Calgary Flames vs. Buffalo Sabres | Full Game Highlights | ESPN NHL

All right, let’s get this one going. Sabres fans interested to see if this team has found its groove here and taking on a Calgary team that has had some struggles this season. So have the Sabres in time. So we’ll battle down on the goal line. Sabres can’t lift it out past Kevin Ball. Another big one at 66 standing at that blue line. Here’s Ball walking into the middle for a shot. Rebound in front of Ellis. They score. Rebound got away and Rasmus Anderson jumps on it and gets the Flames on the board first with 1402 remaining here in the opening period. Here’s Cadri. Don’t give too much ice. Dances in the line. Sharon go left side. Cadri in behind the net takes a look. Sends it in front. They score tapped right in. Fairy goes to the net and Nasam Cadry had enough time and space to wait and find him. It’s two nothing Calgary here in the opening period. Yeah, Joel Ferry’s going to get his third of the year. But as you talk, Nasm Cadrick checked on the wall and now it’s played ahead. Osceland to Malenstein at center. He’ll flip it in and chase after Savers on the turnover. Score. That puck was turned over. And I tell you what, there’s a goal machine developing in Buffalo. He wears number 23. Yeah, big goal for this group. Samson steps in. Sabres with a dump into the far corner. Puck comes back to the point for Dene. Far circle up top scores. T Thompson. He let a rip 93.2 m anph to bulge the twine and tie the game at two. Bouncing puck ahead to Hubo and he’ll carry it up the center ice. Take the return pass on the left wing. Hubedo back post play. They score. That’s a pass and crash over the far post and it’s Frost who will get his fourth of the year and it’s Calgary back on top. It’s three to two. Byum ahead of Coleman who finishes his check. Alex Tuck touch pass, but that does not get out of the zone on the stick of Connor Zerry. Anderson with a blast. Loose puck in front. score. [Applause] Backlin reaches to find that loose puck and the Calgary Flames are back to another twogoal lead with 1226. 10:34 left here for the Sabres down two. Tage Thompson got a goal in this one. And with the puck in behind the net, tied up. Now comes Timmons. Right corner for Thompson. Far side. Cadry on him in a hurry and the puck lifted down the ice in a race for it. There’s a chance scores as Farby got in behind everyone to pick up the loose puck and all of a sudden Calgary with three are up five to two. Flames with Coronado throwing that one cross sucks. Here’s Hubo. Coronado swipes at off the glass right in front. They score. It goes off the back. [Music] [Music]

  1. Pathetic, losing to the worst team in hockey after smoking the Oilers last game. It’s like the Sabres looked at the Oilers game as a chance to showcase what they can do as individuals, maybe hoping to get noticed by a playoff team in case they get shopped at the trade deadline. Kevin Adams invested way too much trust in his prospect pool and most of the kids didn’t or won’t pan out. He has too much cap money allocated to marginal players who aren’t developing at the NHL level. Not sure who would even consider replacing Adams, the situation is probably the worst in hockey and unless they hire a first time GM like Adams was they won’t draw a solid candidate. I don’t think they’ll get a decent head coach after they let Lindy go. It’s not working out and I don’t think they have any prospects ready to turn it around but that’s what happens when you are drafting teenagers to play a man’s game. It’s hard to guess who is going to pan out. I used to get the Hockey News future watch issue for a few years, it’s amazing how many of the top prospects don’t make it in the NHL. The Sabres had the top ranked team prospects a few years ago and that should tell you something about prospect rankings. You can’t build a winning team through the draft in hockey. The kids take too long to develop…
