NHL Highlights | Utah Mammoth vs. San Jose Sharks – November 18, 2025

So all of the records that coaches and players may have had as coyotes did not carry over as members of the Utah Mammoth sounds confusing and it is. And we’re underway here. Sergeev lost the puck. Will Smith comes across center looks for Celbrini and he’s got him. Mlin trying to set up Bill Curishev. Kurichev back for Smith. Back for Celebriny. Scores. What a passing play and the Sharks are on the board instead choosing to have Wberg go against the top line. But this play starts all on the entry. A heck of a pass on the entry by Will Smith. Gets it back and then what does he do? He finds Max on the weak side on the entry. Tremendous pass. The patience right there. Hold on to that puck. Will Smith gets lost on the strong side and finds Matan Celibbrini who doesn’t take long to get the first goal of the game. This line was shut down in back-to- back games at Seattle in Calgary as he ranges to the far side. Gets to the puck. Now it’s kept in on this side. A shot by Barrett Hayen. Saved by Ascarov. And another chance for Hayden. And Ascarov comes up with a huge save there. Two feisty competitors in the top line center for each club. Here’s Kulie. Gets it through to the net. Handled by Asterov. Picked back up by Schmaltz. He’s got 10 goals. Nick Schmaltz to lead Utah as it’s played ahead. Grab. He’s got celebrating on a breakaway. He scores. Celebrating got two in the first. It’s two nothing Sharks. Well, you know what? This all started in the defensive zone. A tremendous play defensively by Graph stealing that puck. As you know, Utah likes to use that high ice by the blue line, but they turn that puck over in an instant. The puck is advanced forward by Graph up to Cellrini and a great shot right in that triangle between the heel of his Bull stick and his mada for D Simone. Here’s Carone. Luke Medullan turns. He lost Carone who gets to the net and Ascarov makes the save. St. Louis youth hockey environment. More and more NHL players coming out of there. You know that area well Jamal. Here’s Wenberg. Back now a chance for grab. Fought off by Vanichek who got his blocker up on that puck that was headed to the net. Wenberg again. Sharks quickly regroup and he’s got cracked. That’s for Wenberg. I don’t think he expected the pass kept in Dee to the net. Panichek in the wrap around and Bachek robs Wanberg. He just on Culie two years older than Celibbraney. He’s 21. from Pittsburgh drafted third overall by the franchise back in 2022. And back now for Keller. Little dish for Purka. Sergeev far side. Gunther with a big shot. It’s kicked out by Ascarov. Caroneian in with his stick. Loosens things up a little bit, but the Sharks get it back. Warl the shot. Nice job by Vanic to pick that up through traffic and make the blocker save. Stop shot sends it in. He’ll probably be facing his former team here on Saturday. And he almost put one in there against Vanichek in rightful place. Great celebration in Toronto with so many of Joe’s family members and friends who were there. There’s a shot off the post by JRE who came inches away from his first of the year. Oie Ma for Logan Culie. Good stick by McDool. Blocked that pass by Started with the father’s trip. Then it morphed into the mentors trip and now at least for some of the teams it’s a mom’s trip for Utah here tonight. We’re underway with the third period. Sharks trying to pick up win number five on home ice this season. Here’s Sergachev. Loads up, fires, and it’s off a stick and trickles just wide of the Sharks net. Nick Ley trying to swing it out of there, but it’s kept in by Tyler. Kyler Yamamoto and a shot off the glove of Ascarov almost 25 minutes a game this year. 2457 Sergeev coming into tonight. There’s a heaviness to his game as well. Not a huge guy, but he is strong on his stick and hard on pucks. Now Lawson Krauss and he’s got Purka in alone. Scores JJ Purka. And just like that, the Utah Mammoth are back in the game. It’s 2-1. loses his depth and is gets beat wide. Purka just looks like a nothing play. But managing your depth is so important. Madulan gets on the wrong side and JJ Purka beats him to the outside. Holds that puck onto his backand and waits till the last second all along knowing that he’s going to go low glove. He swings it ahead but knocked past Keller who’s then put down by Muk Magulan Culie and then the quick shot by Dimone. Caught by Ascarov. Utah has it. Kyler Yamamoto back for John Marino. Don’t work it far side. Gets it back. Takes a shot and scores. John Marino from long distance but the referee is waving it off. And now the officials huddle Asterov and then as you see the puck goes into the net. I would argue there was a push but the question to me would be would he still be in the blue paint if he wasn’t closing. So headsets on and off quickly. We’ve got a decision. Upon further review, the call the ice stands. We have no goal due to goender interference. You were right, Jamal Mayers. No goal. And now the Sharks go on the power play. He escapes from Kernese. And now Carone’s out of the box. Here’s a chance for Carone. Stops, wheels a backhand or the net. The rebound shot high by Stenland to Olaf. It goes the hard rim and then steered further on by Ekkan. Purka flying through the middle. Purka with the shot and he scores. Ascarov got a piece but JJ Purka ties it at two with 251 to go. and he just weaves his way through and is able to elude the stick check of Orlav and Oscar tries to fight that one off his Brocker side. It kind of goes through him. He gets it off so quickly it had some heat on it under the stick. Actually goes off the glove and somehow finds its way in the back of the net. 23-year-old JJ Purka from Germany. So, we’re not done yet. JJ Purka, two goals in the third. We’re tied at two. Back with overtime next. Time with Wenberg, Ecklund, and Ferraro. Stemland so good off the draw with Sergeev and Gunther for Utah. Now, Stemland after winning the draw goes to the bench. Back for Sergeev. Here’s Schmaltz. He’ll load up. Shoot. Saved by Ascarov Marino, but could not. And now it’s up back at center ice to Coulie. He’s got Clayton Keller. Keller in and it’s turned aside. Great defensive play by Will Smith. Heck on the far side. Back for Mlin. Mlin to Will Smith. Wenberg front of the net. The tip. Then another diving out after it. Vanichek. Puck still available and loose and picked up now by Cole who backhands it down. Cut off at center by Celbrini. The quick re-entry by Mlin. He’ll flick it over to Wenberg. Wenberg moving in against Cole. Back for Celibbrini. Celbrini for Smith. Mlin. Celibbrini. A shot saved by Vanek. Celbrini again on the wing. Ekan Smith now he’ll glide up to the top. Eklyn Celbrini switching up with Ekkan. He’ll curl at the top. Back over to Celibbrini. Ekan loads up, shoots and scores. We’re celebrating a game winner in a hattick. Enough’s enough. Great screen in front by Wamberg as Branch is looking the wrong way. Mlin shoots it over his right shoulder. absolutely rips this wrist shot and sends home everybody happy.

Macklin Celebrini scored all three goals for the San Jose Sharks for his third career hat trick, and Will Smith picked up two assists to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 3-2 win over the Utah Mammoth.

  1. This was an interesting one. Macklin Celebrini is just something else entirely. I'm not gonna apologize for saying he's a generational talent anymore. 4th teenager to put up 30 points through first 20 games of the season after Gretzky, Crosby and Lemiuex. Askarov had another good game although the 2nd goal will certainly be one he wants back. Month of November has been great for him. Some defenders had solid games tonight but Mukhamadullin didn't have his greatest night. I fear that Warsofsky will look at the power play today, at least in regulation and decide that they need to switch Klingberg back in for Orlov but I didn't think it was the problem in this one. Onto the next game

  2. Celebrini is why you tank. Imagine if the Sharks actually tried playing series hockey and didn't get him and will smith. Not to mention Michael Misa isn't even playing right now. They tanked and now have multiple generational prospects while other teams are struggling to get out of the basement.
