  1. Was anyone else worried that Doc was going to use his “c’mon guys” expertise in one of the overtime timeouts?

  2. And just like that, all the PG haters are nowhere to be found. Where’s all the “loser energy” people parroting r/nba since it’s hard to think for yourself?

EDIT: And here come the downvotes from the softees. Can’t even have a fun spirited conversation about being happy you were wrong tonight?

  3. The rebounding is so much better this year even when they play 3 guard lineups. Maxey and VJ being plus rebounder is such a boon.

  4. The most impressive thing to me during OT was Maxey boxing out Turner under our basket leading to us securing a defensive rebound. Insane to think about during OT of a 3rd game in 4 nights away SEGABABA

  5. Weirdly encouraging game, honestly? Everyone except Tyrese and George kinda sucked and we still pulled it off. Walker was okay. VJ’s performance looks a lot better without those two smoked layups. But our guys are typically gonna be much better.

Shoutout to Grimes and Edwards for OT, though

  6. Flyers and Sixers decided to both win in OT after trailing in regulation, tying it when it matters, and looking better in OT.

    Philly Sports is so back!

  7. Great game by Maxey. But the ugly truth is we got horribly outcoached this game and that coach was Doc

  8. Watching the post game and man does Nurse love Justin Edwards. It’s almost comical how much he enjoys his game.

  9. I seriously think Maxey will get MVP next year. And that’s because I delusionally think this team can become a contender next year

  10. idk how sustainable this is but tyrese on a different level. one tyrese off game and we can pack our bags

  11. If I had a nickel for each time a Philadelphia sports team won in overtime tonight I’d have two nickels.

Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice

  12. That would’ve been so unfair for Maxey if the Sixers couldn’t pull out that dub, but they needed every bit of his 54 points, and PG’s hot start to pull it out! To everyone out there who wanted Dame and didn’t think Maxey could handle this, where you at?

  13. I thought Edwards was gonna shoot us to a loss.  He made up for it in OT by playing better, and I appreciate that ability to bounce back.

  14. We may have found another franchise guy. Thank god they started building around him right with a guy like VJ. Those two growing together could be something special

  15. I find it funny how the Bucks had a chance to ice the game instead bottom of the 4th but instead foul a red hot Maxey giving us the eventual OT win.

Sometimes you just got to force the tough shots and hope for the best.

    9-6 nonetheless!

  16. I moved to Philly in 2001 and went to my first sixers games that year. Loved watching AI every night.

Maxey reminds me so much of AI. At least how he plays the game.

This team may be able to succeed and go far without Embiid

  17. Barlow +16 in 29 minutes with only 2 points.  If he keeps proving his worth as a role player for the next month or two we gotta lock him up in whatever way you do for two way contract players.  Have to reward people for their play, especially when they’re necessities.

  18. Maxey, wow. PG was pretty great too. McCain slowly finding his way into this offense as well.

  19. Anyone notice the parallel to the 2001 season that the NBA keeps showcasing in our games?

MVP Iverson carrying the Sixers to the Finals

We got MVP Maxey putting up insane numbers to carry the Sixers to wins.

Last time the Pacers made the finals, Sixers made it a year later in 2001 aka Iverson’s MVP season.

I’m not getting ahead of the season as we still have a very long way to go but it’s something to think about as the season progresses.

  20. I feel like Maxey, Cade, and Wemby will essentially battle for 5th place in all-nba 1st team. But my god I’d be so happy to see Maxey there
