Xavier Legette talks capitalizing off of big plays | Carolina Panthers

all week about the downfield passing game and you that catch kind of opened the floodgates for the the whole passing game. Did did it feel like that way to you? Oh man, a couple of us had some big plays down the field. Man, it’s not only about the plays I had. A couple of us had some good play down the field. Xavier, talk about that group and how you guys have leaned on each other as you have had this outside criticism about the vertical passing game and and whatnot. I see you guys celebrate after every single play. Let’s talk about the camaraderie that wide receiver. Oh man, I’ll say we all know that we can that we can make them kind of plays downfield. Uh I guess we just waiting for it. Well, we was waiting for it to happen and uh we just hoping it continue to happen and to do it against the number one passing defense in the league coming into Sunday. Does that make it extra special for you guys? Oh, for surely, for surely. I mean, well, I ain’t even know that though, but it for sure make it extra special though. Was there a benefit? Canal has talked about this to moving moving T-Mac around in the formation a little more than you have done in the past. I say everything really been the same. Uh we just executed it at a high at a high stand up Sunday. You left the game a little early. How are you feeling? Uh I’m still banged up, but I mean uh my plan is to play Monday. So we’ll see how the week go. How did that happen? Oh, man. Tell you the truth, I think it was on the play where I got the uh where he knocked the ball at, but I ain’t really sure, man. I think that’s when it happened. It’s one of those things, too, where it’s kind of like it’s it’s week 12. You haven’t had a buy yet. Like everybody’s just No, no, no, no. Uh I just say I just got pinged up and I That’s just what it is. It was your hip, right? Yes, sir. Got an extra day to rest, but you get to be in prime time under the lights. Just your thoughts on, you know, having that money football game. Obviously, I know it’s a year too, but still a big opportunity for you guys to play on the national stage. Um, I don’t know what it feel like to play on a Monday. So, uh, whatever time the guy ain’t. So, man, I I’m just trying to see what that’s about. But back. Is it crazy that that you’ve been here two years and this will be your first prime time game? I mean, I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s crazy. Uh, that’s how them folk made excuses. Are you excited for it? For surely. Xavier, what has the energy been like? Y’all playing really important football uh in late November. Just like what’s the energy been like? Oh man. Well, you know, we had a couple game where we feel short so we just was trying to capitalize off deep. You know, we did this Sunday. How are you feeling today? Just kind of up and down up and down. Even when you did come back from injury, you know, weren’t getting a ton of targets, but you were doing things that didn’t necessarily show up on the statue. Just talk about this personal journey for you in the second season. I mean, I know it’s not over, but so far, um, I’m just trying to do whatever the coaches need me to do. Um, and just trying to do that at a high high stand. What’s it like when Bryce is able to move the ball around to so many different receivers? How much fun is that for all of you guys? Oh, man. It make us excited. You see out there, everybody catching it, we we celebrate with each other. What was going through your head when when Bryce first went down? Uh, man, hopefully I was hoping he just was able to get up. the resilience that he showed him. What does that say about him? Obviously, everybody knew he always had that confidence, but just for him to bounce back and put together the performance he did, just what it say about him and you guys bing around him. He doubt. Yeah. So, were you surprised to look up and see him back in the game as soon as you guys went back on offense? Oh, no. I kind of felt like he was smooth like once he got up and he was he walked off the field. He didn’t really walk off with a limp, a bad lump. So, [Music]
