The Dallas Mavericks playoff hopes are fading after each loss… Can Cooper Flagg dig them out?
The Dallas Mavericks are now 4-1. I keep tracking this because I want to everyone to realize how dire this situation is and how deep the Mavericks, this is your your thing, your stat. I’m owning this stat. I’m owning the stat. Since 2000, 124 teams have started 4 and 11 or worse. How many of them do you think have made the playoffs? Isaac Harris, I don’t know. 20. Eight. Eight out of 124. And only one team in the West has ever done this since 2000. And that was the Pelicans like three years ago. And they were they ended the season 36 and 46. And that was under Will that was under Willie Green. The Mavs are in a dire situation right now. They’re probably not going to dig themselves out of this already. Like that’s the spot that we’re in. I’ve seen a lot of people go, “Well, those teams didn’t have Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving ready to come back into the fold.” Well, I don’t know when Kyrie is coming back into the fold. got that report that you and I both talked about in different episodes from Mark Spears that he is ahead of schedule and that one that is a great report that he if he was the playoffs he could play right now. But I’m not trying to rush Kyrie Irving back. We I’ve been very clear on that. Like let’s not try and and rush him back in anyway. And you’re definitely not rushing him back to this team. Then with Anthony Davis, he’s out for another se another week or so and you don’t know what he’s going to look like when he when he comes back either. Then we’ve already seen Anthony Davis with this team for five games and it did not look very good at all. And so the maps are in the situation where oh should they tank? Should they shut him down? Should they not? They might not have to make a choice.

Why are we even considering anything other than a full tank job. No more playoff talk. We would be making the same mistake with Flagg that we did we Luka and that's try to be too good too early without adding another high draft pick
How many of them were getting 2 hall of famers back from injury? Kyrie needs to be back as soon as possible , don't risk the mans lifestyle however as soon as he can he should be back. AD wasn't with this team, this team has gotten better. The record doesn't show but they have been playing way better than early on. Especially flagg, that Minnesota game was a scheduled loss let's face it. However, you add ad to this team and the way they are playing now, they are a good team. You add Kyrie to all of that, they could win 65-70 percent of their games. If they are 20-30 after 50 games, let's say Kyrie comes back they can go 22-10 or even 20-12 the rest of the way to finish 42-40 or 40-42 and earn a play in spot. Your telling me with Kyrie AD healthy with a full season under his belt flagg the Mavs couldn't win 2 games and get in the playoffs. They probably won't beat OKC, however they will give them all they want or hell they may pull off one of the biggest upsets in NBA history. Call it crazy, but it's definitely a possibility. It's not impossible.
Its ironic that Lakers are 11-4 while the mavs are 4-11 lol.
