There are sooooo many great quarterbacks that sucked in their first year!!!!!! Let jj learn in his first year! Then next year we can judge….
Mac would be a good backup but I'm not giving up on JJ.
Let’s see if KOC pulls JJ if he is terrible again this week.
I get it, but this would be a major red flag that koc cannot produce young talent, or that kwesi failed again with a major draft pick. Something weird about the mcvay/Shanahan tree that only works with veteran qbs.
Back then they didn’t want him. Now he’s hot, they all on him.
If the Vikings sign any of those QBs listed in the last paragraph I'm going to barf. Literally.
DUDES NAMED KYLE 😂😂 like the Trevor Wallace video with the Kyle meet up
I was literally thinking we should get Mac jones. Dude was solid playing for a beat up 49ers team
Esiasan must’ve been a terrible father cuz that Chris guy kinda sucks
He meditates and finds his zen, then… McCarthy turns into the GREAT CORNHOLIO!
D. Jones currently on a one year deal. Would not sign w/Vikes, next year, he's the starter for the Colts regardless of Richardson's status. He wouldn't come back unless he has a shot to start.
If you're going to go after a "Jones," go after Daniel Jones, who is on a one year contract with the Colts. This year, Daniel Jones has a 100+ QB rating, he's thrown 15 TD passes, his team is 8-2 and has scored the most points in the NFL. And we had him and could have easily re-signed him at a reasonable price, but clearly, Kwesi and KOC, the geniuses in charge, decided McCarthy was already a superstar, despite playing less than one NFL game, so why would we need Daniel Jones, even as a backup. And Kwesi and KOC won't go after Daniel Jones at the end of the season, because that would force them to admit they screwed up by not signing him.
If McCarthy doesn't show real improvement in the final 7 games, this is more likely than not to happen.
We will have NO White Monster slanders here.
The Vikes need to start over. New GM, Coach. They blew it big time, especially this year. You build through great drafts. They haven’t even had an average draft with this GM and Coach. They pissed away a lot of picks and have nothing to show for it.
Dude we always wanted a young QB to develop… now we are in it. I'm locked in and I'm loving the journey.
The national sports media assumes the Minnesota Vikings organization is stupid because they haven't won a Super Bowl. They are wrong, of course.
We need more short passes and to keep the run game active. Skol
Just like the chatter we were signing A-a-ron or trading for Cousins.
Yes he's only started 5 games. But that's 5 out of 27 games in less than 2 years he's missed with injury. Now he's showing regression and accuracy and focus issues. I wouldn't be against keeping him around for good rookie contact length. But the Vikings don't owe this kid a damn thing. He has to prove he deserves the starting job on this roster. And if we get to the end of the season with 1 or 2 games left and he still looks like ass, put in Brosmer. Nobody cares about mentally fragile players who can't take competition. We didn't need another Cousins in this roster holding the team back.
Trade for Will Levis and let him compete for starting spot. Make JJ grow a pair .
Everything's about click bait right now with these guys. And many of the people that are posting the hatred from McCarthy never wanted him there in the first place and don't think he ever had what it takes.
But I believe he does need to show consistent marked improvement over the next seven weeks. For instance, instead of completing 52% of his passes over the next couple weeks, he should be able to complete at least 60% of his passes. That alone would make a difference , even if they are checked downs. As we know, one extra completed pass or first down can often make the difference in a game because what follows could be a scoring play. He is close and the team is close, but they have to prove it on the field. This is what's great about the NFL, one game a week and then you have to suffer for the next few days or week until the next game to see if your team can turn it around. I have faith in Coach O'Connell and I think McCarthy has the raw skill set to be a franchise QB. But he has to improve and prove it on the field. Not withstanding the haters and the beyond 24 seven podcasts, prognosticators, NFL experts, flooding my newsfeed, I enjoy your positive take and comedic spin on all this. In the end, it's Entertainment featuring athletes, mix in a soap opera and you get the NFL. Small market team who doesn't have the biggest fan base is what Viking fans are stuck with.
Let's see improvement against the fudge packers! can I be canceled for that comment?
Go Vikings
Not a thermos back in the news! Best nickname ever
This is stupid all the way around. We have this QB2 named Brosmer, but our fraidy cat coaching staff stuck a knife in his back and brought in old man Wentz. NOBODY was sitting around this past summer wishing we had Wentz. If they were, why did we name Brosmer our backup??? Who made the ridiculous decision to call wake up Wentz off the sofa? We had a QB1 and QB2 and we were ALL ready to roll with that decision. BUT, our timid, gutless coach wasn't confident in his decisionmaking (similar to his fraidy cat play calling), so instead he calls up some 3rd string talent off his sofa and has him come in and waste both time and opportunity. Now, the season is done and we're playing for draft position at this point. It's time to start planning for next year. Bench McCarthy and play Brosmer. It might help McCarthy get his head together. We've seen that happen with other QBs in the past. If Brosmer is successful, then we'll all be happy, but if not, at least the benching might be the thing that gives McCarthy the spark he needs to get his head on straight. Meanwhile, Jefferson is probably in the background pondering whether he should ask for a trade in the offseason. He's clearly disgruntled and when watching the games, he actually looks more disgruntled than I am…
I'm so tired of re-treads and 100% good with JJ and Max. The Purple Jedi will be worth the wait.
What I find interesting is that everything KOC says he needs to improve on, are the same attributes that he says Max Brosmer has. When we lose against Green Bay & Seattle it should be time to see what Brosmer has
KOC needs to be supportive with his play calling and game management. He puts the whole team under unnecessary stress.
Whatever happened to whoever is the better player plays why not have a quarterback controversy if you want to call it that why not if if brosmer is better why wouldn't he be the one playing it's just because he's a draft pick JJ so dumb what if browser goes out and balls out and he ends up being a great QB from what I've seen from them in the preseason he was pretty accurate with a very good arm…
Florio always tries to stir the pot
Playoffs?! Are you kidding me? Playoffs?
Like how it’s “our rookie hasn’t been great after 5 games, let’s go sign that former 1st round QB whose team gave up on him too early!”😂🥴
"Chatter" is code for "nobody but Florio is talking about it"
He's had some wild throws. But I've never been more confident in a MN QB to have what it takes to lead game winning drives. We'll see it on the biggest stage before long.
Thermos lover is always stirring shit cause his show sucks!
Ik this isn't going to be popular, but I've always thought that Kyler Murray would light it up with the talent we have on this team. Ik many don't like him, but I'm kinda a fan.
I ultimately want to see JJ pan out. . But if the team decided to go a different direction, that would be my pick.
THE DUDE HAS PLAYED 4 GAMES…sheeesh! He is very young and inexperienced, yet he has some qualities that can't be taught. Qualities that the only greatest of QBs have. If the Vikings weren't prepared to give him a long leash, then bad on them. Give him an off-season to fix the mechanics of his throwing motion and let him develop in year 2. Then make the decision to cut bait or not. Personally, I would wait out the rookie contract. The kid is a leader and can inspire his teammates in crunch time. If he goes somewhere else and develops into the Superstar that is nascent, I will repent being a Vikings fan for 55 years.
McCarthy to Cleveland for picks
I'd take Mac Jones over JJ. Despite all his experience and coming from a top-tier program, JJ hasn't shown much promise. Yes, Michigan was caught cheating, but even so, his throws should be better. He's no Josh Allen—Allen showed way more potential early on. JJ feels like a lesser Kirk Cousins with a weaker deep ball. Five games in, and he still hasn’t impressed. Injuries are unfortunate, but that’s football. Start Max and let them battle it out in real games. What do we have to lose? It’s been 36 years and still no Super Bowl.
I was saying I thought mac jones was a fit a while back. Who knows by the end of the year tho
I'd rather lose every remaining 2025 game with McCarthy than win some 2025 games with Mac Jones.
I have heard the "what if" about Mac Jones elsewhere, but I doubt it's likely. Mac is in a similar position to 2024 Darnold and will probably want a starting job somewhere. I actually don't hate the idea of Brissett or Tyrod Taylor joining the team for a veteran presence as a backup. These guys are well into their backup roles and can still play competently in that capacity. They can help JJ grow without causing major QB distractions. Considering JJ has been injured a fair bit so far, that insurance may not be so bad.
Florio has so many stupid takes. He must pull these out of a deep, dark orifice
