New York Knicks GOT A GIFT

The New York Knicks may have gotten away with one in Dallas last night. Some are even saying they got a gift from the officials. We’ll break all that down on today’s show as there is a lot to discuss around this basketball team. But if you’re happy to win that game, look, the Knicks have been on the wrong end of a lot of bad calls in our lifetime. If you’re appreciative of this win, hit that thumbs up icon right now. [Music] You’re watching Nick Now by Chat Sports. I am your host, Marshall Green. Appreciate everybody for stopping by. A lot of people have been asking me and I’ve been asking people, was this a foul at the end of the game on Brandon Williams when they called an offensive foul that wiped away the game tying bucket. in a moment where I was sitting right behind that play and my immediate reaction was I thought they were going to call a defensive foul on Landry Shamut and it ended up thought it was going to end up being an and one opportunity for Brandon Williams to win the game for Dallas. Look, you can see that he clearly hooks Landry Sham in that moment. Shamut somewhat bumping him a little bit before that. He goes on to make the basket, but it was inevitably wiped off and the Knicks win that game. They get out of Dallas with a steel job and maybe even a gift from the officials. I’ll take it. I go back to that game a couple of seasons ago where they called that foul at the end of the game on Jaylen Brunson against the Houston Rockets that caused them to lose that game. I say this all the time on our Giants channel here at Chat Sports. Good teams find ways to win. Bad teams find ways to lose. A and that was on full display last night in this Knicks and Mavericks basketball game. The New York Knicks are the first team in NBA history to miss 30 plus threes and 15 plus free throws but still win in regula in regulation. Find a way to win the game. And that is what the New York Knicks did. What they did at the free throw line down the stretch inexcusable. Landry Sham, you got to make both those free throws. At minimum, you got to make one of them. When it comes to Mitchell Robinson, look, I don’t expect you to ever make free throws, but I didn’t love that him and Male Bridges were kind of just laughing going to the free throw line, knowing what was going to come. And then Jaylen Brunson, my guy, you got to make both of those free throws. Look, we know that we we all love Jaylen Brunson. We don’t have many bad words to say about Jaylen Brunson, but one thing that I have noticed in his time as a Nick is he will miss some clutch free throws. Got to nip that in the bud. Cannot let that happen any longer. Um you’re too good of a basketball player to do that. I want to go back to the team stats and take a look at those. And the Knicks just stole this one. um you turned the ball over and the reason you won this game was because you actually took care of the basketball. You didn’t shoot it well. You only shot 28% from the field uh from three. You only shot 54% from the field. You shot less than 45% from the field, but you took care of the basketball well enough to where you beat them in the turnover margin. You had eight less turnovers than them, and you had four more assists than them. And you also had a big job uh on the offensive glass. Shout out to the people that contributed there. So, you stole this one. You got away with one. Good teams find ways to win. Bad teams find ways to lose. I think the Knicks are a good team. Um again, it is only November. I tweeted out when the Knicks were losing this game against a Mavericks team that is depleted of talent that I asked, are we sure the Knicks are a good team? And look, I I’m not sure they are. I think they are. I think they are going to be okay, but I feel like in a couple of these games they’ve left a lot to be desired. It was good to get Jaylen Brunson back on the court though. Why did he play all of the first quarter? That was weird. And then he played 22 of the 24 minutes in the first half. I guess Jaylen may have told uh coach Mike Brown, we’re playing the Mavs if you didn’t know. Uh I used to play there and I want to play the whole game and I want to beat him. And he got the job done. He had some big buckets in that fourth quarter. Hit a couple of threes as well. didn’t shoot it all that well from downtown, but overall he was pretty efficient. 47.8% for the field, five assists, just one turnover. Um, just make your free throws. That’s all I ask. We love you. Josh Hart, watching this guy play in person is is insane. He is the Energizer Bunny out there. I mean, the the the the shot that he put up prior to the Landry Shammit three in which he followed that up with an offensive rebound. to kick it out to Landry Shamut. It was like the most Josh Hart sequence of all time. And then he goes three of four from three. Um he was money from the corners last night. He’s actually shot the ball pretty damn good this year. He ends up going two of six uh from the two from inside the arc though. Got to be a little bit better there. But look, 16 and 10 from Hart five times. Uh he was good and he was a major piece why the Knicks won this game. How about Landry Shamut? I know he didn’t play well on I believe it was Monday against the Miami Heat. We know how good he was on Friday against the Miami Heat, but today or yesterday, last night, he hit a big-time shot. It may have was it even was it two threes late in that fourth quarter? Yeah, two threes late in the fourth quarter. Um, right spot, right time, get the job done. When the ball finds you, find a way to throw it in. And he he’s done that time and time again in big time moments um this year already. Shout out to Landrew Sham finding a role on this team, earning minutes and and forcing Mike Brown to play him and that’s all you can ask for as a player. Hats off to him. Big- time stuff last night, but please make your free throws. I Male Bridges needs more looks. Like he is so efficient. I feel like they the Knicks just leave meat on the bone when he doesn’t get the opportunities. Like he needs to be getting up more than 13 shots if he’s going to connect on nearly 54% of his attempts. Um, he’s so good in that mid-range, man. I was really impressed watching him play last night. He moved so well on the defensive end. The Knicks perimeter defense continues to be a major problem. I think the Mavs shot north of 35% again from downtown. They got to find a way to nip that in the bud. 36% last night for the Dallas Mavericks. They got to find a way to get that done and and and better as soon as possible. For Carl Anthony Towns, um, I don’t know if he’s hurt. I don’t know if he’s dealing with stuff off the court, but this is one of the worst starts of a season that Carl Anthony Towns uh has had in his NBA career. He is not playing good basketball at all for the New York Knicks. Uh in 14 games played, he is averaging 21 and a half points and 12.8 rebounds, but he’s shooting sub 43% from the field. and not what’s most concerning, but I feel like what what what sucks and what is holding him back is he’s shooting 31% from three. That is where he is supposed to be the best big man shooter of all time. And if Carlo Anthony Town is going to shoot 31% from three, which I don’t think that is going to last much longer, uh the Knicks are going to be in a in a big problem. So, uh, another thing that pops off the page to me in the nine wins this year, Carl Anthony Towns is averaging 24.3 points per game, 12.4 rebounds, and he’s shooting 46% from three, and 38 46% from the field, and 38% from three. In the five losses this year, Towns is averaging 16 points, 13 boards, good stuff there, 36% from the field, and 18% from three. When he is good, the Knicks win. When he is bad, the Knicks do not win. Except last night, he was not good. It was worse in person. Um, but they found a way to find a way. Um, shout out to the Knicks. Cat, as long as you’re here, we’re always going to root for you to play good ball, but we need you to step it up, my man. We need you to step it up ASAP. A lot more to discuss. Deuce McBride getting up 10 threes. We’ll talk about that, but I want to let you guys know this shirt. It is on a major sale. Was $48. Now it’s $33. Get your shirt today. chatsports.comnicks shirt. It’s Nick’s shirt. chatsports.comnickshirt. and use this promo code Fox like De’Aran to go and get the deal. All right, Deuce McBride. Um, he came into the game last night firing threes, three after three after three after three. He was getting them up, man. Um, I don’t have a problem with him shooting that many threes. Uh, he he’s a good shooter. He’s he’s going to make some of them. Um, I feel like he came in the game though and he shot like four threes in the first five minutes of that ball game. Just letting him fly. Uh, look, it’s November. I’m not trying to overreact. Um, I’m just a little frustrated with how slow out of the gates the Knicks are and how their good games look so much different than their bad games. And maybe it’s just because it is November. Jordan Clarkson, look, he he he can get to the hoop. He can finish. Had a couple of creative finishes last night. didn’t shoot the ball well from downtown. Um I I like Jordan Clarkson. I like him on this team. Uh another play finisher, another guy they can rely on to put the ball in the basket. I’m a fan of his. Mitchell Robinson, I didn’t think it was his most impactful game last night. Um kind of went up against some some good big men uh in Dallas. Uh not his best game, not his worst game. I just didn’t feel much of an impact from Mitch last night. Gershon Yabisell. Um, man, what a disappointment he has been so far. I’m hoping it clicks. I’m hoping he finds a way to to get back into the player that he was last year with the Philadelphia 76ers. But 05 from three last night, like not great. Plus 15 for Gershon, but man, individually he is he has not been good. 2070 from three. Um, and like when he misses, they are bad. He had an 18 foot like mid-range jumper last night that looked good and I I thought it was a three and I talked to my guy Coop. I was sitting next to like no that was that was a two. I like why is he taking an 18 foot mid-range jumper off a pin down? Um is what it is. The Knicks need to defend the three-point line better. Look, I know the Dallas Mavericks have some guys that can let it go. Um but like you you kind of got cooked by Klay Thompson, Max Christie, Brandon Williams. Um, Naji Marshall owns the Knicks. Jaylen Hardy always cooks the New York Knicks. Like Naji Marshall, when he gets to play the New York Knicks, he turns into one of the best players in the league. I would actually love Naji on this team. Competitive player on defense, can handle, can create. Um, it’d be it’d be a good boost. Hardy had some big-time buckets as well. Um, it was it was honestly just a disgusting game to be honest with you. It was not good hoops, but the Knicks found a way to win. The stat that we read at the top of the show was something that I that just puts it into perspective for me. The Knicks are the first team in NBA history to miss 30 plus threes and 15 plus free throws but still win in regulation. I’ll take it. Get out of Dallas and let’s start a win streak. 1. I’m not worried. This team has been collecting new players like Pokémon cards, since last year. It takes time to figure out what evolves into what. But hey, progress! We’re no longer starting games in a 20-point hole. We’re actually hitting halftime close or tied. That’s growth. Once the perimeter D tightens up and the injury gods chill out, we’ll be fine.

So, Knicks fans… keep the faith! 🙏😄

  2. Hey, if they gon call the wrap-around offensive foul on KAT then call it on anyone else too. 😁👍 Knicks got the win, and on to the next game. 💯💪🏼

  3. I think it was the right call, the references saw the offensive player wrapped his arm around the defensive player to make his move, and it's about time the references make the right calls for all teams not just for the knicks, because as a reference you don't take sides, in other words you don't favor any team when you're calling a game, it takes the fun out of the game, and you're never know who's the better team if you don't call the game right

  4. Every time the Knicks lose 1 game you got to stop overreacting to the lost this is the league anybody can beat you in any giving night no matter their record the Knicks are not in a losing streak if you lose one game always bounce back in the next one

  5. KAT is struggling true but it's a new offensive system and every one else was struggling too they had good looks just didn't go in and they miss 16 free throws also stop nitpicking one player it's a team sport
