Mock trades the Utah Jazz have to do

It’s time for some trade ideas. Let’s get into it. The Hoops Nerd Show. [Music] All right, guys. Before we get into this, make sure you like the video, subscribe to the channel. All right, I’ve got two trade ideas I want to bring up. Let’s go through both of them. Each of them are trades I think the Jazz should do and I think they could do both of them if they get on the phones and make this happen. Here’s the first one. All right. In this trade, the Jazz trade spy to the Los Angeles Clippers and they receive back Yannik Conan Neerhauser. I’m not even sure how you say that. And they get a second round pick as well from the Clippers. This is something that would immediately help the LA Clippers who don’t have their pick this year. They don’t have any reason to try to be bad. All they have to do is try to be better and this helps them immediately. SVI Mik is shooting the ball at a impressive rate for the Utah Jazz would immediately help that starting lineup or secondary units with some offense that they just desperately need. He also plays hard on the defensive end. So, he’s just an addition to that team that that makes this trade very easy. Utah in return gets a young, tall prospect. Might not be anything, but it’s something for the Utah Jazz. A young player and a second round pick that the UK Utah Jazz could use down the road. All right, let’s talk about the second trade the Jazz have to do. And this is my favorite one. All right, I want you to look this way. Look at this trade in all its glory. The Utah Jazz send Lowry Markin to the Atlanta Hawks. The Atlanta Hawks who have been without Trey Young recently because he has been injured and they’ve been winning and they look really good. They just look like they need that final piece to play next to Jaylen Johnson. They get that piece. Lowry Markin in his prime under contract for the next four years. fits perfectly with what they’re doing with size, length, and shooting. They become just an absolute potential contender in the East, maybe top two, top three team with Lowry Markin on the team. And all they have to give up is Trey Young, who they’re not even playing. Now, they do have to give up one other thing to get Lowry Markin. That’s giving the Jazz the New Orleans Pelicans first round pick. That’s what the Utah Jazz get out of this for Larry Markin who’s averaging 30 points per game and undoubtedly doubtedly if that’s how you say it goes to Atlanta and will just absolutely open things up for that team. They get that second star next to Jaylen Johnson and they are rolling in Atlanta. Now the Kings who are in just an absolute tail spin get Trey Young uh a star guard that needs a new environment. They could give him a max contract. They could bring him in. He could be the focal point of that offense and it would immediately make the Kings better. They don’t have to give up their young prospects. They can keep them. But they get a point guard that can absolutely set all their players up to succeed. Now, it doesn’t fix their defensive problems, but it 100% gives them an offensive identity that they need. They become a team that can win a lot of games like they haven’t before. And all they’re giving up is a player they probably aren’t interested in keeping anyway in Zack Lavine who goes to the Utah Jazz. Zack Lavine who hasn’t helped them win anything there. If anything, they’ve been worse since acquiring Zack Lavine. Now they replace him with Trey Young. And all they have to give up is their first round pick in this draft. Now, Utah brings back Zack Lavine, who fits perfectly with Lowry Markin’s contract. Utah gets two picks that are potentially in the top 10. And on top of that, by trading Markin to the Hawks, they also undoubtedly ensure themselves to keep their own pick. And if they trade SE Mik as well, then they ensure they keep the pick while not giving up any of their young assets. So you continue to run Keonte George with Ace Bailey getting him tons of minutes. Let a let Keonte George just run the show and continue to grow. You then open up that starting unit for more players to start. Philippowski can start. Do you want to put in Isaiah Collier? Uh Taylor Hendris can now start. You can also start giving Walter Clayton Jr. minutes so he can finally play. He’s been getting DNPs lately. It’s something the Jazz need to do. Guys, let me know in the comments what you think. This is a home run. I love it. So, I don’t care what you say, but let me know.

Here are two NBA Mock Trades the Utah Jazz have to do including Trae Young, Zach LaVine, and Lauri Markkanen. Would the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings consider doing these trades?

  1. That trade would be incredible. Getting three shots in one of the best drafts feels huge. You could realistically come away with two cornerstone guys for the next playoff run — kind of like OKC landing both Chet and J-Dub in 2022.

  2. Dude. Did Lauri hurt you? Because your single minded focus to get him out of Utah is baffling. Especially when you’re talking about trading him straight up for…Zach LaVine(!!!!!!!)

  3. Jazz won’t trade Lauri. They think they’ll still be bad enough with him on roster. BUT THEY SHOULD!!! Don’t let emotions get in the way and make the smart decision! Having three first round picks in next years draft would be to good to be true.

  4. 3 team trade now that Lomelo Ball wants out and Hawks want to save money…Jazz get Porzingas, Ball and Kalkbrenner; Hawks get Nurkic and Niang plus future Laker first round pick; Hornets get Hendricks, Anderson, Kessler, clayton, Flip, Sensabaugh and future Suns pick and this years best twolves/cavs pick. Jazz lineup Guards Key and Ball, Center Porzingas Forwards Markennon and Ace…Bench SVI, Collier, Love, Kalkbrenner, Cody and Harkless.

  5. If you want your channel to grow, and be taken seriously amongst the best best hoops podcasts, you have to have viewponts that can be taken seriously. How would Ace or Key develop while being absolutely smothered defensively? There would be no one that the other teams would bother guarding. How quickly would the players check out in 30 to 40 lb blowouts EVERY single night. How many years from now would it take for any of the 3 players drafted to be as good as and contribute as much as Lauri does now? 3 to 4 years? Who wants another 3 to 4 years of losing? Whos going to give 2 craps about the Jazz after an 8 year rebuild and competitive basketball/ playoff drought?
You were THE best Jazz Pod. Now you're far down the road of becoming David Locke jr. Having indefensible takes divorced from reality. Please please drop your grudge against Lauri!!

  6. I love ya man, but lauri is proven, with ur strategy, it could go on for 30 years. There is a time to tank and a time to build. As we all learned, even tanking doesnt guarantee u a #1 pick. U keep talking like it does lol

  7. Svi's trade will likely happen. Maybe not with the clippers but definitely some contending team could use Svi (maybe even Denver or Houston). The only benefit for Utah here is more minutes for the youth.

LM is something else. I think that he is in that area that could bring high value (although I don't see a reason for the kings to give up Lavine and a 1st rounder for an injured Young). The question is what are you projecting. If you want to start winning next year, then trading LM will probably not help you at all.

Utah has a big problem now, since Lauri's value is very high but on the other hand you're risking to enter another endless rebuild process.

  8. James, I understand your logic in suggesting the Markkanen trade. And in my dreams, 😴 I imagine the Jazz not only getting 3-TOP-TEN picks, but numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the draft! But then I wake up and realize it was all a dream and that the picks, ended up being 8, 9 and 10. 😨 😱 I'd be surprised to see the Jazz do it. But hey, if they got the top three picks, hell ya, it would be worth it!

  9. For the love of God can we stop trying to trade lauri! I get it there are 3 dudes that could become stars. We'd have to get really lucky to get into the top 3 this year no matter what we do tank wise with how many terrible teams are ahead of them in the tank department. That said the idea is to draft a kid that might end up a top 15 talent if we're lucky. We already have that in lauri. I just don't get it. Tired of the tank warriors trying to offload lauri just to"try" and get lucky in the lottery where we never do.. ever
