In light of JJ coming back, Nashon Wright Appreciation Post.

  1. Nason Wright has a future in this league, and will make more plays this season.

    Edit: NAHSHON

  2. I think he’s a great backup and could maybe be a starter. Idk if he’s a starter here cuz Stevenson has had a good/solid season too and has higher upside imo. Our secondary has gotten almost no help from the pass rush and have still done an okay job and deserves a lot of credit for that. A lot harder to cover when you have to for 4/5+ seconds damn near every play

  3. He did as well as I could hope someone would do playing in JJ’s place. Those are pretty big shoes to fill. I don’t really know his contract status, but Hope he’s around for a little while.

  4. Dude has literally been playing at an All-Pro level. What a great sign in, we would be so much more injury screwed without him.

  5. Got burnt a few times but came in clutch more often than he failed soild back up was happy he was here.

  6. He’s going to be a star in the league with his size, if he can stay healthy. The reps he has gotten and the experience are going to help come playoff time.

  7. I’m feeling very good about our secondary now that they’re finally getting healthy. These depth guys who’ve started most of the season are battle-tested, we know their limitations. We can run some crazy dime packages too…

  8. Seeing his growth week one to now was one of the best storylines of the year, had no expectations for him but hes turned to be quiet a reliable player on the defense.

He’s developed really well, hope he remains on the team but wouldn’t be surprised if I see him starting somewhere else.

  9. He is more valuable than 36. Hate to lose the connect to the Olympics, but 26 has a longer runway

  10. I couldn’t ask for any more from our 4th string CB. His turnovers have more or less balanced the plays hes lost us. I am very happy we have depth this good and when we are fully healthy I can rest easy knowing we can trust him.

  11. Homie way out performed expectations and has had a better season than Stevenson so far. Bench tyrique let’s see if wright keeps it up

  12. It’s crazy that we’re talking about benching a player tied for second most interceptions in the league. Football is funny.

  13. He makes an art out of making bad plays and penalties and then making up for it with a great momentum changing play. Basically a sample of the whole teams heart attack special this year

  14. They should lock him up on a cheap extension and try to develop him, either at corner or maybe safety given his size and ball skills. He’s made some big plays but he’s a liability in coverage much of the time, see if he can improve and worst case keep a viable backup on the roster.

  15. I’d love to see just one game of this defense fully healthy. The pass rush issue would still be there, but damn the rest would be very solid.

  16. I think he’s more skilled than a lot of average guys in the league, but is too light and isn’t sticky in coverage to often.

  17. He’s made some big plays but he’s not a consistent good coverage DB. Perfect example.: had a great interception vs Vikings in the end zone but also failed to deflect a TD in the end zone in a similar position. So he needs to be consistent in order to be a reliable starter

  18. I think what doesn’t get enough attention is the 2 crucial fumble recoveries he had: The Jayden Daniel’s and Jaxon Dart fumbles at pivotal moments.

Right place, right time, sure. But how many times have we seen guys stumble or butter fingers it up. Nashon knew the assignment.

  19. That interception in the end zone last week will never be forgotten if this ends up being a magical season

  20. That high point interception was sick as fuck. Give the dude his flowers for that. He has also had the awareness to scoop up at least 1 fumble. I know he’s a backup but he definitely earned his roster spot this year.
