Bryce Young’s first win in the NFL, on a last second FG by Eddy Pineiro vs the Texans, snapped a streak of 56 straight losses when Carolina was down at any point in the fourth quarter.

Bryce by now already has ten game-winning drives under his belt.

I know this is random, but let’s remember the truly dark times so we can cherish even more what’s growing these days.

  1. Is it weird I feel more confident in Bryce during close/clutch situations than I do in normal ones??

  2. The franchise is called the Cardiac Cats for a reason. Bryce is just supporting the narrative.

Also shout out to Ryan Fitzgerald. Bryce is the one that drives us down the field but it doesn’t matter if your kicker misses.

  3. I did a quick check the other day and counted 14 or 15 drives where Bryce has led a scoring drive to tie or go ahead with under 5 minutes. So for example, the go ahead TD with 30 seconds left in regulation against the Bucs, or the TD drive to tie the Chiefs game with 1:46 left.

That’s just crazy to me that in almost half of his starts, Bryce has at least put our team in a position to win the game at the end.

  4. Its pretty crazy how clutch he gets when it matters. We can talk all the shit we want about Bryce in the leadup to the final drive- but is there a QB in the NFL right now who is better at engineering game winning drives?

I’ll say this- NOBODY- wants to play us tight.

  5. When trailing at all in the fourth quarter? Or trailing going into the fourth quarter?

  6. Bryce Young in the fourth quarter during that game:

    * Bryce completes a 5-yard pass on 2nd and 13, then takes a sack for a loss of 12. Punt.

    * Bryce takes a sack for a loss of 9 yards on 1st and 10, Raheem Blackshear gains on a run, then Bryce takes a sack for a loss of 9 yards again. Punt.

    * Incompletion on 1st and 10, 12-yard pass on 2nd and 10, two incompletions in a row before connecting on an 11 yard pass, gets sacked for a loss of 9 yards, scrambles for 7, 10 yard pass, 3 yard pass, 14 yard pass <– this is Bryce’s last throw that game which put us on HOU’s 30 yard line.

Chuba then runs it six times to gain 10 yards. HOU gets penalized twice, so Eddy takes the kick from the HOU 5 yard line.

  7. Also before Bryce, the Panthers won the NFC South 3 consecutive seasons, appeared in 2 Superbowls and 4 NFC Championship games.
