NHL Highlights | Edmonton Oilers vs. Washington Capitals – November 19, 2025

Washington is down. Not one but two centers. So Mcichael slides in opposite dry subtitle. No Nick down. No Pierre Luke Dwis. Were underway with Scotia Bank. Wednesday night hockey with David Tomasic drawing back in the lineup as well as Tai Emerson. The seventh Dan. McDavid. A little reverse pop on Tom Wilson sent out by Sort of the one time Oil King. The rebound punched home by Brous who came into this game with just one goal in his last 15. But that’s his sixth. And Washington takes an early one- nothing lead. This is a big one for the Washington Capitals. They’re a big team and they’re going to get to the front of the net. You watch this shot. It’s quick because you know if there’s forwards heading to the net, so it’s win a puck down low, get it back to the blue line. Carlson’s always been one of those defenseman that has a great eye for when to get the puck to the net. I think for Steuart Skinner it’s a little bit of a screenshot. So instead of handling this puck well and deflecting it hard and Echol able to knock it down for Walman driven up the left hand side and here come the Oilers. Dric settle staggers his way over the line but Coleman drivetime a save made by Thompson. Rebound at Coleman and a lunging Thompson Gulf getting worked over in the corner trying to follow it up is Dylan Stro. He has the puck up top for Roy. Now Chickan fires and scores. I’m not sure Skinner saw it. Two nothing Washington. [Music] Lots of traffic again. Ovetkin’s first through the line here. Piece of it again. You’re going to watch this for check from the Washington Capitals. Bollier elevated up in the top line. Some shuffling for Spencer Carberry as well with injuries to his club. And right there you can see the tip in the high spot. Ovkin is getting hot. That’s goals and three straight for him. Now watch this. Perfect redirection in front to flex this just a little bit out of Steuart Skinner’s reach. It was Chicken with the quick shot. That’s twice now we’ve seen it. Disa over the line. McDavid. A drive by Nurse. Redirected off the post. Are they calling it a goal? I think it went in. The goal light is now on and the Oilers are on the boards. Sorry, Jack. Two to one. And all on the entry by Leon Dryside. He navigates through a few Washington Capitals. Little drop pass to McDavid and then the one-time by Nurse. And Vasili Pod Coulson is right in front of Thompson. Great job to get himself to that spot. I’m not sure if he dips it in front or not, but he certainly presents the screen. So loading up early here. Jumping up. Big hit. Carlson flattened by Emerson in the second collision with Mcichael. But here’s Leonard to the net. Scores. 3-1 Washington. Ryan Leonard with his fourth. [Music] A couple pops inside the line. Here’s one of them. He steps up, keeps that one going. and then rips. Carlson tries to come into the zone. Boom. Not an easy guy to knock off his feet, but then this puck just bounces back to Leonard and he makes a nifty little move. He fakes, fakes, fakes out Kulak with the shot and just continues to skate. Spencer Carver said he’s really worked on the little details of trying to force it to the front of the net, but with these two teams, so many thought it might be low scoring. Here’s one off the post from Milano. The puck available in the blue paint and Skinner’s able to fall on it with help from Echome on Philip Heedle as well from the Vancouver Conucks and he’s got a reputation I know but it was a clean hit. Here’s Nurse a drive scores. Darnell Nurse with his second of the period and Edmonton has sliced it to 32. Boy, when you got the hot hands get her going. This one is just dog and work once again. And we’ve talked about digging in, winning some more puck battles. I know the panel was praising Heman on this line. He’s going to ignite them. He’s going to get them going. And that’s exactly what he does here. It’s a winger win on the face off into the corner. And he finds back the other way by the Caps. Play is ruled on side. Dropping it off and a shot. And that might have grazed the right shoulder of Steuart Skinner, but the eventually do. Lapierre and it’s into the slot and rushing down the left hand side is Ethan Frank to the net. Quick shot, a save made by Skinner as Louis he’s not. They’ve got one win in nine games. It’s still a team whatever you want to say it still runs through Ovuchkin at this stage. Timely goals game winner last game versus the Los Angeles Kings. Five and one when he scores a goal. He scored tonight. 3-2 Washington as we begin the second. Mjapani to the point and Darnell Nurse who scored a pair in the first ripped one just wide. Here’s Bushard in front. Little bump back door. A save made by Thompson. Even the first couple minutes of this period was fairly loose. They’re a little more tentative now. And Mark tried to get one to Frederick. Instead, it comes free to Leonard. Goes toward the net. Beats Bard and backhands one home. Ryan Leonard’s second of the game. 42 Capitals. [Music] And Leonard gets this puck. Let it go through him and then just protection. Left shoulder into the chest of Bard and then the quick move in tight. This is a fantastic move. And I know Spencer Carbury said this kid every single day is working on the little details of the game that are necessary for a young player. But he says every single game he the inside. But this will be a feel-good game for Edmonton. They can dig in, get the next one, and grind out this game against Washington. Won’t be easy. Caught the outside of the left post. Milano’s drawn iron a couple times tonight. Hey, let’s not forget Luke Kadzik on the panel tonight. He fit in right with that mix. Oh, absolutely. David Tamasic in front. backhander score and Edmonton right back in the game. Tamic with his second National Hockey League goal. Back in the lineup due to injuries and this is how you make your presence felt. He’s always had a knack for going around the net. Get the puck in deep. Get to it first. That’s get on puck first. Good recovery and what a pass from behind the net. As Tomic pokes this puck around, he gets himself to the front of the net. taken around the board. So Venchkin came in front and that was whacked toward the point. Twoon one now. Strowman Boilier with that call back. Bollier shoots and scores. 5-3 Washington [Music] [Applause] could have given this puck back in the middle with a good stick pitching down the wall. There goes M Japani. Sorry, Walman. But then somehow as Yanm’s about to kick this puck on side right here, he just fumbles it. Can’t control it. Credit Stro for being right there in a beautiful little backhand pass. I mean, such a and a plethora of skates. And finally, it’s Tricidle safely on his stick to BA across to McDavid. Cross ice one-time score. Tricidle cuts it to 54 on a beautiful feed from McDavid. Dryidle. Power play goals. Just much more urgency on this power play. Passes are quicker, retrievalss are better, movement is better, and that’s key. A lot of movement around on this one. Eventually, it’s dry with that patented one-time kind of chips this one a little bit. Doesn’t maybe get all of this one, but because it goes off the top of the blade up over top of Thompson, who was there, little bouncing puck, a tip by a lunging, pounded on net by Thompson. Dream save by Mol. and finally dangled off the boards to Nurse. Shot back down low for Heyman. Brushed off his stick. Carlson hard rim up the right hand side. Great keep by Nurse. But now the Cavs advance and a shot coming from Wilson. Bullseye. 64 Washington. Tom Wilson an empty net his 10th. And that may be enough to salt it away. Opportunistic in their chances. Good play here and poise to put this puck around by Carlson just to wait that split second. Six on five off the faceoff jabbed at and ultimately controlled by Ros. Here’s Booard. Shot blocked. Net is empty. Wilson’s going to have another one. 74 Washington and that will do it. Two empty netters for Tom Wilson. Watching players a little different way than he normally does in the press box. And Tom Wilson’s been going to force. He’s been physical with Washington having won by a score of seven to four. Strong game for the Capitals here. Down. [Music]

Ryan Leonard potted a pair of goals, Connor McMichael added three assists to his season tally, and the Washington Capitals handled the Edmonton Oilers 7-4.

  1. Bouchard is the best 2 way player in the league…..he assists on opponents goals in one end, and when they change sides after a period he does it again in the other end…..he needs his wages garnished and put the money to a worthy cause

  2. It doesnt look like Skinner is even trying at times, like he's given up before they even score. Slow as molasses side to side and gets beat on screens way too much, its just bad positing when it happens so often. Find the puck! Edmonton could have scored again if not for Logan Thompson finding a way to make some big saves even though he didnt have his best night either. Trade Bouchard or Nurse and Skinner, while they still have value, throw in a winger or 2, a draft pick and get some better

  3. McDavid only allowing up-and-coming big right-shot D-man, Alex Regula 1:33 minutes on the ice isn’t good for strengthening culture. Maybe coach McDavid needs to rethink his strategy??

  4. Just sell the whole defensive line and spend it all on offense. That's pretty much how the oilers are playing anyway. All the defenders thinking they're goal scorers and giving up on their actual jobs.

  5. always the same asinine and redundant commenty about goalies or Bouchard or Nurse…… cant you see every other superstar how they drive their team to wins by being clutch,

Once you realise the Oilers problem is McMememe you will finally get it.

  6. haha giving up 7 to a last place team missing their top 2 centers….edm if you really had the top 2 centers in the game like you keep telling everyone you wouldnt lose that game if you re-ran it 100x

  7. The can’t get a better goalie because they gave Bouchard the bonehead all the money that money could have gotten a real good goalie the team didn’t need to sign Bouchard could have let him go or sign for less
