The MarinerMojo 2026 Seattle Mariners Offseason Plan!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year over here at Mariner Mojo. It is time for Joe and I’s offseason plan. We have both concocted our own offseason plans within the budget that we expect the Mariners to have. So, we basically kept it under $170 million for both of our offseason plans. And we are going to want you guys to tell us who has the better offseason plan, which lineup is better, and who you think came the closest. But Joe, I this is always a fun one. This is always fun. This is This is also This year specifically, we both have agreed that our plans are pretty straightforward compared to past years. Like last year, I traded Mitch Haniger. Yeah, you did. And and got Chris Bryant back and then traded him. Yeah, it was a whole thing. There’s nothing really like that going on uh this year for I don’t think either of us. But how do you feel about your plan? Bombs away. I I it it’s missing something specific and it just feels wrong to not have one included. I don’t have a three team trade in my offseason plan. I think for the first time since we started doing this. Feel good about my team. I had a goal in mind going into thinking about what I wanted to do and I think I exited the off season in this theoretical with that goal achieved more more or less. So, we’ll see whose lineup or team or overall roster ends up in the better position, you know, to you guys. But should we just get the the first pretty straightforward the obvious one? Like we’re both signing Josh Naylor. We’re both ressigning Josh Naylor. Yeah. I wanted to hear what your contract was for him. I did four years 72 million. So $18 million a year. That’s exactly what I did. That is exactly what I did. 18 million a year. A little bit over half the budget. Wrong. I put myself at 32 million is where I put the budget. So I think I’m on the lower end. like I’m at like 165 and I think you might be at 170 which is I think good to show that there’s there can be a little bit of disparity or discrepancy in terms of their spending. But bringing back Josh Naylor I mean Cal Raleigh even said it at the awards show I think a clip that was posted today from Swilly who is part of Johnboy Media talking about like you know who’s the the the favorite person in the clubhouse and he’s like Josh Naylor. It’s like we’re still pining over Josh Naylor. It’s not just the fans. It’s not just the organization, it’s the players. Bringing back Josh Naylor is priority number one. And he is like how you’ve framed it in offseason’s past as far as like when you look at offseason’s moves and players brought in, he can be a primary move. He can be your player A and then you need to then get players B, C, like however, however it looks, right? Like there’s a there’s primary, secondary, tertiary moves that you make during an offseason. Josh Naylor is a primary move for the Mariners going into 2026. Yeah, if he’s the best bat that you add during this off season, that’s probably fine because that’s just how good he was with the Mariners, how good he’s been throughout his career, and how very clearly important he is to this organization. And even Adam Jude said, I don’t really see a scenario where the Mariners do not bring back Josh Naylor, how they how they don’t move forward or how they move forward without him. And I think it’s just like a matter of time left. But Joe, I also have the Mariners resigning Jorge Palanco. Interesting. Okay. What’s your what’s your contract for Palanco? I have him signing a 2-year $24 million deal. Now 12 million a year. You might be able to add like an option on the end of that or what have you, you know, whatever. Who cares? But I think 12 million a year for Polo to be your primary DH and then play second base for you once in a while is fine. And ba on based on the year that he put together, he can probably make more than that. And if he can get more than that, good for him. I had the Mariners going into the offseason at 132 million. So, right now I’m at what, 162 million with these two moves. Um, do you have any more free agent signings or are you I have two free agent signings left. Perfect. All right. I have one after the second one I just should I go with I’ll go with my Jorge Palano light, I guess. Okay. Oh, god. Um, it’s not Willie Castro despite despite everything that I said on the recent live stream that you know the top 50 free agent predictions that we did with the chat. I said Willie Castro is a mariner. I went elsewhere. A guy that I think a lot of Colobby Patnau of the Lockdown Mariners podcast has talked about I think I think he has talked about wanting to trade for him in years past but unfortunately he played for a team that does not trade for the Mariners. Now a free agent known Barry Bonds against the Mariners. Luis Ranhifo will be a Seattle Mariner in 2026. I’m signing him to a two-year $12 million contract. CA Castro’s prediction from trade rumors is two years 14. So I just went a little bit less for Ren Heo. Two years 12. He can play second base, he can play third base. He played a little bit the outfield last year. He is just Willie Castro Light. And in his best years, he often had an OPS of over 900 against left-handed batters. and he is my left-handed platoon for Cole Young. Like he against left-handed pitching, he will be playing second base for me. He can also play third base against right-handers if Ben Williamson does not figure it out. But also that spot is kind of just like a bench role and someone that can kind of move around. And if we don’t have to face Luis Renifo, you know, say 20 at bats a year, give or take, I’m I’m okay with bringing him on as he’s, you know, one of your first guys off the bench. But I think he can play a significant role for the Mars. He had a down year in 2025 compared to his 2022 through 2024 stretch where each year he posted an OPS of over 850 against left-handers. Last year was not that case. His splits are you you don’t really want to play him against right-handed pitching. It’s it’s a split that you don’t really want to entertain, but he will survive at the plate against right-handed pitching if need be. And that’s where I you’re you’re taking a pretty significant dip in terms of production and I think expected production between Palano and Renifo. And I think that’s where you’re getting I’m getting him at half the cost as well. So yeah, I think that that’s a fine move. He almost is kind of like a Dylan Moore replacement in my opinion. You can move him around the infield a little bit. Um, and you know, he’s going to be kind of a platoon guy who may not see the most playing time, but is still going to be someone that can be a good role player for you. Um, my last free agent edition, and then I have three trades. My last free agent prediction is the Mariners sign Ailio Pagan to a 2-year, $16 million deal, $8 million a year. Um, and I think that Pagan I mean obviously he came up with the Mariners um and was traded blah blah blah. Pagan Pagan is a guy that I’ve always really really liked and he’s I was looking down the list of free agents. I’m like, “Oh, they should go sign Pete Fairbanks.” I’m like, “He’s going to want to close.” Yeah. You know what I mean? And I I was like, “Oh, Ryan, oh, he’s going to want to close.” Like, and these guys just aren’t going to get the opportunity to close. Ailio Pagon, in my opinion, is not a closer. He is a he is a setup guy, a leverage arm, and I would have him, you know, slotting in kind of around the Bazardo area of that bullpen. And I think that that the one of the biggest needs for the Mariners this offseason is to add to the bullpen. And I think Pagan would be a really good start to that. You you simply just signed the wrong Reds free agent reliever. You didn’t sign Brent Sudter for one year two million, right? One year’s $2 million for Brent Sudter. He’s a a hardh hit EV neutralizer, a merchant of that if you will, aka not a four pitch mix guy like Caleb Bergson, just a two pitch mix guys. Basketball sinker at this point for Sudter. His change up has since gone by the wayside because he left Colorado. It was really good in Colorado, but the the way the air played in Cincinnati didn’t necessarily help his change up out too much. But again, this is just this is my my desire to get Brent Sudter in a Mariners uniform and it’s only for 2 million. This could be a minor league deal if for all things considered with an invite to spring training and like you know he’ll make one and a half million if he makes the roster kind of a situation similar to maybe the Randy Donak signing that the Mars have already done. Um but I wanted to include him in my actual plan just because like I I am if he signs I’m getting a suitor jersey at this point. don’t care. Like it it’s all for the bit and it’s all for fun. One year is 2 million. They they declined his player option I think for two and or team option for two and a half. So you’re not going to he’s not going to get more than that in this market. And that puts me at $20 million total or sorry $26 million total spent on the off season with the free agents of Naylor Sudter and Renifo. He adds a lefty arm to the pen and I think the Mariners need another lefty in the in the bullpen to back up Gabe Spire. Although Gabe Spire is going to be used against righties and lefties, I really think that having guys in the pen that you just want to turn to towards lefties is not necessarily a bad thing. And for Sudter, if he doesn’t work out, oh well, you only wasted. It’s it’s $2 million that you wasted. I’m fine with it. And it’s someone that I’m really excited about being in Mariners uniform. So, I signed the correct Red’s reliever, Brent Sudter, not Amelio Pagan, which I think Pagan makes a lot of sense, though. You’ve got three trades that you need to get get out here. Yes, I am trading Luis Castillo. You have to. And you mentioned that the Mariners need to add a left-handed pitcher, and I agree with that. How about one they know really well from the playoffs and Brendan Little with the Toronto Blue Jays. You trade Luis Castillo to the Blue Jays for Brendan Little and Fernando Perez who’s a right-handed pitcher. They’re number 17 prospect. I really wanted to go Ricky Teedman here. That’s who I had originally. I’m like they would never do that. Um so Fernando Perez, he’s like kind of a lottery ticket. 21 years old. He um doesn’t throw he doesn’t have like electric stuff. He is profiled as like a back end of the rotation guy. He kind of reminds me of Marco Gonzalez basically who he is. He’s probably nothing. Okay. But just something to take a stab at. Really the the win here is you’re getting Brendan Little and you are trading away the 24 and 24 million that you’re owing to Luis Castillo which helps my budget go back down. So now I’ve only spent 14 million this off season. Um, maybe you can’t go as high as Brendan Little if they’re taking on the whole contract. I don’t know. I think the Blue Jays are willing to spend some money. And Luis Castillo, very good pitcher. And he is absolutely if Luis Castillo was a free agent this year, he’s making 27 to $30 million a year. So, that’s a bargain for them in my opinion. And I think that giving up Brennan Little with all of the arms they have back there, they’d be okay with that. Especially if they’re planning, I mean, it sounds like they’re looking at the highest leverage bullpen arms there are like Edwin Diaz for example, and they already have Jeff Hoffman, etc. I think they’d be okay giving up Brendan Little. So, it’s just to clear semantics, just Castillo going to Toronto, you’re getting back Brendan Little and that pitcher that Fernando Perez. Fernando Perez. I almost said Jose Perez. I’m like, that’s not right. That’s not the name that you just said. Do you So, question. Do you think the Mariners lose that trade? Yes. Like, it’s a it’s a losing trade in the sense of value for 2026 because what you’re getting is money freed up by trading cast. Obviously, this happens has to happen after his no trade clause lifts at the beginning of the year. So, this won’t happen until at least January 1st. But, I think Little’s a good arm to get. Where would you slot him in in the bullpen? Uh, he’d just be like a middle relief maybe. Like where did I slot him in in the bullpen? Hold on. Because you have him 2031. Like I think he could slot in ahead of Bazardo potentially. I have him right behind Bazardo in the pen. But yeah, either way because I have Pagan ahead of Bazardo. So yeah. Um, so right now I have Munoz, Brash, Spire, Pagon, Bazardo, Little. Um, but yeah, I I think that this is a scenario. It’s just basically a pure salary dump. I mean, don’t get me wrong, you’re getting back a player in Brennan Little who can definitely be of use to you in 2025 or 2026, but this is purely to get money off the books so that you can make other moves. And I think that with Kate Anderson coming up, you still have Emerson Hancock if you want to use him, Logan Evans, Dangelo Sa, Ryan Sloan, like you have arms to backfill that rotation if you need to. Thankfully, Joe, you’re not going to need to because Yeah. Who are you trading for? The Mariners are acquiring Sandy Alcantra from the Miami Marlins for Logan Evans, Ty Pete, and Charlie Beansson. Okay. Um, how much is Alcantara making? $17.3 million. Okay. So, that of that um 24 million I just cleared up, I just spent 17 of it. Alcantra bad year last year. We know how good Sandy Alcantra can be. Um, he was, you know, a a perennial Sai Young contender before he got injured. Had a rough couple of years. I think that the Marlins would be more than willing to move off of him and open up a little bit of payroll if they want to cuz it’s kind of a sunk cost to have Alcantra on your team right now if you’re the Marlins. And as the Mariners, if he’s your fifth starter and he puts up like a four erra, so be it. But if he can get back to what he was a few years ago, that is a hell of a deal for a potential Sai Young candidate in Sandy Alcantra. Now, you don’t know what version of him you’re going to get. His arm may be cooked for all I know, but I think that that’s a guy that makes a lot of sense and someone the Mariners would definitely like to go out there and say, “Hey, just throw this one pitch more and you’re going to be effective again.” Like they do with a lot of their guys. And I think that that’s a move. Now, I do feel like this could be a bit of an overpay by the Mariners because they’re taking on that entire contract. They’re giving up Logan Evans. They’re giving up Tai Pete, although Ty Pete was bad last year. And they’re giving up uh Charlie Beansson, who probably, you know, whatever, maybe a bullpen guy in the future. Yeah. But giving up Logan Evans, I mean, he can he has the opportunity to still be something for the Mariners. I just would rather have Sandy Alcantra in the number five spot instead of Logan Evans. since you since you traded Castillo. Yeah, I think what you were hoping for Sandy is that you don’t see the 722 ERA from the first half ever again and you see more of the 333 erra in the second half. He definitely kind of dialed it back in like on a full like calendar season. Bad year for Sandy, but the second half I think there’s still like a glimmer of hope as far as like where his arm could be at. It might not be as, you know, as you said, cooked as the numbers would show. Have again, he I mean, I’d probably slot him in at four. I’d put him ahead of Miller just given like the the career success. I he could be your number three. He has the ceiling of being your one is is what you’re doing is you’re trading for him kind of on a low. You’re buying him on a low, but you’re also taking the money away from the Marlins in that in that scenario. And that’s good cuz they’re going to sign Edwin Diaz because they they need to clear up some space. Yeah. Trading. So you’re starting pitching depth outside. So like say one of them gets hurt. Where are we where are we at with the depth? Because you traded Castillo, you traded Evans. Are you calling upon just like are you moving Hancock out of the pen or you have a Hancock back in a like rotation spot or should we wait? Should we wait on that? Because you have one more trade. I I do I do have one more trade. We don’t need to wait on it. Um, yeah, Hancock is the guy that I would probably slot in in that situation. Um, and then at what point is, you know, Dangelo Sanger and Kate Anderson, when are they going to be ready? It depends on when the injury is, of course, and the what if game makes it difficult, but like assuming that let’s say at the start of the year, like someone gets hurt, like George gets hurt in spring training like he did last year. Mhm. I think you just go to Hancock for the time being if you have to in that situation and then wait either for George to get healthy or for SA or Kate Anderson to be ready to go. Um and that’s a situation where we saw what Trey Savage did this year with the Blue Jays. Obviously, that’s kind of more of a more of a flash in the pan or out of nowhere sort of thing. Whereas Kate Anderson, we can’t guarantee he’s going to come up and beat Trey Savage after like five games in the minor leagues. But yeah, it’s a situation where I’m willing to take that risk. Um, if someone gets hurt, and let’s be honest, someone’s probably going to get hurt. That’s just the way baseball works. Could be Sandy. Um, it probably it could be Sandy and this is all a moot point. But yeah, I think it’s an interesting situation. Again, I Tai Pete. I’m Yeah, you’re lower the guy. I’m lower on him now. Like he just he can’t stop striking out. Like he I don’t know. I love Tai Pete. Great dude, great person, great personality. I just I don’t know if it’s in the cards for him in Seattle, especially with the way that the team is currently constructed. Yeah. I mean, back-to-back years striking out 162 times in a minor league season. Like, strikeout rates just through the roof. And a good athlete, good tools. It’s just maybe maybe a change of scenery in the minor leagues could help him cut down on the strikeout rate. It was. And then Belinson. Yeah. Like he’s a guy that I think is in the conversation for like a Cleveland Ruff Corn like Wraith, Michael Hobbs, like guys that are not on the 40man that probably could be added and be see bullpen innings in 2026. Should I give you my my trade? One and only trade. Yes, I would like to hear one and only trade. My one and only trade. The Mariners are acquiring two major leaguers in this trade and a minor leager. All right, we’ll start with what is being sent to the Cincinnati Reds. So, outfielder Luke, infielder Leo Rivos, catcher Josh Karen, number 16 in the Mariners system, right-handed pitcher Gregory Santos, and right-handed pitcher Ryan Hawk. He was in Everett. He’s going to be 25 this year. He’s going to be in double A. He’s in the fall league, right? I don’t know if he was in the fall league or not, but depth arm could be a a random kind of starter if he does figure it out in Cincinnati. And I think with the way that they’re heading, they might need a little bit of like a a restock as far as pitching is concerned if they’re in, you know, thinking about trading Hunter Green. So, I think Hawks, it’s nothing special, but I’m giving up, you know, major league guys in Rivos and Santos in order to acquire. This is not This is not an important player, but one that I thought was funny. First baseman Jack Moss. He has played in 142 games in the minor leagues and has not hit a home run. So, I want his first professional home run to be in a Mariners uniform or, you know, in the Mariners organization. Um, I just wanted first base depth and I don’t think that the Reds would mind parting with it. We’re also getting left-hander out of the bullpen, the second right reliever out of Cincinnati opposed to Amelia Pagan. We’re getting Sam Mole acquired by the Reds in the 2023 deadline was absolutely lights out for the Reds after being acquired from the Athletics post like a 645 RA plus. High strikeout rate lefty had a bad year last year. You’re trading for him like on a like on a low. The Reds are kind of retooling their pen and I think getting Gregory Santos back for them. It’s a major league army that they can throw in there right now. And the the the player that is the biggest aspect of this is you’re getting TJ Fredel to play right field for you every day or most every day. Okay. He is kind of low-end Steven Quan. I did not want to trade for Steven Quan because I didn’t see the fit necessarily for the Mariners. So, you’re getting a right fielder or he’s a center fielder mainly, but a right fielder that is going to play for you against right-handers every day. And he actually has not reverse splits, but he has a 770 OPS versus lefties in his career and a 754 OPS versus righties. And he has a career. And in 2025, he had a 364 on base. He is going to be your leadoff hitter for the Mariners in 2026. My goal going into the offseason plan was to find a bonafide leadoff hitter that I felt could be at the top of the order. Someone who doesn’t strike out a lot, someone who makes good contact. He’s not the I think current MLB standard. He’s not like Steven would have been better, but he would have been more expensive. Full stop. Like TJ Friedel is a guy that he consistently has put up like two war every single year that he’s healthy. His best year in 2023, we had a 117 OPS plus. He put up almost four wins. It was almost a 2020 season for him. The Reds are in a weird position where they need to stay competitive and getting he can play center field for you if need be. But I in my heart of hearts have them moving Ellie de la Cruz to center field next year. And that’s why I’m giving them Revos to play the infield for them. Someone that’s major league ready, was in the Reds organization before before coming to Seattle. And that only adds $6 million to your payroll. And that’s my $32 million spent. Sam Mole, high strikeout guy, like I said, adds another lefty. Both neutralize lefties like crazy. And so I added two lefties to the pen because Spire is going to be used no matter what in any scenario. Yeah, the Mariners definitely need to add at least one if not two, like you mentioned, left-handed pitchers to that bullpen because you’re right, Spy can’t do it all. He can’t be like the left neutralizer while also being a high leverage guy. It just doesn’t work like that. I think that adding Sam Mole on a low is a good shout, especially with his strikeout rate. They’re not going to, you know, they’re not sexy picks, but they’re guys that are going to get the job done, which is exactly what you need. You don’t need, and the Mariners bullpen has always been built on guys that get the job done. It’s never been built on, you know, the Mariano Riveras of the world. It’s been built on, hey, we got this guy, we cleaned him up, and now he is has a 125 uh erra plus this year. So, I think that makes a lot of sense. Uh TJ Fidel is an interesting one. Someone that didn’t even cross my mind. I am interested before I give you my final trade since there everyday outfield. What is happening with Victor or Domone? Are they just It’s kind of like a rotating door of like he like Fredel can be your starter against lefties. He doesn’t have to be like in my proposed lineup I have roace playing in right field and then Fredel on the bench like I don’t it it it’s similar to it’s kind of just elevating the position I think to Fredel and Dom is dhing a decent amount. Um, and I think him being able to focus on dhing could help stabilize his offensive approach. It’s very small sample size, but he has he had an OPS of like 1,500 while daging, but it was in like 22 play appearances last year. But if there if there’s one thing that I think that would help Dominic Kzone be able to hold on to whatever offensive success he found last year is to try and focus on one aspect of the game and not have to worry about playing defense. And that one thing that I want him to focus on is hitting. His defense, I don’t care. Like, he has a good arm. Yes, his it doesn’t look pretty in the outfield, but his defensive numbers actually aren’t terrible. He has a really strong arm, and his outs above average is usually neutral. If anything, it just doesn’t ever look pretty. But I would rather uh TJ Fredel out there patrolling the the right field spot. Yeah, I think that having the five outfielders, I also have five outfielders um on my roster. Um, obviously two of which on the bench. That’s how that works. But I also am adding a player. You got your Brent Sudter out of the way. Yeah. Yeah. I’m getting my Brendan Donovan out of the way. All right. Oh, you’re bringing him in. Bringing in Brendan Donovan for the like third year in a row. Um, and the Mariners are sending Cole Young Mhm. and Michael Morales to the uh to the Cardinals in this deal. Cole Young obviously being the big fish there. We’ve talked about it plenty of times that basically Brendan Donovan is what you hope Cole Young can be. Um it’s a bummer to lose Cole Young. It absolutely is. But Donovan would be your everyday second baseman with his noodle arm. And you can put him in the outfield if you absolutely have to. The positional versatility with Brennan Donovan, I think is something that I found pretty intriguing. I mean, you could try to put him at third base. I don’t know if he can throw the ball across the diamond, but you can try. And it’s a guy that I have as your leadoff hitter. He’s I have him at the top of the order every single day and Palano as your DH. And if you need I mean both Palano and Brennan Donovan have had some injury history. If you need to give one of them a DH day or whatever then the other one just slots in at second base. I did not feel comfortable because I’m already running Ben Williamson out at third base. I did not feel comfortable running him and Cole Young both out on a championship caliber roster. Sure. where you can have those two black holes if if if thing you know how co how Cole played um in the last like month or so that he played Williamson not being able to lift the ball. So I wanted to make sure that I solidified that second base spot in that situation. It adds $5.75 million to the payroll bringing the grand total to 169 nice million dollar spent on the offseason. So under that 170. So your lineup is Donovan, Cal, Julio, Naylor, Randy. Is it Dom batting six? Polo. Polo. Oh, Polo. Batting six, then Dom seven. Then Dom. Yep. Okay. And then Williamson and JP. And then Williams and JP. Okay. Mine is Fredel, Cal, Julio, Naylor, Randy, Dom, Williamson, Young, and JP. And I definitely understand that the rolling out be the hesitation of not wanting to roll out Williamson and Young in the same lineup back toback where you don’t know necessarily what you’re going to get can be scary. What is your bench? I have Harry Ford. Uhhuh. as a backup catcher. Victor Roblace. I have Ryan Bliss or Leo Rivos. Either one. I don’t know if Bliss is going to be healthy or not. Um and then I have Luke as an outfield baseman. Yeah, like the lefty power bat. That’s something that I found myself missing once I traded. My bench for against right-handers is Ford, Victor Roblace, and then Ryan Bliss, Miles Masterbony. It was Bliss, Revos, Masterbony. Then I traded Leo Reboss. Um, I originally had traded Jared Sunstrom to Cincinnati, but I decided that I’m playing in the mind where De La Cruz is going to be moved to the outfield similar to O’Neal Cruz was. And it’s something that they’ve that like the Reds have thought about doing. So, it’s not it’s not out of nowhere, don’t worry. It’s there is a little bit of there there there’s a baseline to it. Um, and then Renifo is my final bench spot against righties. And then versus lefties there’s a slight difference. Um I do have Roblace just leading off against right against left-handed pitching playing right field but again I would feel comfortable rolling freed out there as well. So, with what we saw out of Rob Blaze last year and I it’s unfair what I think I’m doing to his role, but I would rather cuz I feel more confident about the depth you have in the infield in the organization as far as quad A guys that could be ready or could come up and play a bit for you like Bliss, Master Bony, Samad Taylor compared to the outfield core that you have of like a Ryland Thomas or even like stretching that out then to the prospects of like Colts Emerson being able to play the infield for you halfway through the year or Lazaro Montes like I feel more confident in the infielder group than the outfielder group if that makes sense depthwise but outfield I mean the the lineup versus lefty doesn’t change a ton. Um I swap Randy and Naylor. I put Randy batting four, Naylor batting five. I have Luis Renifo batting sixth, playing second base since his career ops versus lefties is 750, kind of being a bridge in the middle, like from the middle of the line going to the bottom and then Williamson batting seventh, Harry Ford batting eighth, and then JP still batting nine. Okay, got Harry Ford in there. Interesting. I I have I have Harry Ford not like every day against lefties, but I imagine they don’t want Cal catching so heavily coming into coming out of this season. Uh, your rotation sounds like it stays the same. Nothing’s changed. Nothing’s changed for me. The only difference is Alcantra instead of Luis Castillo. So, Woo, Gilbert, Kirby, Miller, Alcantra on my side. And then the same thing, but instead of Alcantra, it’s Luis Castillo for Joe. And then my bullpen, I have Andre Spunos, obviously, uh, Matt Brash, Gabe Spy, Ailio Pagon, Edar Bazardo, Brendan Little, Carlos Vargas, and Emerson Hancock in as my eight bullpen guys there. So the bullpen I think is looking a lot better in that situation. I don’t know how to feel about Vargas or Hancock, but you got to have those middle relief kind of cleanup guys anyway. So whatever. The rest of them I think are all guys you can use of leverage. Yeah. Yeah. I have Munoz Brash Spire, Bizardo, Sam Mole, Emerson Hancock, Brent Sudter, and then Carlos Vargas. I did put like the depth pieces of guys that I could see either a making spot starts like Evans for me, Don Knack, Evans like obviously not on your team. So you have like you would have Hancock or Donak in this situation. Um and then you said SA as well. That’s one I have listed for the bullpen. You still have depth guys like Omina um like Tyler Cleveland, Jimmy Kingsbury, Jason Rufforn. I originally, full disclosure, was going to trade Jason Rufforn instead of Gregory Santos, but I found out we share a birthday. So, I h I can’t trade him. He He is He has to be a Mariner for life or else he’s going to turn into A-Rod as soon as we trade him. That’s just the way it works. That’s true. A-Rod and I share a birthday. If we trade Jason Rufforn, imagine A-Rod but the reliever. Okay, that’s what you’re going to get if Jason Rufforn is traded, right? It’s like the the documentary the Alex Rodriguez not A-Rod thing that just came out. It’s I don’t know Jay Ruff or Jason Rufforn. That’s the that’s the mindset I have myself in your bullpen. I like Pagan in there. O overall I think what you were able to accomplish moving money helped I think raise the ceiling of your team compared to mine in a dramatic way. your team has a higher floor I think maybe sudtor and mole you know what I mean like you know what you’re going to get out of them generally and they have the opportunity to be you know specifically like Sam Mole like you said was lights out uh just a few years ago so he has the opportunity to maybe return to that with the Mariners let us know whose team is better on the screen right now editing me shout out me go me I’m the goat but maybe I’m not the goat of making the offseason team because my my odds on favorite would be Colton winning this one. But thank you guys for watching. Hopefully some of this stuff happens because I think both offseasons would be good. Yeah, agreed. Go Mariners. Bye. [Applause] [Music]
Every year this is easily the most fun video to sit down and record and see who can navigate the world of baseball’s offseason. The Mariners have made the first step abundantly clear and gave us Josh Naylor early on in the offseason. But who made the better Mariners team beyond the Naylor addition, Colton or Joe?

I know Raley was hurt most of 25, that being said I won't be sad to see him move on hopefully.
Colton – I think I'd rather have Luis Castillo than Sandy Alcantara. I think I'd keep the rotation together.
Joe – I'm not really buying in on Luis Rengifo unless it is just a utility / bench bat. Also, TJ Friedle vs. Luke Raley…I might just prefer Raley. The Reds trade seemed like making a trade for the sake of making a trade.
Overall, I think I'll take Colton's team, but I do think you can get a guy like Ryan Helsley or Devin Williams on a 1 year prove it deal and they can go get their big payday next off-season.
Overall there were some interesting ideas I had never thought of though when I think about what I would do. Good show guys!

Gentlemen. I love your trade talk videos. Nailed down Josh… whos next? I know Dipoto is not done. Keep the meat. Trim the fat. Keep the window open. You two are the best. Colton, my boys and Erin will see you in AZ come March. Go M's
We aren't getting SKUBAL??
Best outro ever
Who sits when Cal is DH?
Sandy was sick toward the end of the season. Love the trade.
Raley is tight with Cal gotta keep big D happy
I think I’d rather trade Michael Arroyo, Michael Morales, and Charlie Bielensen for Donovan. I love the Rengifo idea but idk about that TJ Friedl trade brotha, imma want a bigger name at if I’m giving up that much depth and more in lines with a 2B than RF. Plus no more 1B depth if Raley’s gone. Kwan would make more sense or maybe Luis Arraez back at 2B imo
