“Safety might not be Arizona’s biggest need — that depends on what happens with Murray at QB — but stealing the best player of the draft while improving the back end is how smart teams are built. Jalen Thompson will be a free agent this offseason and Budda Baker turns 30 in January, so adding Downs — who has deep range and the strength to play in the box — would make sense.”

  1. I don’t hate it, if Murray stays, and we’re picking at 10 and our choices are the third best qb or the third best tackle, I’d take downs. Dudes a difference maker.

  2. I mean I think we’ve shown the past 7? Years that we’re pretty good at drafting safety. I’d much prefer OT or another position of need

  3. Completely depends how we find ourselves at the end of the season. We seem to do very well on drafting when it comes to the secondary. We do desperately need help on the offensive line though.

  4. This just doesn’t make sense. We already have a great safety room, in fact I think we should trade Budda next year. Even if Thompson doesn’t stay, safety is not a high end position, and we have Rabbit and Crawford, both late round picks ready to go. This team has desperate needs at other positions, taking a safety is a miss use of the first pick.

  5. We need a solid guard for the inside run game and pass protection. But if we are looking for QBs I like Oregon’s Dante Moore so far. For guard I like Olaivavega Ioane.

  6. Not a stretch at all. Bidwill has a strong history of making sure Monti drafts OSU players to cut down on uniform costs.

  7. He’d be the next great safety for us, but I’d honestly prefer an OT. The line is just dreadful

  8. This happens every year

People don’t know anything about the Cardinals so they mock the, “this guy is too good to fall farther than this” guy to Arizona

  9. Smart teams build on the trenches, don’t get cute offensive line is what the pick needs to be in the first round
