I'll tell you that for free. I'm happy we got Hronek and a season of Zadorov, but I feel like they could have been acquired via other means. On January 30th 2023 I felt super weird about the trade and it sucks even more knowing that Horvat felt that he was misled by management.

  2. I’m sure that if they could have gotten those pieces without dealing Bo, they would have. Hindsight is a bitch ESPECIALLY in scenarios like these where former Canucks are having good years..

  4. It’s hard for me to believe there was a time we had miller, pettersson and Horvat. It really makes you think about whatever decisions we made to get to the point of this roster here, granted at the time our d core at season start contained Rathbone, Burroughs, poolman, and Stillman

  5. I’m happy for Bo. It sucks that management basically threw him away and kept Miller but I’m glad things seem to be working out for him. Not just with the Islanders but he’s getting talked about for Team Canada too which is great.

  6. His coast to coast goal against St. Louis in the bubble is still one of my favourite Canucks goals of all time. That goal alone made me buy a Horvat jersey.

  7. Bo is a stand up guy on and off the ice. Very happy to see him doing so well. Wish he could have been a franchise player.

  8. I have an outsized love for this guy. He’s up there with the Sedins and Lou for me even though I know that’s probably not fair to the other guys we’ve seen come through Vancouver that deserve some of the flowers I’m giving Bo, but man he was *the* guy.

  9. We should be happy for Bo. He’s doing great and all along he wanted to stay here. He never requested out, management decided to move on instead

  10. Bo was an absentee captain who did not make his linemates better. He got most of his goals off of turnovers or tip ins off point shots. He has great speed and knows how to go to the right areas in front of the net, but he’s no puck distributor. He’s a winger who takes face-offs. His post game interviews were always the same bs, no answers.

  11. This fanbase is so bipolar, holy fuck. Just a couple seasons ago, no one cared that we traded Bo, and people thought he was overpaid. We traded him, he’s gone. Let’s move on.

  12. Still the only jersey with a name on it that I own, I became a fan around 2010 and horvat was the first sign of the “new core” after the sedins I was so hyped for him and Shinkaruk(spelling?)

    Trade looks pretty even at this point. I would say slight edge for the Canucks.

  16. Me too. Dude is cool as cucumbers. Was never an enforcer, and he should never be but myself included called him vanilla which in hindsight was a non-factor. You build enforcers around Horvat.

    I’ll always hope he does well, and have a soft spot for him. He was a good captain, and a great Canuck.

    Let’s not pretend that we’re not having this conversation if he’s -1 and 16 points on the season though… hindsight is a bitch.

  22. Always nice to have a player of that caliber.
    But I am happy with our return on that deal.

    Something was off with his captaincy but not sure exactly what.

    And no one could have predicted the debauchery that happened last 2 years at center position.

  24. Canuck’s should definitely look to trade for him. We’d have to give up too much though which would suck.
