I think it could be a decent idea for the right price.

  1. How many of these do you want? We arent going to win the cup with former 1st round reclamation projects

  2. I hate replying to a repost of a Servalli tweet, but hope they pull the trigger. Lambert has all the tools, I see a lot of potential in him.

  3. As long as we don’t give up anything more than a 4th. Benning wasted a lot of picks on stuff like this

  4. I don’t love Lambert personally, I think he’s got some tools but I’m not totally sure they’re NHL translateable. Depends on the cost.

  5. Has anyone looked at his +/- rating at practically every level (except one season with Seattle T-Birds)?

    Season | Games | Points | +/-
    :–: | :–: | :–: | :–:
    20-21 | 46 | 15 | -24
    21-22 | 50 | 11 | -15
    22-23 | 40 | 41 | +18
    23-24 | 65 | 56 | -5
    24-25 | 66 | 36 | -30
    25-26 | 6 | 1 | -3

  6. If it’s for a low cost, possibly. He had 35pts in 61 games in the AHL last year, but was -30.

It doesn’t seem like he has a defensive game or maybe it’s just that he’s mentally checked out of that org. I could easily see him being a bust, but if he’s cheap, why not

  7. D+2: 55 points in 64 AHL games.

Then inexplicably 7 goals in the AHL last season (and something like 28 points).

There’s upside there but he seems like your typical ‘*the coach will never play him bc he doesn’t provide enough offense to justify the poor defensive play*’ type of guy.

…if you want to know the most likely outcome just have a look at Reichel.

  8. I like Winnipeg as an org. overall but they remind me of Detroit in that they let too many young players go and had all vets in the end. You need a mix. Look at their depth chart and its gonna age real fast in a couple of years.

  9. If he’s part of a player package, yes. If we are continuing to bleed draft picks on reclamation projects, I’d say no.

  10. He hasn’t done squat at the professional level and looks like a bad late round pick. If we get him for next to nothing and put him in Abby for development go for it. But if we have to sell real assets for him and keep in the nhl hard pass!!!

  11. 6’1″ Center, former 1st rounder – yeah I’d say we should be.

That said, he is absolutely a defensive liability most nights. We have to be careful to shield his ice time… and we already have a few of those guys.

  12. Fool’s gold. All flash, no substance player.

Has not developed into any kind of mature player. Including this season he’s at nearly three full seasons of AHL play and he hasn’t developed into anything resembling a two way asset and his offense is not good enough to justify it. He fast though.
