What is going on with LaMelo Ball and the Hornets? 👀

LaMelo Ball is open to being traded from the Hornets. How did we get here? LaMelo was benched in the final four minutes of regulation after scoring 18 points on 5 for 21 shooting and six turnovers in 27 minutes. The team lost by eight to the 2 and13 Indiana Pacers, bringing their own record to 4 and 11. And according to Kelly Eco of Yahoo Sports, LaMelo Ball, who is frustrated with the organization, made it known that he is open to being traded. Now, while recording this, LaMelo responded to the report with this, so do with that info what you will, but according to the report, it’s deeper than that one game. Head coach Charles Lee has apparently been trying to install a more deliberate offense to involve more players. But despite LaMelo’s constant urge to speed things up, Charlotte still plays extremely slow, and league sources say that Charlotte is getting hesitant about building around him long term. They’ve become disillusioned with the 24year-old and are open to moving him. So, we don’t really know who won it out first, but both sides are clearly ready for a breakup. It’s a weird, abrupt ending for someone who’s clearly been the franchise centerpiece since he arrived. He’s obviously a very talented basketball player, an all-star at best, but he has missed a lot of time with injuries. Now, his offensive efficiency has dipped, and it seems like both LaMelo and the team just feel like the other side isn’t prioritizing them. But in the NBA, we don’t go to couples therapy. We request trades or softly request trades. They’ll try to trade him, but it won’t be simple. He’s owed $130 million over the next three years, and there are real durability concerns. Still, some team out there is absolutely taking that swing. So, now the question is, where should he go? Charlotte, the ball is literally in your

  1. Casuals can argue with me all they want but LaMelo is a box office player. That's it. He's all flashy plays and high scoring with no defense and fundamentals. He's not someone you build around or a franchise player. He's someone you want to see to be entertained from his flashy plays. All he does is dribble fancy and jack up shots whether he's hot or cold.

  2. Charlotte better keep him as long as he wants to be there. They ain’t going anywhere anytime soon at least keep a brotha who can feel seats.

  3. Lamelo isnt the franchise player Hornets is trying to make him. He's more suited as a Robin type of player where he needs a Batman. He just doesnt have that kind of leadership qualities.

  4. This guy's greatest success so far are his shoes, he's got some fire shoes ngl. Other than that idk if he can be the main guy on a championship team. Electric for sure but it's not winning basketball, just flashy
