And before we get into the strange contract situation happening in St. Louis, let’s just dive straight into a positive thing today where we do see from the St. Louis Blues. He’s back and Jake Neighbors has been lifted off IR. Now Jerry, what is your thoughts on Neighbors coming back? We’re going to break down exactly where he’s playing in this lineup, which we love to see. But what is your thoughts? Well, quite simply, thank goodness they needed this guy back in the lineup because he was the hottest player in the lineup when he got injured. Of course, he’s only played eight games and it feels like almost forever ago at this point that he got uh injured. He had seven points in those eight games, so almost a point a game player to start the year. very impressive stats. Uh he’s playing way more ice time than he’s accustomed to uh or we’re even accustomed to seeing him play because he, you know, was put on the top line. He was put on the second line at points this season. And we got an update from uh you know, this morning that he will be again on the top line as he returns to the lineup. He’s going to be playing with Thomas and uh Snugaroo on that top line. Actually, I believe he’s going to be playing on the left side. So, they’re still playing around with the lines a lot, but looks like he’s going to be on the left side and they’re going to pair those three together because they had really good chemistry going the last time they played together in Detroit, which again feels like forever ago at this point. So, he is returning to the lineup. They need him back desperately. He’s one of their best offensive players before he got hurt. Uh, and this could be a little bit of a boost to the lineup, which they need. They just need something at this point. And I think that’s the biggest thing. I mean, looking at Jake Neighbors, he’s not going to come in and will this team straight into a playoff spot by himself. But listen, if he did this, we’d love to see it. But with Jake Neighbors returning, you’re getting a guy that was hot from the start. Six goals in those eight games. He’s going to continue starting off good when we’re seeing him play on the top line. Robert Thomas makes everyone look elite as well. So having an elite scorer next to an elite playmaker is going to look great, but I think it’s going to get interesting on how they’re doing the lines. Like you said, these lines are changing. And we’ve seen the reports coming straight into before recording this that Snugroot is going to be up on the line. But I think the biggest thing is that we’re seeing BC stay on that third line and a lot of fans, Darius, myself included, do you think keeping BC on that third line till he either gets going again or just keep him there to not hurt the top six is the right move? Well, if anyone watched our video yesterday, if you’re listening to anybody in the comments, some people want him on the fifth line right now. But I think that yes, he is going to be staying on that third line. I think it makes sense for him and everyone at this point. He’s not playing well enough to play on that first line. Why would you reward this player with more minutes? This is a guy who has to be demoted. And then why would you mess with the chemistry uh or a little bit of chemistry that that second line has, right? He should be playing less. He isn’t playing well. You can’t put him on the fourth line, although it’s heading in that direction at this point. But I think you keep him on the third line, and we talked a little bit about it, and you made this point the other day, Mark, that, you know, with him playing on the third line, he’s going to be playing against lesser competition. uh and you know hopefully when you’re doing some of your line matching he will be out there against you know other teams third lines maybe fourth lines uh in certain situations and he can maybe take advantage of that and build some of his confidence back up because he is not playing well right now so we’ll see how that plays out but yeah you got to keep him down there this is definitely a demotion uh and he has to earn his way back up he’s not playing well and there’s other guys like Neighbors even coming back from injury yes he’s coming back from an injury but when we last saw him he was one of their best players so of course you’re going to put him on the top line and this team needs a spark any spark right now. I wonder if somebody drops the gloves, maybe they need something like that to happen to get them back in it. But yeah, to me, you can’t move them up. And I think the biggest thing is, listen, with neighbors coming off the IR, we do see that Alex Tex has been pushed as a nonroster player. Now, there’s a lot of reports flying around about Texier at the very moment. We can see from Rutherford coming out, the plan is for Texier to go on waiverss. NAV clear’s expectation is for him to be assigned to Springfield. Now, there’s a lot of reports coming out and it’s getting really confusing where we see Elliot Freeman on 32 thoughts say that the rumor is he’s considering terminating his contract. He’s played only one game for St. Louis since October 28th and is making 1.2 dear. The big thing is we seen this situation happen with David Kemp with the Toronto Maple Leafs going on waiverss going down to the AHL terminating his contract joining the Vancouver Conucks. Do you think this is the situation where Texas is looking and saying, “Hey, I’m getting a bit up in age. We know where I’m to in my NHL career. I want to prove that I’m an NHL player. Do we see a contract termination like the Cam situation? And do you think he’s gotten as early as maybe tomorrow or Saturday? I think it’s actually headed that way because he’s not playing that much and you might ask yourself and you brought it up, Mark. I mean, what’s the president for this? Has this happened in recent memory? Yeah, it happened last week with David Camp and the Toronto Maple Leafs and now he’s on the Vancouver Conucks. So, when you’re looking at, you know, expectations, expectations uh are not confirmation, right? The expectation is of course if he clears waiverss, yeah, he’s going to be assigned to the AHL. That’s usually how it works. But now with this new report from Elliot Freeman on 32 thoughts, I think that he is probably headed towards a contract termination. And again, you can see here he hasn’t played since October 28th. They’ve barely used him. Uh guys like um Bustad are making it into the lineup rather than him. And obviously you have Sunquist as well that keeps getting into the lineup which makes sense for this team, right? Like I’m not saying that that’s a bad move or anything like that, but he hasn’t been able to get into the lineup uh you know since the lineup was completely depleted and you had you know Robert Thomas out due to injury. So um I think that it is headed for a contract termination at this point because of all the reports and the only thing that we have saying that it’s the opposite is what the expectation is which is what normally happens. So, I do think it’s headed towards that way. And again, he’s a he’s a pretty good player, right? He hasn’t been able to crack the lineup, but he can offer uh some things and some depth scoring, but there’s also rumors about him going to other teams and that other teams would be interested in his services and a lot of fans are already talking about it. So, I think it’s probably headed that way for sure. And I think the big thing is, listen, Texas has shown flashes, we’ve seen through his career that he does have skill. He just has not worked since joining St. Louis. And that 1.2 2 million in cap space. If you send him down, you’re going to free up some money regardless if he goes down. But if you get the contract termination, it opens up a full realm of possibilities for a team that’s struggling right now. We kn know the 2.1. He’s an RFA at the end. So, if you’re terminating this contract, he will not get his money. You’re looking at him signing somewhere else, but Darius, we see the reports coming out that Texas A is a piece that Montreal may look at. Now, listen, a trade doesn’t seem likely. he could clear waiverss and we see them trade him to the Montreal Canadians. But speaking of Josh on Habs Digest, he said there seems like a 0% chance they look at a trade unless they’re claiming him on waiverss. Do you think this makes the most sense? You place him on waiverss. It’s most likely going to happen today when the waivers open. And do you think Montreal is a team that’s going to look at him and maybe you can try to get a draft pick to trade him if he does end up clearing? I think it makes a lot of sense for Montreal if they wanted to sign him if he terminates his contract. But just like the David Camp situation, I mean, Brad Living, the GM in Toronto, talked about how uh it was headed in a direction where he did not want to play in the AHL. That was for sure. They had to find an alternative alternative route for him and it was either contract termination or a trade. And he said they were working on a trade. If you know that this is the situation, nobody’s going to trade for this player. Why would the Montreal Canadians trade for the player? It’s unfortunate for the St. Lewis Blues, but there’s no reason for them to do that if they know they can just sign him. Obviously, you know, there’s situations around the league where we know people would rather trade for the player, even just their rights to sign them to have the right to sign them. But I I don’t know if anyone’s really, you know, Texas is a good player, but I don’t know if anyone’s really like chomping at the bit to sign him, right? So, I think the Canadians think that if they want him, they can get him if his contract is terminated. So, I don’t see a trade being likely here. they’re probably going to lose this player for nothing, which is unfortunate, but I don’t know if he’s a needle mover either, right? Especially with the way that this season has uh gone. So, losing this player for nothing, I don’t know if is a huge blow for the Blues, but it is unfortunate. And I think the big thing is if looking at Texas, if he clears waiverss and he wants to play in Springfield, if he starts to light it up, maybe a team gives up a low draft pick to acquire a guy to have him in the AHL, you don’t have to send him through waivers. But the biggest thing is it does seem like you said there’s every team could have called and said, “Hey, we want Texas a but the 2.1 for someone that isn’t offensively producing for a team. Giving this up is going to be quite hard. But I mean fans, what is your guys’ thoughts on this? What is your thoughts on the Texas A situation? Let us know down in the comments.” And speaking of comments, let’s go straight into comments today. They have to stop giving these damn no movement clauses to everyone. That’s the biggest thing. I think it drops the AAV. But at the end of the day, it makes it harder to trade players. But fans, what is your thoughts? What is your thoughts on Texi? What is your thoughts on us getting neighbors back? Let us know all your thoughts down in the comments. While you’re down there, leave a like, subscribe, share this with your friends. 1. They need defense and heart, both from their back pairings and up the middle. This team wasn't going to be as good as they finished last year but they shouldn't be this bad. They're going to have to make some moves, problem is the lack of heart from the pieces you need to move have weighted contracts so that makes moves unlikely. They have one cheap move still to make to add an element that could help them marginally get a little better. But that won't be enough for the whole year. They needed to get younger on defense for the future but it's definitely an issue in the present.

But I still think overall it's Pye-hole and Darn-ee-us' fault they thought of this You-tube channel idea last year game seven, with two minutes left in the third period giving the Blues only four seconds to manage their jinx. Stats don't lie!!!

  2. texier not going to the AHL is absurd. He is clearly not an NHL player. He is one of those guys that can put up a point a game in the A but cant play in the national league
