HUGE Yankees UPDATE: WAIT WHAT? Corey Seager Available?
We have a lot to go over here in today’s video, but before I do, I want you guys to let me know what you think about everything down in the comments. Hit that subscribe button if you haven’t already. It’s free. We’re on the road to 24,000 subscribers. So, if you can help us get there, that would be a gigantic blessing. But let’s start here. According to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon, the Yankees and Devin Williams have discussed the possibility of a re of a reunion. Now, when we acquired Devin Williams, people called him High Lev Dev, right? A cute little nickname. He wasn’t that. Not even close. We did not get what we thought we were getting from Milwaukee. Devin Williams last year pitched to almost a 5RA. He had a lot of strikeouts. He had 90 and just over 60 innings pitched. So, his strikeouts were there, but he was very erratic, very hitable, and he just did not have the kind of season we were used to seeing him have when he pitched over Milwaukee. It just not even close. He was a different pitcher. Now, should the Yankees even entertain this idea? A pitcher as talented as Devin Williams? I don’t just think it was, oh, he lost his talent and it and it it went away and see you see you later. It’s he’s not a good pitcher anymore. I don’t think that’s what happens, especially at his age. He’s not old cuz he’s still a youngish player here. So, I don’t think his talent is gone. He just mentally he wasn’t there last year. And if there’s any player who I think is going to have a bounceback season, it’s going to be him. It’s going to be him. So, I’m not against this idea of the Yankees bringing back Devin Williams because even if you could have not even what he was in Milwaukee, but just close to that, you’re getting a really good reliever. you’re getting not maybe a closer, maybe you don’t want to trust him with a closer role, but the kind of year he had last year, I mean, I Glacius just signed a one-year deal with the freaking Braves for $16 million. I don’t think Deon’s going to get that. It’ll probably be less. I’m really curious to see how much he will get, but if it goes anything, you know, anywhere above 10 million, that’s from the Yankees. I’m just like, “All right, I’m out.” because you basically had a 5year RA last year. So, I don’t think investing that much money into you is smart. However, if you’re trying to find a guy who can have a bounceback year, I think it’s him. I think he can. So, I’m not against the Yankees signing Devin Williams. It’s just, hey, how much money is it going to be? Now, according to reports, the Texas Rangers could make Cory Seager available because the Rangers are trying to shed payroll. Now, Seager has six years and 186 million left on his contract. Seager is a really good hitter. When he’s healthy, he’s great. hit to a 271 average last year, 21 homers, 50 RBI, had a 860 OPS and a 151 OPS plus one of the better young shorts stops in the game. Another left-handed bat. So, if the Yankees were to trade for him, it’s another left-handed bat. The Yankees need more righties in that lineup in my opinion. Do I see it happening? probably not because then that would mean potentially anyway that you you basically move on from Anthony Vulpi and I don’t think the Yankees are ready to move on from Vulpi. However, if the Rangers truly do make Cory Seager available and if the Yankees do want to spend some money, which they’re going to have to now if they want to improve this team, if they want to spend some money, he’s definitely a good option. And Cory Seager, according to baseball savant, had a four outs above average. So he had a really good year defensively, a really good year offensively. If I’m the Yankees, I would definitely entertain this. He wanted to sign with the Yankees when he was a free agent four years ago. The Yankees didn’t want to sign him because of the PZA. Uh I was going to say Pzas. I hate when people say say the Pzas, the Vulpies. It just never made sense to me. But they had Pza. They had Vulpi. They didn’t want to sign a shortstop longterm and and that was the time to do it. So now all of a sudden if he becomes available, his bat is still excellent. I I think you have to entertain it. You have to entertain the idea. Do I think it’s going to end up happening? Probably not. But here’s a little fun fact about Corey Seager. He has a no trade clause. The Yankees aren’t on that list. So there is that. Now, I saw a TKO trade floating around and it has the Yankees sending Bryce Cunningham, Will Warren, Spencer Jones, and somebody else going to the Tigers for TK Scoo. And for me, if if he’s going to be a one-year rental, I I would try to stay away from him. I wouldn’t want the Yankees to go and trade for him because then all of a sudden you’re kind of in the same situation as you were with Juan Sodto and where you you you traded a lot for him. He spent a year here. It was a really good year for him and then he left and he went to another team. He went to the Mets. You don’t want the same thing to happen with Scooball. He’s a Boris client. He’s a free agent after the 2026 season. If you trade for him, I pray that you’re able to negotiate an extension, but the likelihood of that is very low. And the Yankees are going to need a starting pitcher. Whether Cashman believes that or not, they will need at least one starting pitcher. Whether that’s a Mai or a much lesser name because you have Cole who won’t be there opening day. Rhdon who won’t be there opening day. Clark Schmidt, he’s hurt. They need some pitching. And in adding school, that’s one heck of a pitcher to get. For one, once again, I’m not expecting this. If the Tigers do make him fully available, which there’s been conflicting reports about that, if he’s available or not, if he were to become available, of course, I would want the Yankees to give the Tigers a phone call and say, “Hey, what can we do here?” But I don’t think the Yankees are the team to that will end up with Scooball if he were to become available. Now, I want to talk about Gisham. A couple days ago, I made a video and I was I was pissed. I was pissed when he took the offer and it was not nothing on him. The Yankees offered him the the the one-year qualifying offer over 22 million. The Yankees offered that to him and he had every right to take it and he did. He did take it. And Gisham last year had a really good season for him. A breakout year. Hit 34 homers, driven 74 runs, an 811 OPS, but defensively he regressed a little bit. And the thing is, I’m I’m seeing a take online and I agree with I I disagree with it entirely. It’s it’s they’re defending him defensively. They’re they’re basically saying, “Oh, well, that was the only year where he was bad defensively over over the course of his career.” Generally, he’s a really good defender as as we know, by the way. So, who’s to say he won’t bounce back and have a better 2026 defensively? Okay, that’s fine. Like, I get that. I get last year’s kind of an anomaly for him defensively. It was a horrible year. 111 defensive runs saved. It’s horrible. Terrible. Usually he’s he’s he’s really great and last year he wasn’t. Well, guess what? The rules reversed. He was great with the bat. Completely overachieved. So, if you’re going to tell me that, oh, Trent Gisham that last year defensively it doesn’t mean anything because he’s generally a really good outfielder. He’s a good center fielder. You could say the same dang thing about his bat, but the other way around. You could say the same thing. You could say, “Oh, I mean, 2022 through 2024, it was terrible. His average was below well below 200, right? 2022 had a 184 average, a 152 games. 2023, he played a 100 o over 150 games, had a 198 average. 2024 only played in 76 games, but hit 190. His average he just 2022 to 2024 terrible seasons for him. His careerhigh in home runs 17. Last year doubled that last year was was tremendous. This past season I should say. But if you’re going to tell me, oh, his glove is going to come around. Okay, fine. I’m cool with that. Well, who’s to say that that his bat isn’t going to fizzle out and he won’t go back to that 15 home run per year guy if he’s playing full time cuz he very well could. Now, I’m not discrediting him. He hit 34 homers. That was He was so damn important to that Yankee lineup, especially after losing Sodto. We needed him to that to have that kind of year offensively. And he did. He shocked us all. He surprised the baseball world with the offensive year he had last year. And I hope he does it again. But for that kind of money, he has to do it again. The Yankees have to have him do it again. And the reason why I was so upset about it is because, you know, over the course of the of the past few seasons, the Yankees make the payroll an excuse to not spend money. We’ve heard Hal Stein Briner say it time and time again that he he doesn’t think a that you need a $300 million payroll to win a championship. Well, guess what, Hal? This year, if you want to improve your team, you definitely need that. Definitely need that. We’ll see what they end up doing. But that’s why I was upset with the with with the uh the move was simply because I don’t want it to stop the Yankees from improving this team. It can’t. I hope it doesn’t. I hope they do. I hope they blow past 340 350 because they need to if they’re going to improve this team. If you just bring back Gisham and Bellinger, that’s all you end up doing. You also need pitching. People say, “Oh, the bats weren’t an issue last year.” I mean, in the playoffs, they they sure were. They were terrible against against the Blue Jays. And you want to say, “Oh, game two, they scored six, seven runs.” I don’t care. That was garbage time where they started to score. They were out of that game by like the fourth, fifth inning. Let’s just hope they have a good off seasonason.
Yankees are interested in bringing back Devin Williams? The Rangers may look to shed some payroll. Could that make Corey Seager available? Let me know what you think.

Look Joe – aren’t you ignoring the the obvious? He’s the wrong constitution for bright lights of NYC! How does he change that barring psychological or meditative or hypnosis work?
YES I UNDERSTAND BUT HE IS A GREAT OUTFIELDER, HE HAD A GREAT YEAR, I LOVE THE GUY, AND THEY WILL GO PAST THE MONEY, WATCH AND SEE, THEY ARE TIRED OF LOOSING, GOD BLESS, MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR
Grisham was playing center field with a hammy issue. Im sure he’ll be better defensively, and offensively there were a lot of underlying numbers to suggest it wasn’t a fluke. Im happy he’s back
David robertson > cardiac clay > d bag williams
Reports stating Devin Williams is being offered $45 million over 3 years by the Yankees, so we might be cooked.
It’s going to be difficult to get Corey Seager. The NYY priority is to bring back by re-signing Cody. Also my opinion re-sign D.Williams who is maligned and have plenty of baseball critics and oppositions including a percentage of NYY fans.
Skubby would ink immediately with the NYY.
They're not getting Seager or Skubal. Cashman doesn't have the balls to pull of either of those trades. Williams will never be the pitcher he was in Milwaukee. Pete Alonso broke him.
With Trent I didn’t notice any bad defense in the 2025 MLB regular season.
The NYY came back and tied that game down 6-2 host, not a garbage time deed. The other games they were terrible both offensively and the starting pitching was terrible. The NYY bullpen did well up until Nathan Lukes got that big hit against that 2025 postseason effective relief pitcher D.Williams for the NYY.
He was playing ona bad hammy dude
Seager is not so good. 270 avg and 50 RBI'S, not good.
we complained yesterday about rolling out the same lineup and now we want to bring back williams? he was part of the problem I don't think he can handle the pressure of pitching in New York. he is not part of next years solution Seager would be a good addition if he is consistent in playing better than Volpe we are going to have to see what Grisham does and hope he has another good year. We need another starter yes but lets not give up the farm for a rental like Skubal.
I think we need to absolutely move on from Volpe. He is not going to be the player we want or need him to be.
Only problem i have with Grish's defense 😮 is how nonchalant he played easy balls.??. Joe you gotta get over Grish …. all players are a crap shoot year to year 😮
Looks like their gonna run it back , 2026 same results pretty sad.
Thats the thing I have with mcmahon. I Great defends Player but I can Hit a watermelon. He is just a lefthanded version of peraza. I cant understand the Yankees anymore
You can't trust Devin with a lead! How many games did this guy cough up a lead? Way to many. 2 walks and a hit, well there goes the game. He doesn't belong in the pinstripes.
Grish hit .240 not good
We need .270 + hitters ! We need to get Better than last year !!!
