Boston Celtics win UGLY, but get above .500 with win over Nets

Sometimes you got to win ugly in the NBA and that’s what the Celtics did. Pulling away late but struggling to beat the Brooklyn Nets. I’m John Carales from the Locked On Celtics podcast. Celtics turned the ball over 20 times. They averaged 11 on the season. They gave up 21 points off of turnovers and this was a fight. It was tied at 90 about halfway through the fourth quarter and then the Celtics got a steal from Sam Hower that triggered uh a seven nothing run. The extended run became 1813 and the Celtics pulled away for a game that looked less competitive on this box score than it actually was in the game. Second half, Derek White was amazing defensively. Absolutely vintage alldefensive team level defense from Derek White. Pton Pritchard 22 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. He is on a bit of a roll himself. Jaylen Brown had 29. He had 17 in the third quarter, but he had eight turnovers. And he didn’t shoot particularly well. So, it wasn’t his best game. Even though he had 29 points, he got himself to the line a bunch. So that was very helpful. The Celtics get to eight and seven. They’re above 500 for the first time this season. So it’s ugly. Yeah. But Celtics will take it. They get the Brooklyn Nets again and they’re looking good. They’re coming around. So, we’ll see much more on the Locked On Celtics

The Celtics turned the ball over way too much, but Derrick White’s defense was incredible in the second half, Payton Pritchard is on a roll, and the Celtics moved above .500 for the first time this season. John Karalis has immediate reaction, and much more coming up later on the Locked On Celtics podcast.

  1. This should’ve been a game where JB gets some rest and sits the entire 4th or even 2nd half. But the team’s 20 TO’s (8 of which were his) stopped that from happening. Above .500 yay.

  2. Jaylen Brown proving who he is all along this yr … just a good player but NOTHING close to a max player … for years JB has been ultra SELFISH, n then complaining he isn't featured .. bla even going as far to canpaigning for finals MVP through the fact he kept asking to GUARD Luka n making sure the media knew he was doing this incredible "team sacrifice" yet he barely guarded Luka at all being 10 feet from Luka on the offensive half as Luka was bringing up the ball yet the moment the Mavs got into their offense he was lost in the first screen and many OTHER C's ACTUALLy guarded Luka… now this yr JB crying that he wants Tatum role and he's failing miserably again getting back to his high turnover rate… should have traded him when there was some demand for him yet BStevens either thought JB will actually mature or C's might get a Godfather offer … NEITHER.. overpaid slightly above avg SELFISH player
