First of all, just how important is it to kind of go a big AFC game going into the by-week? Just how important is it to kind of go off and uh big win? Uh you need to go get a win like this. Uh AFC game, we want to win them all, but especially the AFC ones for sure. What are you seeing from Trevor Lawrence? Trevor Lawrence make a lot of throws, man. He confident guy. Same guy. U got to get out there and go execute. Any uh sorry, any any emotions going back to Jacksonville for the first time? No, I’m I’m excited to go back. I’m excited to go back to Florida overall as a as a as a person, you know, from from Florida, but I’m excited to have my family out there. I can’t wait. But nothing uh related to the last time you guys played in that building. No, no, we good. We we good. They know what it is. But I know the type of guys we got. So, we can go out there, have fun, and play fast. How different is this team from that team? Uh team’s way different. Coach is different. I don’t even think we wear the same colors uniforms. We wear different uniforms, different socks now. So, we ready to go. ready to go play and I can’t wait. How similar is this offense to the Bucks offense he faced last year? Obviously, he was coordinating there. Um um very similar, but uh it’s some things that Trevor likes in there too that he’s familiar with, but uh very similar. Uh he did a great job actually the OC last time we played him played the Bucks last year. He did a great job. So, got to be ready for sure. RJ like watching your work ethic and what you’re doing. What have you seen from them? Younger guys trying to step up in the last few weeks. It’s been a sponge, bro. Them boys ask questions all day, every day, man. They they work uh they they work like they ain’t got nothing, bro, every day. And um it’s showing humble humble guys. I love going to work with them boys, man, honestly. And uh just giving them get getting them helping them get better and just give them as much knowledge as I can. Sunday, I feel like Justin was a little bit more animated than we seen him, especially after some of those hits. Yeah. Do you do you like seeing him that way when he sometimes? Yeah, that turned me up, bro. When I see him animated, I just see him in the weight room actually. He getting it on getting it on. But I when he when he get turned like that and he go to the sideline, he truck a guy, man, that just fire me up. I get off the sideline, drop the iPad, it just get me going. I’m ready to go out there. So, I’m pretty sure the guys on offense love it, too. Do you get upset when you see some of these, I don’t know, hits on him? Like, yeah, of course I do. I get mad cuz being a defender, I know how it is. Like, if we’re rushing the quarterback, so when I see him hit my quarterback sometimes, I’ll be like, “Come on, man.” Like, you know what I mean? So, of course. Do you ever cuz he he doesn’t really argue that much, but like do do you ever I don’t know. Do you ever wish you did or do you ever wish you could argue for him or something like that? No, we don’t. Justin’s not a complainer. Justin’s he’s a guy that he wouldn’t even want to he wouldn’t want me to complain for him. So like man like he’s a guy that just work hard. He in the weight room like not right now like I said just getting it in and strong guy and like I said I would rather have no other quarterback. talked to RJ, he kind of talked about just like even when he wasn’t playing early in the season, you know, practicing the way like how he practices how you’re going to play. Just what does it say about a young guy like that to kind of go and then once he goes in, he’s producing? Um um just he said it he said the right phrase I feel like that you need you practice how you play and I feel like uh you in order to go out there and have success you got to take the right steps during the week during during the training camp during the or whenever you get your opportunity executing the game plan. So, like he say, man, you make the plays in practice. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t go make them in the game. How uh just encouraged are you with where the defense is at after the last three weeks? Um yeah, you can say encouraged, but you can’t get too high, you can’t get too low, man. Um got to consistently go out and and grind and um get ready for the next week cuz it’s a week toe league. Can’t get caught up thinking you did something good. Do you feel like that edge group has like a added confidence after the last couple games y’all had together? It seems like Yeah, man. Um it’s just getting more familiar getting more familiar with each other. Getting more familiar with each other’s games. Um knowing what certain guys like going different sides guys like to be on at certain times of the game and um just playing off of each other, you know what I mean? And so um yeah, that confidence is growing um and we we building it. We we making sure we communicating and all those different things throughout the week. um in practice and meetings and so um coach Rooney had done a great job as well and um yeah he just got us on the same page and we kind of we going to hitting that stride. It’s not as great as we wanted it to be right now but um this it’s trending that way. Do you do you ever get impressed with like Tulie’s ability to rush from like the inside like the three set I was trying to I’ve been wanting to brag on Tulie all this time but I don’t want to get I don’t want to you know I don’t want to I don’t want to Yeah. Yeah. I want to Yeah. You know what I mean? It’s like, man, how do y’all not talk about him all the time? This guy can go inside, went inside, went outside, and he can cover on the back end, you know what I mean? So, um, special player. I mean, when they figure it out, they figure it out. But, uh, yeah, keep giving them one-on- ones and, keep giving them all, you know what I mean? Please keep doing what y’all doing. Yeah. Jesse uh talked about being unselfish among the edge room, you know, guys, even you being willing to stun inside, pick to create opportunities for others. You’ve been around a lot of edge groups in your career. Like how important is it to have that type of unselfish mentality among edge rushers? It It’s huge. It’s huge, man. It keeps the vibes high. Um you know, everybody can stay happy cuz everybody kind of getting their they wins throughout the throughout the game. So, um, it’s it’s it’s super important to keep the the vibe side in the edge room cuz it can be a competitive competitive room. Guys will probably be hating on this and hating on that, but we ain’t got those type of guys, man. We want to win by any means. And so, uh, whatever it takes whatever it takes to win, we willing to do for each other [Music] going going into the buy. Um, how important is it to get this win, especially with your guys AFC record so far? I mean, even without going into the bar, uh this is a you know, I mean, this is a high high level uh team we’re going up against. So, it’s it’s going to be playoff implica implications to it. And so, um you got to treat it like a playoff game going into this one. Um it’s going to be super important for us to be where we want to be. You know what I mean? In the standings or whatever else you want to talk about, but um knowing these Yeah. knowing this team got the got the talent um offensively and defensively to beat any team in this league. So, um, it’s going to be super important for us to be on our agame regardless of going into the by week or not. Yeah. First trip back to Jacksonville after the playoff game. Any, uh, thoughts about that game or not, not any thoughts, not any thoughts, it’s just certain certain motivations you have throughout the, you know what I mean? I think uh, Michael Jordan said it in one of those uh, somebody said it for him in one of those documentary that documentary that came out not too long ago. It’s just certain things you got to keep in your pocket and bring them out um whenever the opportunity presents itself. Is that is that one of them? I mean, it’s always one of them for me. I I love I love going against this team in general. Um just knowing the talent level that they have and um 16, he’s a great quarterback and so uh this is another challenge, you know what I mean? Like I said last week about Aaron, you got a league full of great talent um especially arm talent wise and running wise and so it’s going to be super important for us this week. What do you think of their offense? Like what do you see from them? They’re they’re all line. They’re tackles. What do you see from them? I mean, they get the job done, but uh 16, he runs the show and um he’s effective in the run and the pass. And so, it’s going to be super important for us to rush forwards one and play play uh fundamentally sound up front um and cover on the back end. So, we got to rush and cover well. [Music]
