The Sacramento Kings RUINED Everything

Yo, what’s going on y’all? It’s Con and the Sacramento Kings ruined everything. This is a disaster of a franchise. There is no sadder situation in all of the NBA right now. Remember three years ago when the Kings were lighting the beam. They were a top three seed in the Western Conference. They broke the playoff drought. They had this great sevengame series against the reigning champion Golden State Warriors behind Dear Fox, the first clutch player of the year. And Demand Sabonis, that duo, which people question. They’re like, “Hey, you’re trading away Tyrese Halbert and that might be a mistake.” But they played really well. Keegan Murray is setting rookie records. Sacramento for a slim moment was the center of the basketball universe. And here we are three years later and they are a laughingstock. Tonight they fell to 3 and2 losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder which by the way schedule makers not doing the Kings any favors with the start of the season here. They have played the Thunder three times. The Nuggets twice and they play the Nuggets again in a couple days here. Not that it matters because the Kings are just terrible. They have now lost seven games in a row and every one of them is by double digits. 31 to the Thunder, 27 to the Timberwolves, 14 to the Nuggets, 33 to the Hawks, 14 to the Timberwolves, 13 to the Spurs, and 14 again tonight to the Thunder. Like has been the case for them for years now. They cannot defend whatsoever. They are the fourth worst defensive team with a defensive rating of 119.6, which is egregiously bad even for Sacramento Kings standards. And guess what? They can’t score anymore either because that was at least the the silver lining for them for a couple years. It’s like, yeah, they’re not going to defend much of anything, but they’re going to put up a billion points. Uh they right now are the 25th ranked offense in the entire league, only ahead of the Mavericks, the Pacers, the Wizards, the Pelicans, and the Memphis Grizzlies. They have a worse offensive rating than the Brooklyn Nets, who are 2 and 12. Not that the Kings are much better because they are 3 and 12. And it has just been a masterclass and completely ruining something great. Again, that Kings team was one of my favorite non- Thunder teams I’ve ever watched play. And now they’re a shell of themselves. It makes me sad to watch the Kings play. I didn’t even get that much enjoyment out of the Thunder just routing them again tonight because I’ve seen the story now three times this season. And it makes me think about what was. And it really is a cautionary tale of how to take the best season your franchise has had in so long and squander it at every possible opportunity. like immediately after they have that season, they do basically nothing in the off season to significantly improve. They bring back Harrison Barnes. That that was kind of it. And they’re like, “Hey, we’re going to be good again.” But everybody knew they were going to fall down the standings. And they fall so far down, they don’t even make it into the playoffs. It was a nightmare year. And then going into last season, they’re like, “Okay, yeah, we do have to make a bit of a change.” And they signed Deamar De Rozan. Why? What? What was that possibly going to do? I didn’t like the trade when it happened. I tried to be optimistic. I’m like, “Hey, maybe this mid-range score adding a little bit of a different look could make things interesting.” But simultaneously, they’re adding a non-repoint shooter to a team that already had question marks about shooting and also can’t play defense for anything on a team that can’t defend for anything. It didn’t make any sense that that was the the big target they had all summer. It was ridiculous. And then, you know, you get to a point in the season where things are crumbling and De’Arren Fox ends up being traded. And do they get back a big return for the guy that brought them back to relevancy who’s one of the best players in Kings history? No. The trade was terrible. It It looked terrible the moment it happened. It looks even worse now because they sent him to the Spurs. And did they get the Spurs pick? No. A pick that ended up being second overall. That’s fine. The Spurs probably weren’t going to part with their first round pick. Understandable. Uh did they get any interesting prospects? No, they didn’t. Okay. Well, you didn’t get like a a Sohan at least or Kell Johnson or Deon Vel or, you know, they probably weren’t going to get Savon Castle. Fine. I get it. Um, but at least they got, you know, at least one of the Hawks picks, right? Those are super interesting assets. No, you tell me they didn’t get a single one of those. You’re telling me the return was Zack Lavine, City Sissoko, uh, couple first round picks and a few second round picks. By the way, one of those picks is a 2027 Spurs pick. That’s going to be terrible cuz they have Victor Webbyama, Darren Fox, and whenever they’re healthy, they look like a juggernaut now. That’s the package they got back. They went after Zack Lavine. They’re like, “Hey, you know what’ be super fun? Remember that Bulls team that everybody’s talking about, hey, they won’t blow it up.” And making fun of. What if we just did that again, but now in Sacramento and like a worse version of it a few years after it was ever good and relevant? Let’s do that. That’s what they did with De’aran Fox, one of again, one of the best players in franchise history. They would not get him help for so long. They finally get him a little bit of help and then when they’re good, they again decide, okay, that’s enough help. Yeah, just go ahead and figure it out. And yeah, Fox wasn’t perfect by any means. Like he didn’t have a season as good as that one, but even still, they didn’t do him any favors. It was not a good roster. They somehow thought like that Cinderella run that they went on towards the top of the Western Conference, which they earned, but they somehow thought that that was replicable and a West that got significantly better around them. They’re like, “Yeah, we’ll just go ahead and run it back and Keegan Murray development is going to save us.” I don’t know what they were possibly thinking. And then the hubris to be like, “Yeah, we’ll trade Darren Fox for a player who can help us win now. What are you doing?” Nobody was taking Zack Lavine. And Zack, credit to him, has been really good here in Sacramento, but guess what? it’s still gonna be really hard to get rid of him because he’s making $47 million this year and like 49 next year on a player option which he’s absolutely gonna take because he’s not getting that on the open market. And as well as he’s playing like no team is going to give you any real assets for Zack Lavine on that type of contract. So now you’re just stuck with him until he expires or you get kind of scraps for him and he was the main piece you got back from one of the better players you’ve ever had. the guy that led you back to relevancy and the other guy in Damont Saponis is doing with injury right now and is a big that nobody knows if he’s going to work in today’s NBA like I don’t know what contender what high level team or anybody for that matter is going to trade for Sabonis and give you anything really substantial because his value has to be the lowest it’s been maybe ever at least in a long time because he doesn’t defend you know he knocks some threes here and there but he’s not a volume three-point shooter he’s a great rebounder great offensive big but you have to have like a perfect situation for Damont Sabone bonus to be effective and win at the highest level. Not because he’s a bad player, but because his archetype just isn’t super successful in today’s NBA unless you have the right pieces. And I do think there are teams out there that could make it work. Like I do kind of think the Celtics make a little bit of sense at least. But like that are they going to be willing to give anything substantial up? Probably not. I don’t I can’t see any team throwing you multiple first round picks. So they squandered all the trade value they had of basically their whole core because again, no one’s giving you anything for Demar Rosen. you just sent Keegan Murray to a huge contract, making him a lot less desirable as a potential piece in another trade if you wanted to flip him for something or some team was like, “Hey, we’ll give you a first or maybe even a couple for this young guy, Keegan Murray, will buy in on him.” Now, you gave him a major contract and his value is even lower. There’s not a lot of role players that have a lot of value on this team outside of like Keon Ellis, who for some reason Mike Brown wouldn’t play. And now Doug Christiey’s also like let’s not play Keon Ellis very often as one of the only guys who can defend on this entire team and can also shoot the three ball when you need guard play which by the way you get rid of Darren Fox you don’t get a point guard back this off season you bring in Dennis Shruder and Russell Westbrook and Shruder’s been really bad for them so far like he he’s not the kind of point guard that makes sense. Shruder is like this pick and roll point guard like you saw what he was able to do in Detroit. That is not the style they play over here in Sacramento. They don’t have the pieces to replicate that. and Russ has been great, but he’s in his mid-30s. He’s not the future of the point guard position. They don’t have anybody there. There is no future here right now in Sacramento. Luckily for them, they do still have their first round pick. It’s not like they mortgage their future further, so they’re not completely screwed. But I have no faith in this Kings front office to make anything out of what, you know, this top pick they’re going to get. They could get the number one overall pick and grab AJ Deance or Darren Peterson or Camboo or whichever one of those guys they want. And I don’t have any faith that they’re going to put the right talent around them or develop them in the way that they need to be developed because it’s become they went from the the highest high they’ve had in like my entire lifetime basically. They were higher, you know, in the Western Conference Finals all those years ago, but in the time that like I could like form memories, it was the best Kings team that there had been. And they somehow within three years have just thrown it all the way into the gutter. And I feel bad for Kings fans because they finally got a taste of being back and immediately it is all gone and they’ve made basically every wrong decision possible since then to the point where now they’re a complete joke. They’re a joke, which they’ve been for most of my life, but I thought they were maybe going to get out of it. And and no, that’s not the case. Everybody’s been talking about, oh, the Pacers, they’re this utter disaster without Tyrese Halbert and Miles Turner’s gone and the Brooklyn Nets, like is this one of the worst basketball teams ever? They have one less win than the Sacramento Kings. They cannot defend. They can’t shoot. They somehow built a roster that makes no sense. They How did they recreate the Bulls? The team that everybody was begging for them to blow up. Everyone’s like, “Oh my god, every deadline, how did they not trade away Lavine and all these guys? How like h how did they not get back any of the Hawks picks for Dear Fox or a Spurs pick that was like last like last year?” Like last year was the last year to get a Spurs pick. 2027 does basically nothing for you. That’s the first round pick you wanted in 2027. and Zack Lavine. It’s just I cannot believe they ruined everything they did and all this is coming out. I’ve been waiting to make this video. Um and I knew like I almost made it after they lost to the Spurs without Victor Webbyama by double digits on Sunday, but I was like I I know they’re going to lose to my Thunder, so I’m just going to wait. And it it just really is sad. Like there’s just nothing with this team at all. It’s Demar Rosen. Hey, go hit a tough mid-range jumper or two for us. Oh, the other team hit three threes in a row because we can’t guard anybody. Um yeah, Russ, go get us an and one. Hey, that’s cool. You know, shout out to Brody. Oh, the other team hit five more threes on us and, you know, walk to the basket 18 times. Oh, okay. Well, that that’s that’s a little bit unfortunate. Um, yeah, it’s just it is an utter disaster. Nobody really has trade value. The team’s not good. And I I have no faith that they’re going to turn this thing around anytime soon. And I really feel like we’re staring down the barrel of another massive Sacramento Kings drought. I feel terrible for Kings fans. Um, that’s just my rant. I think that’s all. I don’t even have much to say about the game that they played against the Thunder today. They honestly kept it somewhat competitive, like more than competitive than some teams. I mean, Shay came back in the fourth quarter. Like, that’s a success. And Shruder had one of his better games of the season with although he shot nine of 21, but 21 points, 16 from Malik Monk. Also, why over the course of the summer did we just hear a million reports that they wanted to get rid of Malik Monk and that they were like so desperate to bring in Jonathan Kuminga, who doesn’t do anything for this team that Oh my god, I can’t do it. I can’t do anymore. Um, yeah, the Sacramento Kings ruined everything. I’m sorry, Kings fans. like Precious Achua was one of their better players tonight. 159 and three assists. He was one of their better players. Uh Sha Fried them 33 points on 50% shooting, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals. Chad had 217 boards, uh three blocks. Lou had 14 points hitting four threes. It’s the way it’s been every Kings game. And their schedule doesn’t get much easier, by the way. Like they’ve had a tough schedule. But coming up here, they’ve got Memphis, Denver, Minnesota, Phoenix, Utah, Memphis, Houston, Miami, Indiana, Portland twice, Houston, Detroit, Dallas, the Lakers, the Clippers, the Celtics, the Suns, the Bucks, the Mavericks, the Warriors. It’s not getting easier. Uh the Rockets, the Lakers, the Knicks. That’s until January 14th. They could win on that schedule. I see maybe like four to five wins if I’m being real generous. We could reach that point and they’re like nine and 28 or whatever. if they get to that exact record, like go bring, you know, clip this, go back to this point of the video. Um, I got to cut off the rain here because I’m gonna keep going. But yeah, let me know what you think about the Sacramento Kings, the situation that they’re in and how things are going for them. I’ll just run through the rest of the games because honestly, that took a lot out of me to go ahead and rant the way that I did there. Um, let’s talk about Rockets Cavaliers. Rockets pick up another win, 10 and three. They’ve been so good this season. Another great game from Shenon, 28, 11 and seven. Kevin Durant didn’t shoot great, but still had 20 points. Reed Shepard. Uh, I just feel like at this point when he’s on the court, the offense looks a lot better. Almond Thompson’s been kind of disappointing so far this season. I mean, defensively, he had five steals and was clamping up on Donovan Mitchell and everybody in front of him. So, he’s not been bad on that end, but I was just hoping for a little bit more offensive development, but it’s still kind of coming along. Uh, for the Cavaliers, I, you know, kind of getting a little bit worried about them. I mean, no Darius Garland. Like, this is a hard game to win against a really good Rockets team, but you are at home. They kept it relatively close. I don’t know. I just expected a little bit better from the Cavaliers up until this point and I haven’t seen quite what I’ve wanted to see. Like I just want to see more from Evan Mobley. I’m such a big moy believer, but it’s just not come along the way that I thought it was going to. His game that is the Knicks beat the Dallas Mavericks after trying as hard as they could to throw the game away. Uh J Brunson made his return. Uh was pretty good. Had 28 points, three rebounds, five assists, 18 to 14 from Carl Anthony Towns. The story was Landry Shamut at the end of the game going crazy, you know, helping them get to the the finish line and then they missed five out of six free throws down the stretch to the point where Brandon Williams had a layup to go ahead and tie the game, but they caught an offensive foul that I honestly don’t think was an offensive foul. So, the Mavericks go ahead and lose, but like the Knicks try to throw this game away. They they get a road win though. They they’ve not been able to win on the road, so that’s a that’s a positive, but it it was ugly. And and we want to talk about the Cavaliers that be being super convincing. The Knicks also like, you know, they’ve dealt with some issues. There’s no Ojobi in this one, but the Eastern Conference, I mean, not a lot of teams have looked super convincing outside of like the Pistons, to be honest. They’ve looked the most convincing to me. Uh, the Bulls beat the Trailblazers on a Nicole Vousvich three-pointer. Uh, the the story of this is the Blazers defense has just fallen off a cliff from last season. Like, yeah, they’re dealing with injuries. They were pretty beat up tonight. I don’t blame them for giving up a number of points, but on the season, I think they’re like the 22nd defense or something along those lines. They’ve looked terrible so far on that end relative to where they were. Maybe the Chanty Bip stuff, you know, has sh has them shake it up is throwing everything for a loop and Thiago Splitter is not quite that defensive mind. I don’t know what it is, but they’ve got to be a lot better because that was supposed to be their calling card. Uh the Nuggets beat up on the Pelicans 125 to 118. It wasn’t that big of a blowout. Actually, we saw Peyton Watson score a career-high 32 points if you want to talk about bad defense. Uh Joic had another typical Joic game, 2811 and 12. That’s just the standard for him. Actually, nine turnovers though, which is a big jump for Jokic. And on the Pelican side, Derrick Queen, 30 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks. 12 of 18 shooting. He was cooking it. Jeremiah Fears went out there and in 16 with three rebounds, seven to 15 shooting. Like those two guys, I’ve loved a lot of what they’ve shown so far, especially Derek Queen. I mean, there’s been a lot of conversation and noise surrounding the trade they made. And I still think it was way too much value to give up to move up and get Derrick Queen. I feel like there was still there had to be another way to get that trade done, but I mean, he’s looked great so far at the very least. So, if that pick doesn’t end up being one of the top three, maybe they get out of this better than we previously anticipated. And with how bad like the Wizards and the Nets and the the Pacers have been so far, maybe it won’t be a top three pick and Derrick Queen will become a star cuz I mean, he’s been one of the most impressive rookies up until this point. I’ve loved his game. The Pacers get their second win of the season. Speaking of them, 127 to 118. A disastrous offensive per or defensive performance really both sides from the Charlotte Hornets. LaMelo’s been really bad now for a majority of the season. 18.6 six turnovers, five of 21 shooting. Conanle continues to be awesome. 288 and seven. Uh but yeah, I mean it was Benedict Matan 24 points, 12 boards, 22 from Seakum, 15 from Ben Shepard, 16 from Andrew Nemhard, 20 points from Jay Huff. Everybody was torching this this Hornets team. And it’s an offense for the Pacers that’s been awful this season. One of the worst in basketball. And it just kind of looked easy against this Hornet squad, which is not what you want to see. The Raptors continue to win, knocking off the 76ers. Just continue to be really impressed. their fifth win in a row over there in Toronto. I just made a whole video about them, so I won’t talk about them much, but great games from Scotty and Brandon Ingram and Yaka Perto and RJ Barrett and Emanuel Quickley. Like the whole starting lineup looked fantastic out there. For Philly, there a lot of ups and downs. Uh really, it feels like they’re always in crunchtime games and then they sometimes perform and manage to gut it out, but other times don’t. Just Maxi, the limitation he has right now is it’s hard for him to kind of create those shots down the stretch. Like a lot of times Nick Nurse is like, “Hey, Tyrus Maxi, just go try and cook the defense.” and it it doesn’t always go the best. Of course, they missed Joel Embiid, no Paul George in this game. Uh, you know, continuing to ease back into play after returning last game. Also, third quarters, I I forgot to look at the stats before this video, but the Sixers have to be the worst third quarter team in the league. I mean, they are just a disaster there. Uh, the Heat beat the Warriors. It was kind of close, even though Golden State had basically nobody, but the Heat pull away late. Bameio, 20 points in this one. 25 from Norman Powell, who very well might be an all-star. Uh, and yeah, for the for the Warriors, I mean, the starting lineup was PMsky, Moses, Moody, Trace Jackson Davis, Ge Santos, and Will Richard. Like, they weren’t going to win this one. And Pods has been so disappointing this season, really, ever since his rookie year. 20 points, eight rebounds, six of 19 shooting, though. He talks about how he wants to do better than Steph Curry. It’s not going that way. And finally, the Timberwolves blow out the Washington Wizards. Nothing new there for the Wizards. 120 to 109. Nas at 2832 for Julius Randle. Julius Randle has been so so awesome this season. Uh, and yeah, for the Wizards, I mean, 10 from Trey Johnson, eight of 17 for Keshan George, 23, seven and seven. He’s just continued to be uh their best player for majority of the season. But yeah, that’s kind of the NBA today. A decent number of blowouts. Honestly, not a lot to say about some of these games, but really just a rant about the Sacramento Kings had to happen. So, I appreciate all watching. Leave like and subscribe if you enjoyed. Let me know down below in the comments what have your takeaways been from this season so far for your favorite team from this slate of games. And mostly, what do you think about the Sacramento Kings? What is their direction and how do you feel about how they’ve absolutely ruined everything from a few years ago? But for the moment, I appreciate you watching. I’ll see y’all later. We won back.

The Sacramento Kings just lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder to fall to 3-12 as one of the worst teams in the NBA. Their core of Zach Lavine, Domantas Sabonis, and Demar Derozan makes no sense, they traded De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs for nothing, and they’ve fallen to the cellar after being in a real battle in the NBA Playoffs with Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors three years ago. It’s an insane fall off and one of the saddest stories in the NBA.

  1. Many front offices in the NBA "suck". The NBA is run by The Tribe who are destroying professional sports. College sports is next. Get rid of them and life in America improves.

  2. The Spurs 2027 FRP actually could be worth something if Wemby ends up retiring or dying, and the Spurs keep their limp-wristed "head coach" around thanks to POS Popovich.

  3. I, for one, am excited about rebuilding the Kings in 2K again. They are my second favorite team specifically because for many years they were my go-to rebuild team in the game, and their narrative of not making the playoffs in like 2 decades was fun to fix. Once they had that run a few years ago, it felt unrealistic for me to keep doing it with them, so I moved on to the Wizards 🤣

  4. It's almost better to have a GM so stupid he drafts Marvin Bagley over Luka than to Draft him, then get the stupid GM that gives him away for nothing

  5. The worst part is that they had a chance to save it. After the brown firing, they were building a decent defensive identity with Murray and Keon while fox was injured. But what did they do… grab mediocre offensive talent instead of focusing on what they do good. The fox trade was stupid, almost selling your whole house on Shrodder and Westbrook was even worse. I swear a bum off the street could manage this team better

  6. the schedulemakers sacrificing the kings so that the end of the season will have historic team records and highstakes seeding playing eachother. i think the scheduling will make this season a classic

  7. Sabonis had 3 injuries this season… Keegan Murray was also out. Fox forced to trade for Spurs only or he would had left for nothing. Spurs just had to match salary and that's it and Bulls got opportunity to throw away Lavine here…

  8. I feel like the Cavs and Knicks deserve a lil more grace.
Cavs are missing more than just Garland. Strus has been out, Merril has been in and out including last night., Tyson has been out the past two weeks. They’re missing a lot of their shooters.
Knicks just got Brunson back, missing OG, and have a new coach. They’re learning a whole new offensive system while missing key guys that make it work.
I get that neither have looked that great/dominant, but I think it’s too early to panic on them yet

  9. The real issue with the beam team after 2023 was that kevin huerter went from their best shooter by a mile who could drive and score off his shooting gravity to hot garbage in record time

  10. Non above average defensive bigs can work in the NBA. Karl Anthony Towns is awesome. Nikola Jokic is always criticized for his defense, but he is the literal GOAT. Nikola Vucevic has been very good for a very long time. Lauri Markkanen is a great player. Deandre Ayton made the Finals. And if you give Domantas Sabonis some floor spacers and competent wing defenders, he'd be an all-NBA player.

  11. They couldn't get more for Fox because Fox completely tanked his own trade value by saying he only wanted to go to San Antonio. Kings had no leverage at that point and had to take whatever the Spurs gave them, or else they would lose Fox for nothing later down the line. No matter what, Fox was going to the Spurs. Sacramento was in no position to demand more from the Spurs.

  12. Im so tired of people blaming the kings when we gave Fox everything he wanted and then decided to go play with Wemby. What were the kings supposed to do? Let him walk next season? Nope this is Foxs fault

  13. what did you expect from a coach who never coached in his life, what did you expect from a owner who is the worst owner on earth, what did you really expect from Sacramento

  14. They were very good 2 years ago when. The kings was in #3 & made the play off! But the Kings Admin. Dismantle that team by letting go Harrison Barnes, Kevin Hearter & Bagley! Then after that, the kings fired coach but still made the play in last season! But, right after that, they let go De Aaron Fox their best player! Then again, they let go Valencuinas, Trey Liles & Jake Ravia which could help them make more wins & to be able to make a play off this year! What kind of Management is this? It’s soo bad!
