NHL Highlights | Oilers vs. Lightning | November 20, 2025

And we drop the puck in Tampa. And you will
see the American Express starting lineups on your screen. And we here we go. The Oilers
sixth game of a sevengame road trip. One more to go against the Panthers. Good job in
front. Rebound is there. Taken by McDavid. Here’s Dado in front. Score. It’s the Oilers who strike first. And boy, did
Trent Frederick need that? Did the Oilers need that? They have had slow starts. Was critical for
the Oilers and they had been on their heels for the first minute and a half and instead they
they come they come out of zone and only the second line has come out here. They’ve only had
one shift, but I love the anticipation there by Leon Dryidle. He gets the puck in. You can see
he doesn’t go in really hard. He just reads the play. Understands it’s zone entry. Piece of
cake as usual. Goes to dry settle. The right circle is his home. Bard with the blast saved
by Vasilstein. Trent Frederick second of the year has given Edmonton a one- nothing lead.
Here comes McDavid. Full flight to the net. Backhander. So rebound just wide from Heyman.
A pass off pad pop from McDavid there. Room in the slot. Here’s McDavid in front again looking
for Heyman Seavoy. Beautiful pass to Henrik who’s out there with Frederick again. Henrique shot
saved by Vaselki. He’s been busy early David is flying tonight. He split the D. Save Vaselki.
Bard blocked in front. Squirts to Vaselki who covers up and gets the timeout. Radish now has
to deal with him. brings so much to this team. Here’s Darnell Nurse. Nurse to the net. Save.
It’s three. Passes finally pokes it out of danger. Here comes Point on side. Is it for Paul
in front? Save by Per. Looked awkward doing it, but does make the save. And here’s an
example. Now they got to re-entry. Spend all this energy and time. Celli fires. Blocker
save by Pickard. One-time Cooer rips it wide. Coulson battles Hegel who still has it.
Throws it towards the front of the net but Bousard has it. Goes to Echome and the
Oilers are able to get it out of trouble. Back come the Lightning. Now Japani Pod Cole
it enters his own backhander save by Vaseli. So that pair of Shaw Edward Dasu even after that
9-1 beating to Colorado expected them to come out high. Wman hit hard slowly getting up. Nice save
by Pickard with the blocker. You mentioned point off to a slow start. Just three goals. Here’s
a chance for him to feel good like Frederick did with his second of the year. There he is.
Saved by Pickard. They understand it. I mean that the secret doesn’t stay secret for very
long and that’s typically what has opened up Densel down low. But right there, Densel
does a good job coming out, finding that space. And then look at Point. It’s a perfect
little 10-ft pass. And a good save by Pickard. One power play goal this year for Point, one
of his three. And there was the chance there. Wheels in front. Here comes McDavid. Short-handed
dryidle Echome the trailer. McDavid shot saved by Vasileleski. Keeps it alive. Pokes it to
Genser. This is where this is where it’s starting for the Oilers though. They’re
in the offensive zone and they’re killing plays. They’re not allowing Tampa to come
out of their zone cleanly. Wman fire save as two minutes to go. Here comes Kulak. Leaves it for
Tamasha. Shot again by top of his crease. Let’s get those defensive back for Tampa Bay. Shot 25
to9 Edmonton as the first period winds down. One more chance for the Lightning. Maybe Lillberg to
the net. Where is it? It’s loose. Picker makes a couple of saves. Trying to fish it out. Paul has
it now. Does it? He’s had plenty of touches on this power play. That’s more than halfway through.
Cucherov shot saved by Pickard. Almost beat him with Densel screening. Radish on his toes. Keeps
it in. Good catch by Cooerov. One of the things he does so well is catch the puck and pass the
puck. Save by Pickard on Borkstream. Ultimately, it’s Braden Point who gets the shot. Watch
this. This is such a fake the slap shot and he threads the needle. Bjorkstrand can’t quite
get it as a one-time. The toughest guys in the league and had to, you know, miss most of
the period for the repairs that he needed, but good for them. Shot puck is loose.
Back handles makes the save on Heyman. He’s heating up. He’s now got seven goals in
his 18 games he’s played. Here comes Cooerov. Cucherov can’t get around Wman’s. Quick shot.
Chest. Save. Quick chest from Calvin Picker to deny Cooerov. Third in franchise history in here
in Tampa. Already eclipse, 1000 point mark at,2 Gourd has it now back to the point. Radish. Paul
is there allows Kas too up off the wall but good play by Emerson to read that play. Here’s Bon
Cosen. Shot. Bousard is very quiet, so he just gives the room energy. Bousard to the net.
Tipped by Hyman. Left pad saved by Vaselleski, but Tricidle can’t handle. Goes off the heel of
the stick. Hegel by himself on the power play. Surrounded by three. Shot blocker saved by Pickard
Celli. Stasu can’t handle that. Nurse and Kulak in the box. Koulak will come out first. He’s on his
feet. Nurse has to wait for a whistle. Shot into the glove as Nick Paul picked up the bouncing puck
and Pickard remains perfect. One on three. That was at the just at the end of the last power play.
They were able to to generate but the Oilers still have it. Conor McDavid on the ice and has the
puck. Nice pass to Echol. Now here comes Ekhol. Shot saved by Vasilleski. I think it was just
over 50. Tampa Bay now needs a goal. Gonzalez has room. Another nice blocker saved by Pickard
and search for their first goal tonight. Here’s Point. You know he wants one desperately like
Fedric got one for Edmonton. Du to the net. Tip save by Pickard as Gensel got a piece of that.
Calvin Picker’s best game of the year. Point shot. What a beautiful right pad save from Pickard
on Liber shot. Another save in front with him too. And they do have seven defenseman dress
and nurses back. So they’ve got players. But here’s the block. I guess he turns a little
bit though. And I think that can be a little bit tough. He’s trying to block Gonzalez there
in front. The two of them. Adam Henrik down to McDavid. Hidens in front. Here’s a shot. Save by
Vaselleski trying to get the puck. He does. Good job. Now here comes New York trail as Tampa Bay
changes. Here’s Littleberg. Shot. Saved by Picker. Team offensively in the second and third period
combined. 32 goals last in the NHL. But they’re also playing a team that is coming off a
tough backto back coming from Washington. So maybe they can try to take advantage of
some fatigue that may set into the go. Oh, what a play. Matias at home dove across and
denied. Save. Rebound. Another save by Pickard into the third attempt. Scors why one nothing lead
for the Oilers. Well, Pickard has been excellent all night, but he hasn’t been as tested as he’s
been right here in the first 37 seconds of this game. That is the save of the night on on Braden
Brandon Hegel right there. Watch this. The way he comes across a little bit unorthodox. He doesn’t
have his skate down so he can’t push across. Get reads the play perfectly. Gets it to
point. Get saved by Pickard. Dasco Lillberg. That is one of his best of the night. Certainly
in the top three. Here come the oil and Maapani is denied by Vaselki. Great save seconds apart.
Well, incredible anticipation by Picker because this play here, you got point and you got James.
He’s look, look the way James is turning as if he is going to continue the play behind the net. And
so then the defense usually the goalie comes off as point and Jake Gensel who’s incredible. One
of the many reasons he makes $14 million a year for the next eight. Here comes Paul. Nick Paul
is back and he ties the game for the Lightning. Oilers here in the third period and Leon
Dryidle wins this face off. You think maybe they’re getting out of the zone, they’re
getting into into offensive territory. What the Lightning do really well is they reattack.
They don’t go all the way back. They don’t uh they don’t hesitate. They come in and how about
Nick Paul first game back this season. Watch his left leg. Leans in he and it’s Conor McDavid
defending him and we talk about his offense but Conor McDavid’s no slouch defensively but Nick
Paul big strong uses that left leg to create space for him and elevates that puck. First time
they can find solve Calvin Picker here tonight. Will change as well. Over the boards comes
Point. So Point has it. Here comes Brandon Point for the win. Save by Pickard. A
right shoulder save. Zack Heyman. Jack Roselvic out there. Nurse has room. Darnell
Nurse. Save. Rebound. Squeeze. Another save to Bleski. One on Heyman. One on Roselvic.
And here comes Res. He’s going to get score. What a game. What an ending.
The Lightning win in overtime. Right here you got these guys. Look at this huge
save. Big rebound. How about that one right there? Just elevates that left foot enough. I don’t
even know how you do that physically. Watch him just track that. He’s got bodies all over
him. Jake Kensel had just gotten on the ice. So, he’s fresh legs and he’s coming in and what
a clutch scorer. This guy comes in and all he does is score big goals. Last game hattick and
here he is, the overtime hero. Beautiful finish. How about that finish, too? When you’ve got a
goalie like Picker, who has been so good all night. Picker deserved a win here tonight the
way he played. But, man, when you’re facing off against a team like Tampa, you got your work cut
out for you. 12th goal of the year for Gensel.
