The odd thing about this season is the Flames are really not that bad of a team. Teams like Nashville, St Louis, and Calgary look unusually bad this year because teams like San Jose, Anaheim, Seattle, and Utah have finally taken big steps forward. The basement of the league isn’t as bad so new teams find themselves in the basement.
Last year at this time there were 13 teams with records below 0.500 and this season there are only 5. I think a lot of why the Flames had such a good season last year was because they feasted on weak competition, and there really aren’t many teams in that group this year.

B. I’ll never get over how hyped I was to read how jjk would end and how disappointed I was with the actual ending. Thanks for the reminder.
