Will never forget his walk-off against the Sox in 2023. Pure magic.
He’s gonna wreck Korea
As a reminder, Liam Hendriks was DFA’d 3x (inc once by the Cubs) before his career really kicked off. Tim Wakefield was DFA’d after a really good rookie year & not so good sophomore start, & then took off with the Bosox. Max Muncy was DFA’d, sent to the minors, & completely released after hitting sub-.200 over parts of 2 years with the A’s & then took off with the Dodgers. Justin Turner was DFA’d by the O’s before the Mets picked him up…and then non-tendered before the Dodgers grabbed him.
JD Martinez & Jose Bautista both saw multiple DFA’s, & David Ortiz was released by the Twins *while under team control*, all early in their careers.
A DFA doesn’t have to mean the end of a career…Morel is still young, & has good qualities. He just needs to find the right spot to rebuild his confidence in his bat, & maybe stay off the field altogether. Or maybe become a pitcher (he does have one of the strongest throwing arms in the league). Lol
Please. Not a legend.
Legend?
I met Mo before the Rizzo retirement game. He was by the Cubs dugout before the game taking pics with fans. Sweet kid. I wish him the best.
Legend?
Sad
I still believe in him
He seems like one of those players who are only good with one team. The Cubs. I wouldn’t mind brining him bat for a bat off the bench if Ricketts is going on the cheap this year.

Cubs legend? Thats an exaggeration.
He was so fun for a bit
Bring him back and keep him away from 3rd base. He can replace Justin Turner’s infectious smile.
League leader in xVibes+
I was really hoping he would put it together more, his vibes were immaculate.
Minor league deal inbound? Would love to see him hit bombs in Mesa or Iowa
I remember when dudes in here were weeping when he got traded
He’s 26, not a good defender but he showed some pop at the plate and was crazy hot for a bit. I wouldn’t say he’s unfixable.
Might be time for him to learn Japanese.
Legend? 😂
Send him to Colorado
Future whitesox
The cat man
Bring him home Jed
He put up -1 war with Tampa and you could still argue we lost the trade because the two pitchers we also gave up look pretty solid.
I wish him the best. Good passion, fun to watch, fouled every third pitch off of his own body.
we’ll always have 2023.
