from last season to this season. He’s still average at best but has the potential top be really good.

  6. The talent is there and he blocks his ass off just has to work to have consistent hands. Once he figures that out he can be a top 5-10 TE in the NFL.

  7. He obviously has to work on consistency as a pass catcher. If he can do that he will be a plus player.

  8. He is a lower end TE1.

    Currently he ranks

    18th in yards

    14th in receptions

    10th in targets

    5th in TD’s

He’s a solid blocker as well. Unlike some guys who are essentially WR’s.

Him as our TE1 is not an area we need to target for improvement with some of the other roster holes

  9. It’s going to be much harder fir teams to defend him when we have a healthy set of WR back in the field.

  10. Super gifted TE. Big, strong, fast, and runs pretty good routes. Needs to be given more opportunities and needs to work on his hands. He has immense potential though.

  11. He is awesome at everything besides catching the ball. He does have a great knack for getting open

  12. He’s good enough until they get someone better. He’s too lumbering and doesn’t have the best hands.

  13. He seems pretty solid to me. Though I have been buried in my phone for half the games lately

  14. I think he’s progressing. We started to see this out of him around this time last year and then his injury ended his rookie year. Seems like he’s settling in more. Hope to see him continue proving he can be consistent as a pass catcher because he’s a great blocker

  15. If he can improve catching better, he’s 100% a TE1. A 2nd year TE with Solid Blocking and Good Route Running with good size. He’s carrying some of the offense load now; imagine our offense when everyone is back.

  16. Inconsistent is what I would call him. Dude has had so many bad drops this season. I will say he did well last week tho.

  17. He has the potential to be great. You can’t teach the measurables he has. He just needs to catch.

  18. He’s a better blocker than a receiver. He’s fantastic in the run game but needs to get more consistent with his hands. If he had better hands he’d be the best tight end in the league right now lol.

  19. When he can catch the ball yes! I know everyone has already said this so I don’t want to belabor the point. But yes, he’s a great athlete, has great size, he’s a good blocker, and I think he has heart too so I’d love to see him figure out how to catch the ball consistently.

People say tight ends are typically slow to develop in the NFL so I hope Theo continues to improve

  20. If he could just learn to catch the damn ball he would be one of the best in the league. But he couldn’t catch a cold and unfortunately it has cost us points before. Same with Slayton.

  21. If catching the ball wasn’t part of the job description he could be one of the best in the NFL

    Unfortunately, it is

  22. He’s a lot better than what we have had. Seems like he’s been getting better as the season goes on aside from the drops.

  23. Good, not great. Theres a lot of potential there, so I’m fine sticking with him as TE1 for another year to see of he can reach that full potential. However, if theres a chance to land a great TE through FA or a guy we like in the draft, I wouldn’t pass on it entirely

  24. I don’t think his drops are as bad as Evan Engrams, and I think his impact is greater on the team as well

I was out on him 2 weeks ago, only because I really thought he was gonna take a leap this year and be a safety blanket especially with his size and speed . The drops are devastating but I’m back on the hype train 😂. Hopes he finishes strong and next season after he’s able to fully workout in the summer without restrictions he takes that Jump .
