I think the Devils could use him and they have right-handed D we can use and could be available. Only problem it is within division, so may be hard to get done. However, Neich is the exact type of player we should be targeting. The trade is one for one. God, that would be amazing, right? It’s like, hey, you scratch my back, I scratch yours. You need center depth. We need a right-handed shot defenseman. Let’s let’s do this. Yeah. Throwing Colorado’s first, right? Yeah. I was going to say I think you’d probably need to add more on top of that. But that is the kind of move that I would be looking to make. Right. We’ve talked about finding a long-term D partner for Matthew Schaefer as a major goal for the 2026 offseason, but if that’s something you could even get started on now, I would do it. Like, would I rather use the 28th overall pick on drafting someone in 2026 or package that with a guy that you’re looking to move on from to find that answer from a what? How old is he? 22. 22, I think. Yeah, that sounds right. He’s drafted in 2023. Yeah, he turns 22 in February. Yeah. Yes, please. That that is the guy we should be targeting. And obviously, they were they they’ve made inquiries in the offseason. It’s just the price tag has gone up not only because in division, but because he’s been productive, right? He scored that hat-tick the other day. Um how many points has he got up so far this year? 12. Yeah, 12 points in 18 games is pretty goddamn good. And it they’re also missing missing Douggee Hamilton right now, too. Yeah. So, like he has to play right now because Dougey’s out and he’s getting eyes time to boot. Like the last three games have all been over 20. Sorry, the last four games have all been over 22 minutes, but three of the last four have been over 26 minutes. Yeah. I I mean, there’s a reason why he was what, the second overall pick. Uh yeah overall in 2022 like ideally we can get him ideally but I I think the cost is going to be quite high although like that’s the point right like we are trading something that’s quite attractive in John Gib Pou if we have to give up more than a first maybe a prospect that we don’t necessarily want to give up but have to yep let’s go absolutely it’s worth it I just don’t feel like he’s expendable to New Jersey right now when they get a little bit healthier Maybe it’s a different conversation in January and February, but right now I I don’t think it’s it’s feasible at the moment, but obviously subject to change. Correct. Yeah, once Douggee Hamilton, as you said, comes back, that ice time goes back down. I like that a lot, though. Yeah, that would be ideal. But we’ll see. Maybe New Jersey wants to hold on because they know that Douggee Hamilton isn’t going to be here forever either. He seems to be missing quite a bit of time every year. And is he he’s not at the end of a contract? I don’t. Oh, he has a longterm. He has a few years left on that contract. Two more after this. That’s it. Okay, that one. And Neich is up for a contract going into this year. Boy, boy. So, interesting stuff there for New Jersey. Big big big decision to make with Simon Image.
