One of the better matchups on uh on Wednesday’s card in my opinion. So, you have two teams that, you know, really weren’t anything special last year that have, you know, definitely taken a step forward early on this year. The Sixers 8 and five on the year, 93-1 against the spread this season. One of the best ATS records in the NBA. They’ve alternated wins and losses in six straight though. They’re coming off a 110 108 win over the Clippers in their last game. Toronto 9 and5 on the year, 8-6 against the number. They’ve won four straight and eight of nine after a 110 108 win over the Charlotte Hornets. This is a bit of a weird travel spot for Toronto, though. They go out on the road for a five-game win streak or sorry, a fivegame road trip, pardon me. come home, play one game against Charlotte, and have to go back out on the road to take on Philly before going back home to take on the Wizards as part of the start of a home stand. Now, you know, for me, I think this is going to be a key spot for the Raptors here. You know, you play Washington and Brooklyn next when you go back home, followed by a game against Cleveland. So, this is a really big spot for the Toronto Raptor to pick up some some easier wins when they get back home. But I think all of their focus has to be on the Philadelphia 76ers here who, like I said, have gotten off to a great start to the year. It’s just going to be for the Sixers about managing health this season. And you’ve already seen the Philadelphia 76ers start to do that a little bit by, you know, giving Joel Embiid the uh the rest day. Not like he’s had enough of those over the last couple of years. You see, you know, VJ Edgecomb pop up on the report here and there, but Paul George has started to get his feet wet again, get back into the fold. Tyrese Maxi has become, you know, an absolute stud. Now, Paul George, one game, now he’s back out as he’s working on, you know, injury recovery. Joel Embiid is doubtful for this game. So, we’ll have to see if those guys come back. Now, Jared McCain is listed as available for the Philadelphia 76ers. So, at least they have that. The problem is that while I do like Tyrese Maxi and what he’s done for the Sixers and how he can at times lift the Sixers on his own or at least with you know guy like Edgecomb or you know someone by his side. I don’t like this matchup for the Sixers because call me a homer if you want. I I like I like my Toronto Raptors. The problem is that the Raptors I’ve said it before now have a core. You know they’ve got Brandon Ingram, Scotty Barnes, Emanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett. Is it the best group of four in the league? No. But is it good? A lot better than what the Raptors have had the last couple seasons. Scotty Barnes finally has some help. And you know, we saw Brandon Ingram what he could bring to the table. He’s not always going to get you a flashy 25 points, but he got you 27. He had a game- saving block in that game on Ryan Kulk Brener. You know, he had a fantastic dunk in that game as well as he put Kulk Brener on a poster. And now you’re getting the Raptors plus the points in a game where the Raptors, you know, have had success against the Sixers in the past. The Raptors have been a really profitable underdog against the spread in the past and I just think this is a game where the Toronto Raptors are really live to win this game. It’s not saying a whole lot considering the the line is only two and a half three points, but for me I still think that the Raptors right now, especially with all the injuries with the Philadelphia 76ers on that injury report, I think the Raptors are the better team here. So, I’m going to go with the Raptors here. I’m going to take the free bucket in this one. I think they pick up another road win here and that’s going to be my free pick.
